Chapter 94: Banquet Gift (2)

The servant girl rely shrugged and gestured for Serena to take the box, Serena looked at the box for long ti, wondering if it was Eiravyn who got a gift for her, because who else would giver her a gift box, she wondered. She could feel the curious gaze of the maids and servants already on her and on the box, Serena took the gift box with intricate flowery design from the girl, and alllwed her to leave since she looked like she had a lot to do.

When the girl left, Serena couldn’t help her own curiosity as she reached for the lid of the rectangular box and gently lifted it. A thin-silver chained necklace with a tiny teardrop sapphires made of diamond was nestled in the box’s silk lined interior, with a pair of matching regal earrings featuring sapphires and diamonds, was set at the top of the necklace.

Serena gently plucked the necklace out from the box after she was satisfied with gazing at the sheer beauty. She was so thrilled with looking at the parure set that she didn’t notice the gasped if surprise that ca from the maids in the room nor did she hear their whispers, She was so focused on the gift.

This was the very first ti soone gave her sothing that looked so precious and thoughtful that almost had her in tears, it was almost like she was the only one in the room. To say she was touched by the gift was an understatent to what she was currently feeling and she was sure that it was Eiravyn who gave her this as soon as she opened the box.

Serena tensed, her heart lurching into an uneven rhythm in her chest as she absorbed this gift, when she heard a loud excited cry from her behind.

"There’s still more inside, my lady!" the maids shouted.

This brought Serena out of her daydreaming and she imdiately checked inside the box. ’There was still more?’ She questioned herself, what else can there be when this was by far the most beautiful thing she ever received in her life?

She was still deep in her thoughts, and was trying to figure where the more the maid said was still there, Serena bent the gift box sideways, and then the other way when a note slipped out of the box, she didn’t know where the note ca from or if it ca with the box, but her instincts told her, it was probably together with the gift. She was about opening it when she realized that she had a crowd in her room, coupled with the fact that she didn’t know what was written inside the note, she reluctantly kept the note back before turning to the maids.

She realized that they too had seen the notes and was eagerly waiting for her to open and read it so they could read it as well, Serena looked at their sparkling, excited eyes, and wondered if it was safe to read the notes in their present and they looked excited like her, with the way they were looking at her now, Serena felt like she shouldn’t disappoint them.

Seconds turned into minutes, with Serena still deciding. Should she keep the note and read it later? Maybe after the banquet ended? She wondered, when another voice said to her, what if the information inside is supposed to guide you before the banquet and maybe it’s not even from Eiravyn. The more she thought about it, she decided to read it alone.

"Give so minutes." Serena ordered, she saw the little pout in the faces of the servants as they looked at her in disappointnt but Serena felt like she was doing the right thing.

Finally alone in the room, Serena shalessly opened the note and read the ssage scribbled neatly on the piece of parchnt whether or not it was for her.

To my ever beautiful Mate, and Queen,

After the incident that transpired in the royal house this morning, it made realize how deeply attached I am to you, this is the first ti I’m feeling this way and I might be going at it the wrong way but I hope you would ne patient with . I realize that I couldn’t wait to have you mind, body, and soul. I already have a part of your soul. But I still think it’s not enough. I can’t imagine what I would have done if you had left today, and I can easily say today was the toughest days in my entire life. I promise always to respect your feelings, and decisions, and to protect you at all costs. I would never do anything that would ever put you in danger. You and only you are my utmost priority and responsibility. I would die first before I break these promises to you.

Under this is my family heirloom and it belongs to my mother, it has been passed down for generations to be given to the daughters-in-law. I’m supposed to wait till the wedding day but I wanted to let you have this tonight.

I am yours as much as you’re mine, take my heart and do whatever you wish with it.

Your one and only mate, Eiravyn.

Serena gasped when she was done with reading the note, her heart lurching rapidly, as every words written in the ssage was being replayed in her head, again and again.

The echo of Eiravyn’s sincere ssage was so clear he might have been standing close to her and repeating the sa words on her ear. The ssage brought tears to her cheeks, as she didn’t expect the cold-looking vampire king to be this sweet, she didn’t think he could do sothing as thoughtful as this.

She could not help but flip the note around, and was surprised to find another ssage below that page.

We would be going sowhere before the banquet ceremony, my knight would pick you up when you’re ready.

Ensure to dress warmly. The ssage reads.
