Julius recoiled, nostrils flaring. "You’re so eager to seduce other n," he sneered, but his voice wavered slightly, his fingers curling into fists.

Riven was about to throw out another snarky remark when suddenly, Julius grabbed him by the collar.

"Hey—!"

Before Riven could react, he was shoved backwards into his own room. The door slamd shut behind them, rattling from the force.

"What the hell—"

Julius didn’t give him the chance to finish. He crushed their lips together, kissing Riven with an aggression that was almost desperate.

For a second, Riven was too stunned to react. Then, he bit down. Hard.

Julius flinched, a sharp hiss escaping him as the tallic taste of blood filled the air. But he didn’t stop.

Even with pain lacing his mouth, he kept kissing Riven.

That was when Riven had enough. He might’ve been stuck in this body, but he was still a wolf—literally and figuratively.

With a burst of strength, he shoved Julius off.

Julius stumbled back, wiping his mouth where the bite had broken skin. Blood sared across his fingers, his chest heaving.

For a mont, there was silence.

Then Riven chuckled. "You called embarrassing for being a half-breed... But I think you’re even more pathetic for falling for one."

Julius stiffened.

Riven took a slow step forward, tilting his head mockingly. "What would happen if everyone knew?"

Julius’s expression darkened instantly. He clenched his fists, jaw tightening like he wanted to say sothing—anything. But nothing ca out.

Riven could practically see the war inside Julius’s head. Denial. Fury. Panic.

Oh, this was fun.

Riven took another step forward, lowering his voice to sothing almost sympathetic. "What? Does seeing my face remind you of how you, the heir to the title, fell for a man? Does the thought of you obsessing over fill you with disgust and anger?"

Julius sucked in a sharp breath, his entire body tensing. His fingers twitched at his sides like he wanted to strangle Riven or maybe pull him close again. Who knew with this psycho?

Riven grinned wider. "You know, I was curious. Why soone like you—who’s so desperate to prove himself as the perfect noble heir—always went out of his way to pick on . I thought maybe you were just a sadist. But now I get it."

He took one last step forward, just to see Julius flinch back.

"You’re just a coward."

Julius flinched like the words physically struck him.

"You can’t face the truth, so instead of owning up to your feelings, you lash out." Riven’s voice turned mocking. "How tragic. The heir of the Veldrin family, secretly pining after his half-breed stepbrother. If this were a book, the angst would be suffocating."

Julius still didn’t say anything. He looked like he’d been stripped naked. His deepest secret, the thing he’d probably spent years pushing down, was out in the open. And Riven wasn’t going to let him escape it.

"I’m half a wolf," Riven added, smirking. "But my bite will be twice as painful, so don’t try ."

Julius didn’t move. Didn’t even breathe.

Riven snorted. "No clever coback? What a sha." He turned on his heel, stepping past Julius like he was nothing more than a forgotten nuisance.

Julius still didn’t stop him.

Riven grabbed a cup from the water basin in the corner, rinsing his mouth to rid himself of the tallic taste of blood. When he turned back, Julius was still standing there, staring at the floor like the aning of life had just been rewritten in front of him.

Riven was satisfied with the result.

The original Riven had spent his whole life getting trampled on, suffering in silence while everyone treated him like he was so shaful stain on the family na. But not anymore. Not on his watch.

He had just delivered a swift emotional gut punch to Julius, and it was delicious.

If he focused really hard, he could still hear the sound of Julius’s pride shattering into tiny, pitiful pieces.

Poor guy. Must be rough realising you’ve been in love with soone you called a "filthy half-breed" for years.

Riven bit back a laugh.

Julius had looked so stupid standing there, all stiff and shocked, as if Riven had just slapped him with a wet fish.

He almost felt bad for him.

Almost.

But then he rembered all the years of bullying, the insults, the unnecessary shoulder-checks in the hallway, the stupid smug smirks Julius used to give him whenever their father praised him and ignored Riven.

So, nah. Screw him.

And speaking of people who needed to suffer—there was still his dear father.

Riven’s smirk widened.

That old man was long overdue for a reality check.

The day would co when he would be the one left speechless, humiliated in front of the whole world. Riven would make sure of it.

Maybe he’d ruin his reputation. Or maybe he’d just outlive him out of pure spite. Honestly, so many options.

As he descended the last few steps, he sighed dramatically.

"Ah, revenge is a dish best served petty."

A nearby servant jumped at his sudden words, nearly dropping the silverware they were carrying.

Riven snickered.

Julius stood frozen in Riven’s room, fists clenched so tight his nails dug into his palms. His breath ca out ragged, his entire body trembling with sothing he couldn’t na—fury, humiliation, desire, or perhaps all three twisted into sothing unbearable.

Riven’s words echoed in his mind, sharp as claws raking across his pride.

"You called embarrassing for being a half-breed... But I think you’re even more pathetic for falling for one."

Julius gritted his teeth.

He was the heir, the one who had been chosen. The one who had been ant to inherit everything. His father had made that clear from the start—Riven was undeserving. A failure, a stain on the family na. A half-breed mongrel who should have been cast aside the mont he was born.

Yet, even though Julius had everything, it never felt like enough. Because Riven should have been the heir.
