Lex opened the door and walked inside of the exam room followed by Dr. Clark Wooten. Lying on the table was Stephen.

Stephen was a bit surprised to see soone with Lex—usually it was just Lex by himself. As he was introduced to Dr. Wooten from the Hawthorne Hospital in the city, he was very apprised.

Clark took a seat beside the exam table and talked to Stephen like they were long lost friends. "I’m honored to et you, Stephen. I work at the main hospital, Hawthorne dical Center. I have been invited by Lex to watch your exam to learn from him about Genn and the gestation of Genn children. If this is okay with you, I would like to be part of it." He paused thoughtfully. "Would you mind placing my hand up on your stomach to feel how the baby is positioned and how your body is handling the pregnancy at this ti?"

Stephen looked at him. "I don’t care. I’m just a knocked up Genn, not a big deal. I chose to spread my vent and let him have it, and here I am five months later raising the kid on my own just the way I wanted it."

"You were correct, Lex—he is a fireball," Clark said, addressing the young man. Clark laid his hand up on Stephen’s swollen belly and he felt the baby move, then a slight kick. "Sounds like you got a little rascal inside you. Feels like he’s kind of doing the tap dance around the place."

Stephen looked at Dr. Wooten’s hand on his belly and remarked, "Look at this, doc." Stephen placed his hand on top of Dr. Wooten’s and the baby went wild. Stephen removed his hand and the baby settled down.

"This is not to hurt anybody—leave your hand there, Clark. I want to run the scanner over top of it that way you can see the position of the baby," Lex instructed.

Clark couldn’t believe what he saw on the imaging. First the baby placed its palm directly against his hand above, then it rotated its body as if to be cradled by Clark’s hand.

Clark was amazed—he couldn’t believe what he could see with his naked eye. The child inside of this young Genman felt safe within his palm.

"Okay, we can get this started because I need to get back ho," Stephen looked around. "Donnie might be fixing a big al as usual and I don’t want to be late because he gets to be a real bitch when I am."

"So that’s your partner—his na is Donnie?" Clark remarked.

"Oh no, doc, he’s my roommate. He’s pregnant by sobody, I’m pregnant by sobody else. To save space and make it easy on us, we’re rooming together and we intend to raise the babies as cousins. But I’m not with anyone whatsoever—not into that scene." Stephen brightened. "But if you’re open for dinner, I know there will be plenty and Donnie always likes a new victim to try out his recipes on. Besides, when I’m through here, you can walk over with and I can show you around if Lex doesn’t mind."

Lex started the scan and showed Clark everything he could. He showed the complete child that Stephen was carrying and what the estimated size of the child at delivery would be according to the scanner. Clark was very impressed—in fact, he was amazed at this technology they didn’t have in the human world.

Lex finished up the scanner and told Stephen that everything was right on track, everything looked great. "Go ahead and get dressed, and when you’re through, co on out and Clark will be waiting on you to show him around."

Stephen was actually excited. He didn’t know why, but he felt at ease around Dr. Wooten like they had known each other for years. He even felt himself get a little moist when the man put his hand on his stomach. But he was human—that’s one thing he didn’t want to do, was to go human.

Clark was sitting in Lex’s office when Stephen knocked on the door.

"Co on inside, Stephen, we’re all here," ca the response.

"Well, I guess we’re ready to leave for a little while and you can have supper. If you survive Donnie’s cooking, you can go ho and sleep it off where you’re staying," Stephen said with a grin.

"Don’t worry about it, Clark. Just co back to the main house and Jarvis will be up late—he’ll show you to your room. Looks like you’re staying the weekend, correct if I’m wrong," Lex interjected.

"You would be correct. I am staying and I’ll go back Monday with Hanz—he’ll drop at the hospital," Clark confird.

"Okay, you two go have fun. Don’t get in trouble, but have fun this weekend," Lex said with a knowing smile.

No sooner had the door shut than Lex knew that those two were going to get in trouble. There was no doubt in his mind—the way Stephen’s body was reacting on the scanner, the baby was reacting, and the flush that he saw in Clark Wooten. It was going to be a very rough weekend on sobody, maybe two sobody’s.

Donnie was in the kitchen when Stephen opened the door. "Hey, roomie, I hope you’re hungry. I cooked enough for an army. This recipe is a little bit different but I’ve got plenty." Then he realized Stephen wasn’t alone—there was a damn good-looking man with him. "We have plenty for your company also if he’s staying for supper."

Stephen blushed. "Donnie, I’d like you to et Dr. Clark Wooten from the Hawthorne dical Center. He brought in a new delivery chair that he designed for Genn for the center here, and he even got to see in all my glory and my baby also."

"And you’re still hungry after seeing him, Mr. Blimp in the making?" Donnie teased. "He must have chosen the biggest breeder there was around to knock him up." Then Donnie started laughing. "Like I’ve got a lot of room to talk—he’s a month further along than and I’m already bigger. But that’s okay, Lex says I’ve got hips that you could drive a starship through and wouldn’t even scrape the paint on the fenders."

Clark shook Donnie’s hand and laughed. "I’ve had limited interaction with Genn. The first one was Daniel when he delivered, then I delivered Martin’s twins today at the hospital and we brought him ho."

"Oh, crap, you an Martin was at work when he went into labor? What did the big guy do? Was he okay? He wasn’t freaking out or anything, was he?" Donnie asked with concern.

"No, in fact he did wonderful. He tried out the prototype delivery chair and from the ti he sat down to the ti the second one ca out was 7½ minutes. He didn’t have to grunt, he didn’t have to push, he didn’t do anything. It was just like his body was relaxed in that natural position and they just slid right out." Clark paused. "I’m not saying that his vent isn’t going to be sore for a couple of days from being stretched, but he did wonderful."

"We have to make a point tomorrow afternoon to go see them, and I need to take him a big al. And I do an big because that’s a big household," Donnie said thoughtfully.

"Now Stephen, if you want to show Clark where the restroom is so that we all can clean up, wash up, do whatever you want to do in there, just don’t take too long. I’m setting the table and we’re having supper," Donnie announced.
