The night sky glittered with stars over the city, their light struggling against the bright streams illuminating New York’s inhabitants.
Manhattan buzzed as a line of flashy cars moved toward sothing important. Mr. Alessandro Lancaster’s dinner party was the talk of every social dia platform.
People chatted and gossiped, expecting long-awaited topics to finally be addressed. What they desperately wanted to know concerned Daniel: what had happened to him, and how had he died in the end? One last thing—a tour inside the Lancasters’ glamorous mansion—would be a once-in-a-lifeti opportunity.
Everyone had heard of the stunning estate, said to be the second most beautiful place after the Golden Palace, which had been closed down months ago. After the horrible tales about that place, no one was seen entering or leaving the infamous palace again.
anwhile, at the hotel where his newfound family resided, Daniel sat at the dining table speaking to a designer. She stood surrounded by racks of clothes and handbags glowing with luxury.
Daniel’s face looked unsatisfied as he stared at the lines of outfits. When he’d chosen them online, they hadn’t seed this unattractive. Seeing them in person was a slap in the face—wearing any of them would be a blow to his dignity and reputation. He couldn’t arrive at a dinner party without dressing like the goddess he was.
"These look so dull," he said, still assessing the clothes. "I am not so cheap lady who chooses bland outfits. I wanted sothing out of this world, but what I’m seeing is basic trash. I thought you were better than this."
Unfortunately, he’d had to change designers at the last minute. His previous one had gone on vacation and couldn’t deliver, so Daniel made a late-second choice—and now he regretted it.
"These are the best, and trust , the elites love them—especially this one." The designer tried to sound convincing as she held up a black shimring bodysuit and trousers that would make him look like a stockfish on display.
Irritated, he gave her a dangerous glare. She fell silent, seeing the man was slowly losing his cool. The number of outfits he’d ordered showed he was filthy rich, and the legendary black card he was using proved it. She had to secure this deal.
"Are you kidding ? Is this what you expect to wear?" Daniel’s eyes blazed with anger. "Who do you take for, a clown? That’s not even the most insulting part—I asked for sothing unique, and you bring sothing on constant reorder for other people. Can you hear yourself?"
He stood and dropped the clothes on the glass table nearby. "If this is all you can do, then leave. Let go to a boutique myself, since you’re incompetent." He hissed, adjusting his outfit while checking his phone. He was worried about Charles. Where was he? Why was his phone switched off? He’d been trying for hours.
About to leave the vast sitting room—so large the designer thought she might get lost—he was followed as she tried to persuade him.
"I still have others! I brought many sets to avoid stress. You can sort through them. I’m sorry for showing you what others have chosen—you’re unique and deserve special care." She massaged his ego.
Daniel stopped and glanced at her. Normally, he wouldn’t have had this ti, but thanks to Xylander and Draven putting the babies to sleep, he could focus on his outfit. Thank goodness he did—the disaster if he hadn’t checked was unthinkable.
"Fine, bring them. But know you’re encroaching on my ti. I have plans with my husband." At that, the lady hurried to find the perfect sets—ones extrely expensive, costing millions upward. She had to impress him and get his contact. He clearly knew fashion, and what was sweeter than milking money from soone rich with good taste?
Sneaking a glance at his side profile, she was struck. He was hot, gorgeous, and familiar—like she’d seen him online sowhere. And he was gay, too. What did these gay n do to have such sizzling wealth?
Finally, she pushed forward a proper set just arrived from China’s most coveted stores. Daniel’s eyes remained fixed on his phone—still trying Charles, still getting ’switched off.’ It scared him.
"Should I look for him? But where would I go?" he wondered aloud.
He stopped when he saw the new clothes, and his eyes glimred imdiately. The designer saw hope.
"Now this is what I’m talking about—not that thrift wear you brought out earlier." It was a direct slap, but to achieve her goal, she faked a smile.
Daniel began sorting through them, unable to decide. For nearly an hour, he had the poor woman circling the room with clothes. Finally, he sighed.
"They’re beautiful, but sothing’s missing. That perfect one still isn’t here."
Just then, he caught sight of soone passing and got an idea.
"Adrian, dear. Co here."
The man mopping the floor with a tiny brush, sweating heavily, looked up and stood—but staggered, nearly collapsing.
"Oh dear Lord, Adrian, when last did you eat? Don’t starve yourself; I don’t want you dying yet." Daniel motioned impatiently. "Hurry up. I don’t have all day. My plans are moving forward, and I can’t be here battling with outfits."
Adrian Valez stood before Daniel, waiting like an obedient slave. His body was lean, malnourished in places, shaking slightly. Giving up on choosing himself, Daniel passed the task to him.
"Now, be a good dog and help choose my party dress."
Adrian bowed, the collar around his neck blinking and beeping as he turned and bent down—a sharp pain in his joints making him freeze montarily.
The designer flinched, traumatized by such inhuman treatnt. She was silently judging, not knowing who the victim was or what he’d done—only thinking how horrible Daniel was.
Then she saw Adrian’s face fully and gasped internally.
Jesus. Is that Adrian motherfucking Valez?
She facepald discreetly. Now she wasn’t judging anymore—that demon was a devil incarnate, the definition of evil. How he ended up this way was a mystery she didn’t want to decipher.
Goodness, I want to leave. Can’t he choose faster?
As if her prayers were answered, Adrian picked an outfit—two, actually—but one stood out magnificently.
Wait, I have that here? Why?
She couldn’t believe her eyes. It was a gorgeous, sexy ensemble that would not only highlight his looks but make him the star of the event, outshining the hosts themselves.
Daniel looked at Adrian, his expectations dashed—but not in disappointnt. This was a walking masterpiece.
It resembled a gown but wasn’t; trousers were underneath with baggy ends, and the back was backless—perfect for showing his glowing skin, the kind so people couldn’t afford in their next lifeti.
This was everything he wanted. Adrian was heaven-sent.
"Marvelous, Adrian. You surpassed my expectations—and I had zero for you. Not fuck—this is beautiful." He smiled. "As a reward, you have a week day off, and tonight you’ll be my right-hand man at the event."
Adrian gasped. "What about your husbands?"
Daniel waved it off. "Sothing big is happening tonight. I’m not bringing everyone. So will stay here and help. Only Xylander Wolfe will follow , Draven will drive, and Alexander and so friends will handle certain things. No need to say more."
Adrian nodded, but he was starving—he needed food desperately.
"Oh, Papa is hungry, isn’t he? Don’t worry—go to the dining area and eat to your satisfaction." Daniel winked, and Adrian staggered away, clutching his stomach.
Daniel then faced the designer. "Don’t mind him; he’s just out of place sotis." He flashed a smile.
She smiled back, freshly traumatized by the new information.
Husbands? Not just one, but two...
Then it registered—a na that clung to her mory, soone who’d shaken the internet and set all of New York talking.
Fuck. Is this Daniel Lancaster?
But Daniel had no ti for discussion. He needed to be sowhere in less than two hours, when the event would start.
"So, how much?" he asked.
The designer took a breath and relayed the price.
Unfazed, Daniel handed over his card. With shaky hands, she processed the paynt and watched him walk out without another word.
With a surge of excitent, she jumped to her feet, whispering to herself:
"This is my best day ever. I’m going to tell everyone—Daniel Lancaster is alive."
