Standing beside her was an unfamiliar elven man with a kind, serene face.

He watched her with quiet affection.

It was obvious: Seraphina was happy now, truly.

"Morin," ca another voice.

"Nyx."

"Give material."

"...Huh?"

His sister Nyx was... unique.

A novelist by trade, she loved collecting stories—whether it was how their parents fell in love, tales from the mansion, or tidbits from the lives of their siblings.

And she turned them into popular books.

Outside of her research, though, she was very much a shut-in.

"Material, you say?"

"You’re staying in the Republic of Mara now, aren’t you? And that man with you—he’s a total demon heartthrob, isn’t he?"

Nyx, Morin’s sister, pointed straight at Malvis as she spoke.

The rest of the siblings turned their eyes toward him as well.

Malvis took a slight step back.

While these were Morin’s siblings, for Malvis, they were complete strangers.

Maybe he was scared... or just tense.

Morin quickly stepped beside him, took his hand gently, and led him forward to stand before his siblings.

"Morin, who’s this?" Vaelrik asked, his eyes fixed on Malvis.

Vaelrik, unlike Morin who took after their mother, had inherited their father’s sharp features and commanding presence.

Tall and built like the soldier he was, he naturally radiated authority.

It might’ve been a bit intimidating for soone eting him for the first ti.

Morin thought he should step in to ease the tension, but before he could say anything, Malvis spoke in a calm—if slightly stiff—voice.

"My na is Malvis, son of Malrik, king of the Republic of Mara. I have the honor of being close to Morin. It’s a pleasure to et you all."

His voice was firm, though there was the slightest tremble in his hand.

Still, he managed to say it.

Malvis, who had always been nervous around strict or formal settings, had faced it head-on. Morin couldn’t help but smile.

He was proud—proud that Malvis hadn’t been crushed by his trauma, proud that all the practice and training had led to this mont.

Malvis, too, looked relieved, and when his eyes t Morin’s, he smiled—genuinely and warmly.

"The pleasure is ours. Thank you for taking care of our brother," Vaelrik said, offering a formal nod. "I am Vaelrik, son of King Ignatius of the Black Dragons. These are our sisters, Seraphina and Nyx. Welco to our country."

It was rare to see Vaelrik acting so princely, so formal.

He usually ca across much more relaxed and easygoing.

But of course—he was a prince, after all.

Morin had a small realization: Can I do the sa?

As a prince of the Black Dragon royal family—and as soone who will stand beside Malvis?

A flicker of doubt crept in, but he reminded himself: if he didn’t believe he could, he never would.

He needed to grow too—to change.

The coronation ceremony that followed was solemn and dignified.

Morin’s father received the king’s crown and scepter from his grandfather, while his mother, standing beside him, accepted a tiara from Morin’s grandmother.

Then the two of them stepped forward and gave their formal addresses to the gathered crowd.

Next ca the appointnt of the crown prince.

Morin’s older brother, Kaelion, received his crown directly from their father.

At the post-ceremony banquet, Morin introduced Malvis to Kaelion.

Malvis even managed to hold a proper conversation with him.

His expressions had relaxed a little—maybe he was gaining so confidence.

Morin felt a sense of relief at the calm deanor Malvis showed.

Still, approaching their parents was another matter entirely.

Morin hesitated, unsure of how to bridge the distance.

Fortunately, they were inford there would be a private family gathering that evening.

It was as if their parents already understood the situation—and that comforted both Morin and Malvis.

That evening, Kaelion, looking tired, gave his farewells to Morin and quietly told Malvis, "Please visit again. You’re always welco," before retiring.

He looked weighed down by sothing—troubled in a way he hadn’t shared yet.

In the family’s private sitting room were Morin’s sisters, Seraphina and Nyx, Vaelrik, Gavi, their mother, and their father.

"Morin!"

"Mother!"

His mother stood up and quickly embrace him.

As a human, he was now smaller than Morin—but to him, he was always radiant, kind, and beautiful.

His beloved mother.

"I’ve heard from Qi Yu about your ti abroad. You’re doing well," she said.

"I am, Mother."

"Even Lysander was worried about you. But you have apologized properly, didn’t you?"

"Ah, well... that is..."

He’d clearly been caught—he had broken the rules, after all.

His eyes darted nervously, but then his mother gently patted his head and gave him a soft, loving smile.

"You’ve done it well," he said.

"...Yeah. Thanks, Mother."

He always saw how hard he tried.

He always praised him for his efforts.

Morin adored him for that.

His father stood beside him, nodding his head with approval as he looked at Morin, then turned his gaze to Malvis.

"Malvis, thank you for looking after Morin. I know your mother, Qi Yu. I’ve heard a great deal about you from him. You are very welco here."

"I’m honored, Your Majesty," Malvis replied while bowing his head.

"Please, no need for the title. I’m still getting used to it myself. And you don’t need to be so formal around us, just call Uncle Iganatius."

With a gentle smile, the king ruffled Morin’s hair.

His large hand was warm, and Morin found it deeply comforting.

"Now, though this is a family occasion, I do have two people I’d like to formally introduce. Gavi, co forward."

At his father’s call, Gavi stepped forward.

Vaelrik stood proudly at his side.

Vaelrik had been in love with Gavi since they were children, having fallen for him at first sight.

Morin had known for a long ti, and he had always quietly rooted for them.

Their story didn’t feel like soone else’s—it felt personal.

"This ti, Vaelrik will be marrying into the household of the Golden Dragons. Since today is such a good opportunity, I thought it was ti for a proper introduction."

Startled, Morin turned to look at his brother Vaelrik.

His brother looked a little embarrassed, and beside him, Gavi’s pale cheeks were blushing.

"That’s wonderful news, Brother," said Seraphina with a bright smile.

"Thank you, Seraphina."

"Give us the juicy details, brother," Nyx teased.

"You never change, do you, Nyx?" Vaelrik sighed in mock exasperation, though the happy smile on his face never faded.

At that mont, Gavi stepped forward and approached Morin directly, his face lighting up with a gentle smile.

"Thank you, Morin."

"Huh?"

"It’s thanks to you that I was able to be with Vaelrik."

"What do you an?" Morin blinked his eyes in confusion.

He had no idea what she was talking about.

His gaze shifted toward Vaelrik, who gave a sheepish, almost guilty smile.

"You rember the commotion you caused at Uncle Gabriel’s place? That incident ended up being the spark that brought and Gavi together."

"Whaaat?!"

"You never know what kind of chaos might bring fortune," their father added with a wry smile, though he didn’t seem angry at all.

Morin, on the other hand, was caught between embarrassnt and disbelief.

His eyes flicked around the room, unable to settle.
