"Rest assured, I have no intention of spreading the events that happened here..."
"Please believe , I rely suspect that Oniens may have been corrupted by dark forces. If Miss Inas believes otherwise, that’s fine by . After all, in the end, it’s only the Earth Mother Goddess Sect that will suffer, not ."
"I intend to use Oniens as a worthwhile subject for observation and will closely monitor his condition along the way."
Inas’s gaze remained fierce, "Why should I believe what you say?"
"Because you have no other choice, or are you really keen on having a proper fight with here?" Qin Chu shook his head, "Miss Inas, you wouldn’t want to do that, trust ."
"Eh? What are you doing here?" Just then, Oniens, who seed to have sensed sothing, floated into mid-air below.
He found the quartet of Qin Chu, Inas, Silf, and Asina peculiar and imdiately, as if realizing sothing, rushed fiercely towards Qin Chu. He was about to grab Qin Chu’s collar when Silf stepped directly in front of Qin Chu.
Oniens was forced to co to a sharp halt.
Oniens felt afraid of the two won, Silf and Catherine; he could only stand there pointing at Qin Chu and bellowed ferociously, "Damn you, did you not take my warning to heart?"
"I warned you not to get close to Inas..."
"Inas is mine."
Qin Chu lazily spread his hands, "My dear Holy Son, you worry too much. I simply wanted to invite you to a small party I’m hosting."
"It would be my great honor if the esteed Holy Son could attend my gathering."
The Holy Son Oniens’s face twitched uncontrollably; this detestable fellow could lie without even a frown. You and those won had already wrapped up your gathering, and then you co inviting ?
"If I’m not mistaken, hasn’t your party already ended?" Oniens said with a dark expression.
Qin Chu, unblushing and unbreathing retorted, "The second one, you see. This will be a purely n’s affair."
Oniens’s mouth twitched twice. A purely n’s affair?
"Not interested."
"That’s a pity. In that case, I’ll take my leave."
Bowing elegantly to Inas and Oniens, Qin Chu turned and walked away, his departure accompanied by Oniens’s vicious curses echoing faintly behind him.
This man seed to be caring less and less about the dignity of the upper class.
Upon returning, Qin Chu paused alone inside the tent, where Shaye, invisible to others, perched on his shoulder.
"How do you feel?" asked Shaye.
"Slaughter, desire... these are human instincts. Everyone harbors various impulses in their hearts, dark aspects they wouldn’t want others to see. It seems the effect of the thread is to amplify the dark side of humanity without limit."
"Hence, this usually self-disciplined Holy Son has been acting on impulses that are shocking to behold."
"Because of this magnification of the dark side, Oniens pursues females he would normally disdain, then heartlessly kills them afterwards to avoid his affairs becoming exposed."
The dark side within Qin Chu’s heart was revenge... So when Qin Chu tried to touch the thread with his consciousness, he felt an intense surge of brutality, slaughter, and destructive impulses.
"Oniens has started to change; there’s no doubt that a complete transformation is inevitable, though it might take a long ti."
Shaye tilted her head, smiling like a little demon, "What are you planning to do then? You still have one of those threads on you, do you intend to inject it into Oniens’s body too?"
"If given the chance, I’d truly like to see the effect of two threads."
"But there’s no need to rush for now. I’m more interested in Silf’s situation."
"With only a single thread, Oniens showed signs of mutation so quickly, yet Silf, with twenty-six threads within her, has managed to retain her sanity all along. Why is that?"
"I don’t believe Silf possesses the capability or the willpower to resist the corruption."
"This is indeed suspicious. Could there be sothing special about Silf’s body that we’re unaware of, allowing her to continually suppress the impulses brought by the corrosion?"
"Conversely, could it be that the real purpose of the threads is to contain sothing special within Silf?"
Shaye posed several hypotheses in succession, each one sounding plausible.
```
To uncover the truth, the sole thod was to extract each thread from Silf’s body one by one, a process that was anything but easy and promised to be quite lengthy.
Qin Chu suddenly realized that the threads within Silf’s body were extrely sharp weapons that even gave Qin Chu sufficient reason to kill soone.
If he injected a thread into an enemy’s body, that person would soon mutate, tumbling into infamy and disgrace as a monster, ultimately to be purified by Qin Chu in the na of justice.
Killing an enemy and gaining fa at the sa ti, a win-win situation.
"No one is watching us, right?"
"Asina is prowling around the tent, seemingly wanting to co in but still hesitating," Shaye sensed the surroundings and said, "I haven’t detected any magic fluctuations on her."
Asina’s reactions had been strange lately.
She seed to want to approach Qin Chu as she wandered around him but ultimately gave up due to so hesitation and fear.
Could that woman have realized that the so-called Jie Luo was an impostor?
This was not a good sign.
Qin Chu had thought that this charade could have been sustained longer, but it seed Asina was more intelligent than he had anticipated.
Such a clever woman was definitely not a good thing for Qin Chu, perhaps it was ti to deal with Asina’s matters.
The image of Candice erged in Qin Chu’s mind; Candice was still in the Demon’s territory, acting as the interdiary in Qin Chu’s dealings with the Seventh Prince, Romon:
"Candice, inform Romon, the deal is in Pipus Forest under the full moon in three days."
"Be safe!"
After the brief communication, Qin Chu imdiately ended the transmission.
In the palace of the Seventh Prince, Candice pouted a bit sullenly.
Although Candice understood that Lord Horus was surrounded by many watchful eyes, making every eting and ssage exchange with her very difficult. The longer each contact lasted, the more likely it was to be discovered.
But that last sentence, "Be safe!", did warm Candice’s heart.
The smile on her face was fleeting, as Candice quickly composed herself and turned to face the Seventh Prince, Romon behind her, "Seventh Prince, the mysterious gentleman has sent a ssage."
"He says that the trade will take place in Pipus Forest, late at night in three days."
Romon’s eyes lit up sharply, his chest seething with fervor.
With Hero Team mber Ronald captured alive and the wide dissemination of his capture among the Demons, hordes ca to gawk at this Executioner who once slaughtered hundreds of thousands of their brethren.
Romon’s prestige soared instantly, and he was quickly catching up to the Second Prince and the Prince in standing.
In a short ti, the number of Demons flocking to his territory had doubled, and so leaders of middle-sized forces even ca to negotiate, hoping to gain Romon’s acceptance and protection.
This sensation made Romon sowhat giddy.
He relished this feeling, intoxicated by the lavish praise.
But Romon was well aware that this feeling was still far, far removed from being a true Demon King...
He stood up, deciding to personally check on Ronald’s condition. That was an important trade item, and he couldn’t afford it being killed by so brutish Demons.
He knew all too well how savage his own subordinates could be.
Following the Goblin Chief’s suggestion, Romon had set up a large exhibition hall... though calling it a hall was a stretch, as it was really just a large area enclosed by wooden fences.
In the center was a massive wooden rack to which Ronald’s arms were bound, his body forced to kneel on the ground.
The proposing Goblin Chief was also the person in charge of the exhibition.
"My dear Goblin, how are things going?"
The Goblin looked up at the towering Romon, opened his mouth wide, and tried to speak as loudly as possible, "My report to the Seventh Prince, my brothers are all quite pleased!"
"However, for Ronald, there might be nothing left but pain!"
