Help! My Male Employees Are Having Babies! Chapter 84: Family Support

Dr. Walt Stafford was going through his morning cases when he read Elton’s file. This hit a little too close to ho for comfort—he was going to try to help Elton any and every way he could.

Walt walked into the exam room, where he found Elton with his hands in his lap. Sitting next to him was Raymond, holding the most precious gem in the world—little Ray. He put on his best doctor face and introduced himself, shaking Elton and Raymond’s hands and playing with little Ray.

He had Elton’s file in his hand when he took a seat. "Elton, I have read your file, and you’ve had a rough ti, but that young man your husband holds looks like he might’ve been worth everything you went through." He glanced at the baby with a warm smile. "We don’t have many Genn patients because of the cost, but Mr. Hawthorne has already said that is not an option in your case, nor is it your problem. I’m going to help you."

Dr. Stafford leaned forward slightly. "First, I will need you to change into a gown so I can send you down for a scanning image of your pelvic area and back. Then I’ll bring you back here and do a physical exam on you. I might need to see if you can be adjusted to relieve so of the pressure on the nerve that is causing you pain, discomfort, and your limp. I can’t promise a miracle, but I hope I can deliver one."

He turned to Raymond. "Mr. Reynolds, it will be a few minutes for him to have his exam and his test. If you would like to go sit down with the baby in the waiting room with your other guests, I’ll call you back as soon as I know sothing. Don’t worry—he’s in good hands. I guarantee you that."

Raymond leaned over and gave Elton a kiss. "We will be out front for you. Ray and I love you, so let the doctor do what he can."

"I’ll do my best. I hope I don’t disappoint you," Elton said, his voice cracking.

"You could never disappoint . Ray and I will be praying for the best." Raymond hugged him tightly.

Dr. Stafford was all business. He did a preliminary exam and sent Elton to the imaging center next door. Elton was definitely scared—he didn’t know what these machines were for, whether they would help him or hurt him or harm him. He had no idea. Walt stuck his head up to the window and tapped on it to let Elton know that he was there. He gave Elton a thumbs up.

"Take a deep breath—we’re about to start the exam," the technician said.

The imaging process took almost thirty minutes and was quite detailed. So of the contrasting dyes made Elton very nauseous. They were made for humans, not the humanoid Genn, so there were differences in how the bodies reacted.

The imaging systems were completed, and as Walt waited on the results, he had Elton taken back to his office so that Raymond could have a short visit with him.

Elton was sick—the tests were rough on his body. Raymond assured him that this was for the best. If anyone could help him, it would be Dr. Stafford and the center. Ed and Carter were keeping little Ray amused in the waiting area. Carter couldn’t believe how cute one child could be, and before long this would be his and Ed’s life as parents, with him as a stepfather to Tim’s child.

Raymond went back to the waiting room while Dr. Stafford did a complete physical workup on Elton after he got the results from the scans.

Elton was lying flat on his back—well, as flat as he could since his hip and leg hurt him so badly. Dr. Stafford placed a strap on Elton’s left foot, then had an assistant place loop straps under each shoulder area. He placed a ratchet pulling strap on a loop located on the strap of Elton’s left foot.

He repositioned Elton on the table and had Elton cross his arms and hold them against his chest. "Elton, you’re going to feel a little bit of a pull on your left side as I tighten the strap attached to your left foot and slowly pull that side of your body."

Dr. Stafford began the procedure carefully. "What I found out is your left pelvic area is out of alignnt. When Genn give birth, the pelvis moves outward as the baby cos through, but it looks like Ray was too large and your left hip and pelvis locked, causing it to pinch off a nerve on your left side of your body. That’s where all your pain is coming from, and that’s where your limp is coming from and why you can’t feel anything on that one side. This situation has caused what is known as slack vent."

"That is a special nerve in your lower back that controls your functions—it’s also pinched, causing you to have slack vent," he explained.

"What is slack vent, Dr. Stafford? I don’t understand." Elton had a concerned look.

"It’s a term that we use when your vent won’t go back to normal after the birth—why it’s nonreactive and loose. Hopefully, if we can get your hip back out and in alignnt with your pelvic bone, that will release both nerves. Not only will you not have any pain associated with your limp, but it will cause your vent to go back to normal status as if you had never had any children."

"Whatever you decide, Dr. Stafford, my health is in your hands now. Do the best you can." Elton was totally lost.

"Well, you ca to the best, all right—that’s for sure, and I’m going to fix you right up. Hopefully, when we’re through here, you will be able to walk out to that waiting room to greet your husband and your son with no limp, no loose vent, and no pain." Dr. Stafford’s confidence was reassuring. "But there are a few rules that must be followed. You need to co back and see in a month. Until I give you the clearance, no sex. If everything goes right after your one-month exam, you will not conceive a child for six months to let your body heal. When you do conceive a child and birth it, I want to see you here for a complete checkup, plus I will et this new young child—because if he’s anything like this one here, he’ll be beautiful."

Elton didn’t know what to tell Dr. Stafford. Ray was not Raymond’s son—they had only been seeing each other a very short period of ti, and as far as having a child, that wasn’t even a consideration yet.
