Help! I'm in Another World and the Dragon Man Want Me To Get Pregnant! Chapter 36: An Invitation to Drakthar Dominion
Shen Xinghui felt all the blood drain from his face.
He was far too weak to defend himself.
The one skill he had was the very thing that could put him in danger.
If soone kidnapped him, he’d have no way to resist, no way to stop what would happen to him.
The thought of being used, of being made to bear children against his will—it was terrifying.
A cold shiver ran down his spine.
This wasn’t a gift.
It was a curse.
"It’s best to only share this information with soone you deeply trust and genuinely feel comfortable having children with," the nun said gently, clasping Shen Xinghui’s trembling hands. "If possible, it would be ideal if they belong to one of the endangered species. They tend to have wealth and even having one child for them would ensure you’re well cared for."
Her words were ant to comfort him, but they only added to the complex weight on Shen Xinghui’s shoulders.
When Shen Xinghui staggered out of the church, Ignatius was waiting for him outside.
His concerned expression softened as he approached.
"How did it go?" Ignatius asked, his dark eyes filled with kindness and strength.
Shen Xinghui looked into those eyes—gentle, steady, and compassionate.
Ignatius was soone struggling with the inability to have children and Shen Xinghui knew that of all the people in this world, Ignatius was the only one he felt he could trust.
Thinking back to the night they had spent together, Shen Xinghui didn’t feel disgusted or repelled.
If given enough ti, he could probably grow accustod to this connection.
Besides, Shen Xinghui admitted to himself that he liked Ignatius quite a bit.
But there was another fear.
What if Ignatius discovered Shen Xinghui’s skill and started seeing him differently?
What if Shen Xinghui was reduced to being viewed as nothing more than a tool to bear children?
What if Ignatius begged him to have children and treated him like so kind of commodity?
The thought of that happening, of their current bond shattering, terrified him.
Shen Xinghui wasn’t just a skill—he was a person, fragile and unsure, unable to compartntalize his feelings so neatly.
"Xinghui?" Ignatius called softly, breaking his thoughts.
"...They didn’t find anything," Shen Xinghui lied, forcing a weak smile. "They worked really hard and double-checked several tis, but it turns out I don’t have any skills."
The decision to hide the truth ca suddenly, but it felt necessary.
This world was still foreign to him, filled with uncertainties and dangers he didn’t fully understand.
Ignatius reached out and patted Shen Xinghui’s shoulder gently. "You don’t have to be so down about it. Let’s head back to the inn and rest. You’ve had a long day, and it’s clearly taken a toll on you."
"Yes," Shen Xinghui murmured.
Inside his heart, th guilt gnawed at him.
He apologized silently in his heart.
Ignatius was soone who had helped him, soone he owed so much to.
If Shen Xinghui revealed the truth, he could offer Ignatius what he wanted most—a family.
Wasn’t that supposed to be a joyous thing?
However, Shen Xinghui couldn’t bring himself to do it.
He wasn’t ready.
He was too scared.
As they walked back, Shen Xinghui kept his head down, and Ignatius stayed by his side while occasionally ruffling his hair in a comforting gesture.
The first day in the capital passed quietly.
They ate dinner and drank a little at the inn, but the heavy weight of Shen Xinghui’s thoughts never lifted.
The future lood over him, filled with uncertainties.
His skill was useless for finding a job and had to remain hidden.
Ignatius had helped him so much, but Shen Xinghui couldn’t rely on him forever.
More than that, he felt like a burden, unable to contribute or provide support in return.
"Xinghui, you don’t need to be so hard on yourself," Ignatius said softly, noticing his dejection.
"But..."
Shen Xinghui knew he couldn’t afford to hesitate.
Tomorrow, he would visit the governnt office again and ask the kind woman there to help him find a live-in job.
He even decided to consider working at a restaurant if necessary.
"Xinghui," Ignatius said again, more firmly this ti.
"Yes?" Shen Xinghui replied, startled.
Shen Xinghui felt a gentle tap on his shoulder and turned to look at Ignatius, who gazed at him with concern.
Perhaps Ignatius had called his na multiple tis and Shen Xinghui hadn’t noticed it.
"Xinghui, I’ve been thinking about the future," Ignatius began.
"Oh..."
"If you’re willing, how about continuing to travel with for a little while longer?" Ignatius suggested.
"What?" Shen Xinghui blinked, taken aback.
This offer didn’t make sense to him.
There was no benefit for Ignatius in bringing soone like Shen Xinghui along.
Supporting and looking out for soone as inexperienced as him would only slow Ignatius down.
Ignatius was strong, capable, and well-established.
Surely traveling alone would be far easier.
"But I..." Shen Xinghui began hesitantly.
"Skills and stats aren’t everything," Ignatius said kindly. "Besides, you’re very charming and people naturally feel drawn to you. Numbers don’t define your worth, so there’s no need to feel so down."
Shen Xinghui’s heart wavered.
Ignatius was so kind, it felt almost unfair.
On top of being kind, he was handso, strong, and even a prince.
"While you were at the church, I visited the Adventurers’ Guild," Ignatius continued. "Unfortunately, there weren’t any good quests available. So I’ve been thinking—it might be ti to return to my country."
"Your country?" Shen Xinghui echoed.
"The Dragon Man Country," Ignatius clarified. "It’s called Drakthar Dominion, rember? My holand."
Shen Xinghui recalled the na.
"It’s about a twenty-day journey on foot from here, just across the border into the neighboring kingdom."
"That’s... even more reason not to bring along," Shen Xinghui protested.
It had already taken five days to reach the capital, and he had been a burden the entire way.
A twenty-day journey?
With his limited stamina and slower pace, it would surely take even longer.
