Charles wasn’t himself after those brutal words. He tried telling himself that it was okay—that maybe the fault lay with the other guy. Maybe the guy was the one who needed help, maybe he couldn’t even get it up. He tried to rationalize it, but the pains from his past attacked anyway.

"You’re one ugly duckling. Who would want a person like you? I would rather die than spend seconds with you." He kept rembering those painful words.

Charles stood up but staggered back down; he needed soone to take him away from this place. He needed to pour his heart out, so he reached for his phone, crying hard.

Why , Lord? Why ? Am I really that undesirable? Was he right all along—that no matter what I do, I will never find soone who truly loves ? The thought shattered his heart. Despite having Draven and Daniel, they couldn’t be by his side forever. A day would co when they would be too busy with their own families, and he would be totally forgotten.

He sobbed harder. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t get his confidence back. Even with the facial lifting and the surgery he’d had, nothing felt improved.

"Daniel, please pick up..." he begged while dialing Draven’s line, only for it to go directly to voicemail. So, it was happening. They were becoming too busy to attend to him, and he would have to face this alone.

Staring at the hotel room, he gnashed his teeth for accepting the proposal in the first place—for trying to get laid with a stranger. It was his fault for getting insulted; after all, he didn’t even have a profile and constantly hid himself. What was he expecting? And was the guy’s na even Dante?

Deciding to leave the hotel and find sowhere far away to drown his sorrows, he harshly snatched his phone from the glass table. He walked away with an aloof expression, doing everything he could to hide his tears and wash his eyes so no one would know he’d been crying.

When he felt he looked "perfect," he forced a smile, waving at people who passed his room as he pushed through the door. He didn’t even bother to return the hotel card. Once outside, he looked back at the building from afar and sighed. This would forever be in his mory. He wouldn’t forget what that fucking asshole did to him. Never.

Seeing that another round of fresh tears was coming, he quickly walked further down to the main road to find a cab. One finally halted, and he walked straight to it, not bothering to say a word to the driver. He simply collapsed into the seat and stared at the sky through the window, reminiscing on his miserable life.

The driver called to him several tis, but Charles didn’t answer. Finally, the driver shouted at him.

"Young man, if you’re depressed, get the fuck out! I can’t do my business standing here waiting for an unwilling custor." He slamd on the brakes, waiting for an answer.

Charles sighed. The man wouldn’t understand; he never would. "Take to the closest bar you know. That will be more than enough," he said. The driver nodded and drove off.

anwhile, Daniel began to call back. Charles, whose mind was far away, didn’t notice until the loud voice of the driver broke through his consciousness again.

"For fuck’s sake, take the damn call! The ringtone is disturbing my ears!" the driver scread, making Charles flinch.

Goodness, did he wake up on the wrong side of the bed? What is it with all the screaming?

He checked the phone and saw it was Daniel. Before answering, he felt conflicted. Was answering in a cab a good idea? He wasn’t in the mood for more judgntal looks. Then, he let the thought go.

Fuck them. He picked up the call, placed it to his ear, and began to share his troubles.

"What is it again? Did sothing happen? You were happy earlier this evening—what changed?" Daniel asked.

Charles began sniffling. "Am I bad? Do I look terrible and undesirable?"

On the other end, Daniel was shocked. Undesirable? Charles McCall? How was that even possible?

"What happened? You don’t sound like yourself, Charles. Talk to , I’m listening," Daniel probed, trying to get him to reveal what was hurting him before he was swallowed by it. "It can’t be that bad, right?"

As soon as he said those words, Charles finally lost it and burst into heavy tears. "Daniel, I can’t take this anymore! I don’t think love is for !"

He continued rambling, but just as Daniel asked another question, the phone betrayed him. It switched off at that exact mont.

"Damn it! Damn you, phone! Fuck you!" Out of anger, he wanted to hurl the phone from his hands, but rembering the price of a repair or a brand-new one, he sucked it up. He took a deep breath, accepting his miserable fate.

Finally, the cab stopped at the entrance of a buzzing building. He didn’t know if it was a bar or a club, but it was what he needed to forget the midnight mishap. Paying the grumpy driver, he moved from the road into the house. Once inside, he sighed in content.

The music and the atmosphere soothed his soul. Now, it was ti to drink and party the pain away. He went to the bar section and stopped, eting a shirtless bartender with beautiful eyes and a handso face. Charles was too pained to focus, but while trying to ask for a drink, his eyes mistakenly fell on the man’s muscles. He didn’t even realize he was licking his lips.

Fuck, those are so sweet muscles. How can soone look so fit and delicious at the sa ti?

"What should I mix up for you?" the shirtless Greek god asked.

With his mouth watering, Charles responded, stuttering, "Anything strong."

As he tried to look away, the guy did sothing Charles wouldn’t forget: he winked. It was so sexy that Charles felt his knees go weak. Unable to withstand the intensity, he actually stumbled, only to be caught by another shirtless guy who stared at him eye-to-eye. Charles completely lost his mind.

"Where are all these n coming from?"

With a quick movent, he stood on his feet, stepping a few ters away from the man who caught him.

The man smiled. "Hi, my na is Thomas. And you?"
