It was as if his heart stopped beating as the eyes of the beast glowed in the dark. It was ominous, and Daniel himself didn’t know whether to go forward or to go back.
Back wasn’t an option; soon Matt would be on his trail, so he needed to get out of the place as fast as possible. Only if he could recognize where he was taken to.
Alex grunted in his embrace, his eyes threatening to close permanently, but Daniel refused to let it happen. He forcefully held his eyes open because he knew that if anything happened which made Alex close his eyes, then it was over.
"We can do this. Just through this, and I promise we shall be back in the real world," Daniel whispered. Though he was shaking within, he wouldn’t back down yet, and shockingly, since they had been standing there, the shadow didn’t attack. So he decided to take the bull by the horns and move forward.
He guided Alex and moved closer and closer until it beca dawn to him that it wasn’t an animal or hyenas waiting to consu them, just a mannequin that he had hallucinated to be a beast.
Gosh, and they must have wasted ti standing over nothing. Then he imdiately took Alexander and bolted once more.
And as he did, there was no looking back. His heart was beating, his chest pounding as his stomach began to hurt, and Alex finally spoke through the run.
"Just leave and escape. If we continue this, you won’t reach far, and we can’t let Matt get you again." Alex’s voice ca out broken.
It was amidst gasps and hard breath.
"Enough, Alex! Why are you discouraging when you’re supposed to tell that we shall reach the end of this journey together? Are you really this easy to get? Will you just fucking give up like this and allow that prick to win?" Daniel yelled.
Just as Daniel was reprimanding him, soone ran to him and clutched his hands tightly. It was Damian.
"Run now! Matt is coming with ten dangerously ard n and two of the hyenas are on their way here." Imdiately he said that, growls ca out from a far distance with the sharp footsteps and gunshots in the air.
"Daniel Lancaster, I will kill you wherever you are! You think you can play for a fool? Impossible!" The voice resounded several tis from afar as it echoed like a chant.
Alex didn’t let Daniel hold on to him, and he freed himself.
"I can walk now. I will try to...." Alex lunged, limping so bad as he took the gun that Daniel was holding.
Damian had joined them; it seed like he had considered Daniel’s words and knew the consequences of Matt getting to him. So the race begun.
"Now, run!!!" Alexander yelled, and they all began. The hyenas ran after them, sprinting with deadly speed.
Daniel didn’t look back as the fear of what was close by consud him, and when it seed the hyenas were coming so close, Alex lunged and released the bullets from the gun.
Right there, he blasted them off and tore through their flesh with the forbidden weapon.
Hearing the sound of wailing from his beasts, Matt scread.
"Noo!!!!" But it was too late; Alexander had jumped away and left two dead at for him.
Matt’s face squeezed in fury and hate as his eyes burned. And he made more signs with his hands.
"Kill all of them, I command you." And all his n rushed out at once.
Daniel beca tired and exhausted; his stomach was hurting too much, and his legs turned so shaky. Alex, who was being tortured earlier, was now suddenly taking in the run more than him.
"The babies... they’re hitting..." Daniel scread the more, and Alex’s face drained of all shades of color.
"Can’t you move again? Please, you have to endure. This is the worst place to stay and rest." Surrounding them were shrubs with deadly body parts. Cactus grew there strangely, plants that were ant to be in deserts. All this made the place more dangerous.
"Okay, climb on my back. I will take it from here. No one shall have you again over my dead body." Then he squatted on the floor, giving Daniel ti to climb on, and he tightened his hands around him protectively.
Damian watched them like a spectator before a gunshot tore through the air and, before he could know what was happening, a bullet passed through his forehead and he fell down dead, his head exploded like a matter.
Before the n chasing them could know what was up, Alexander turned like a feral beast, shooting in the air like a deranged person, not caring on whom got shot. At this point, every one of them would die; no one would survive him this night.
One by one they fell, bleeding, convulsing, and shaking as they collapsed on the floor. Still, they weren’t able to get to Daniel and Alex.
Daniel saw the corpse of Damian before they bolted, and he felt bad for the young beauty. His life was cut short just because of them, and the fact remains that his family might never make it out because he was certain, as a repaynt, Matteo was heading to the families of the poor boy to wipe them off from the surface of the earth.
Alex’s knees buckled; thorns tore at his legs and he bled so badly on the way as he lost a good amount of blood while running. He was giving up slowly, could feel it all going numb, but Daniel reaching safety was his priority for now.
"Alexander, the baby..."
Damn it, why do the contractions have to hit now of all tis, why now....
Alex got out of the woods, and what greeted him was the fresh air, a cool breeze that blew his blonde hair to his face, but he swung it out furiously.
His eyes rummaged around, and he saw a boat. The water was a raging one, but with the boat and careful paddling, he was sure that Daniel would arrive safely at his destination.
He hadn’t finished going to the boat and setting it up when a bullet passed through his back, making him scream...
Matt took charge and began to shoot consecutively, pouring in bullets as much as he could, but before Alex could collapse or move, his eyes burned with tears.
"I love you, Daniel...." And he pushed the boat deeper into the water, making the latter, Daniel himself, scream.
"Nooo, Alexander!!!!"
