Luotian Immortal Domain.
Jiang Family.
A group of grand and ancient buildings nestled amidst towering and rolling mountains. This place is the ancestral land of the Jiang Family in the Luotian Immortal Domain, where mbers of the Jiang family have lived from ancient tis to the present, generation after generation.
The density of the Dao rhy here is breathtaking.
In the deepest part of the Jiang family's ancestral grounds, in front of a house that looked ancient beyond asure, there grew a million-year-old vine that had long since beco sentient. Every hundred thousand years, it would bear a gourd, which always caused a fierce battle amongst the mbers of the Jiang Family.
Because these gourds were natural holy artifacts!
This was the foundation of the Jiang Family!
The so-called fierce battles were not in the form of ruthless struggles but internal competitions within the Jiang Family. A test of skills among the young people. The ultimate victor would receive this gourd.
Each gourd contained different divine abilities, showcasing the power of the old vine.
Within the Jiang Family, the old vine had a very high status, enjoying a position of respect second only to a few ancient ancestors.
Therefore, even though Jiang Caiyue could act like a demoness outside, running wild, once she returned here, in front of this old vine, she was always exceptionally obedient.
"Grandpa Vine, I've co to see you again!" Jiang Caiyue smiled sweetly at the old vine, a smile so pure and genuine that anyone who saw it would never believe it could co from Jiang Caiyue's face.
"Girl, you're back? It's been a long ti since I've seen you, hasn't it?" the old vine in front of the ancient house emitted a low and aged, yet vigorous, laugh.
"Right, right, I haven't been back for a long ti. I missed you, Grandpa Vine!" Jiang Caiyue had an expression of speaking her heartfelt thoughts.
The old vine chuckled again and then said, "Alright, I'll take your word for it. Here's a little gourd, you can have it for fun."
With that, a flash of light passed, and a yellowish little gourd appeared in front of Jiang Caiyue.
The gourd was just the right size for Jiang Caiyue's small hand, looking extrely lustrous and adorable. Jiang Caiyue expressed her joy, saying, "Thank you, Grandpa Vine, you're the best!"
"All thanks to your sweet mouth," the old vine laughed cheerily.
At this ti, an elderly man stepped out of the ancient house, and upon exiting, he said: "Vine Brother, you spoil this girl too much. An item that takes a hundred thousand years to bear, and you've already given her seven, right? These are natural holy artifacts, once refined, they can beco top-grade Great Saint artifacts. If the other children knew, they would surely be secretly jealous of the girl."
This sounded more doting than reproachful, free of any bla.
Jiang Caiyue happily took out seven little gourds from her body, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and purple; seven colors in total. Suspended in the air, they looked incredibly exquisite.
Only the old vine and the aged man knew that these seven little gourds were the true treasures borne by the old vine! Every hundred thousand years, the old vine did not bear one gourd, but two, a large one and a small one!
The larger one was used as the prize for the young generation of the Jiang Family. But the true treasure was the smaller one! As a result, the old vine had given all seven hundred thousand years of its harvest to Jiang Caiyue, manifesting its fondness and endownt.
The large gourd is a natural holy artifact that can be refined but cannot grow. The little gourds, however, all have the potential to grow into Great Saint artifacts!
If this news were to get out, it would definitely cause a sensation within the Jiang Family. Even the patriarch would cast envious eyes, with covetous intentions, far more complex than the simple jealousy described by the aged man.
For an ancient family like the Jiang Family, holy artifacts of course were not a rarity. However, Great Saint artifacts were different. Each Great Saint artifact was regarded as a powerful tool, capable of unleashing its full force only in the hands of top cultivators. How could they all remain in the hands of a young girl like Jiang Caiyue?
But both the old vine and the elderly man chose to feign ignorance and said nothing about it.
Jiang Caiyue, sly and shrewd, was even less likely to speak of it. She decided to refine all seven treasure gourds into Great Saint artifacts. They would be her personal dharma instrunts, accompanying her for life!
"Girl, the last ti you sent a ssage, you ntioned that you had found an unmatched Heavenly Genius. How is that going? Have you won him over?" The aged man sat in a vine chair extended from the old vine, asking casually.
"Ah, don't ntion it. I ca back to discuss this matter with the ancestors." Jiang Caiyue pouted unhappily and said, "He rejected , but, it was not a complete rejection. He said he would give a year of consideration. I always feel that he is not just brushing off; it seems like he really has so unspeakable difficulties. I'll tell you about this person, Grandpa Ancestor and Grandpa Vine, help analyze him."
After that, Jiang Caiyue recounted all the events that had happened after Chu Mo entered the Trial Field, including entering the Tian Gang Domain with Liu Yunfeng and cleaving a saint in the Haoyue Sect.
After listening, the old vine comnted, "This kid is extraordinary. To want to kill a saint at the supre level, the difficulties he must face are nontrivial. A saint's Dao is stable and well-established. Killing a saint with a single strike requires not only imnse combat power but also overwhelming the saint's cultivation."
The elderly man leaned back in his vine chair and spoke thoughtfully, "The knife he used must be impressive too. Heh... a knife? Could it be, that knife again?"
"Wasn't that knife gone long ago?" the old vine muttered softly, "Has the prophecy co true?"
The aged man suddenly smiled wryly, "It would be good if it has."
The old vine fell silent for a mont, then said: "That's true."
Jiang Caiyue didn't know what the old vine and the venerable elder were insinuating, and curiously asked, "Grandpa Vine, Grand Ancestor, what are you talking about?"
"It's nothing, but girl, that person, you should not contact him anymore. It's better to keep your distance from him," the venerable elder said with an indifferent face.
"Why?" Jiang Caiyue was surprised, knowing that from childhood, no one in the entire Jiang Family... doted on her more than the venerable elder before her. If it were not for this grand ancestor, with Jiang Caiyue's status, no matter how talented, she wouldn't have been able to co and go freely from the core ancestral grounds of the Jiang Family like she could now. Even the family head of the Jiang Family would need to send a notification to co here, and that would still depend on whether the venerable elder was in the mood to see him.
The venerable elder was unlike the typical supre beings, who are ethereal and cold-hearted. He was just a normal old man, at least, in front of Jiang Caiyue, he was no different from a normal old man.
He was very fond of this young girl, even spoiling her to a sowhat lawless extent. He supported any and every decision of Jiang Caiyue. Even if so ideas were naïvely ludicrous, he would support her with all his might, not allowing the higher-ups of the Jiang Family to chi in.
So, he has never told Jiang Caiyue to not get too close to soone and to keep her distance.
A word from the supre ancestral being would have the family head of the Jiang Family, despite a thousand doubts in his heart, definitely nodding in obedience. But Jiang Caiyue was different, she grew up here from a very young age!
She was closer to the venerable elder than anyone else. Respect was natural, but fear... truly not much.
"This matter, it's not easy to explain. Anyway, I wouldn't harm you." Saying that, the venerable elder even winked at Jiang Caiyue, just like when she was two or three years old and had stumbled into this place, seeing the grand ancestor for the first ti.
Jiang Caiyue wasn't the ignorant girl who didn't know the imnsity of heaven and earth; she was capable of rising and gathering a multitude of Heavenly Geniuses under her command in the Trial Field. Actually, her mind and sches were quite deep. It was only in front of old vine and the grand ancestor that she would show such a daughter-like deanor.
In front of others, she was always the supre queen!
"Alright, he said a year, and you told to keep my distance from him; about that knife of his… I think I understand a little. However, Grand Ancestor, he is truly a good person! I've interacted with him," Jiang Caiyue said candidly.
"Hmm, the bloodline of royalty, after all, won't be too shabby," the venerable elder said.
"He is…" Jiang Caiyue's eyes widened in an instant, then a hint of terror appeared in her eyes as she looked at the venerable elder: "Grand Ancestor…"
"Hmm, so, you understand," the venerable elder said. Then, his figure suddenly vanished from there as if he had never appeared at all.
Jiang Caiyue stood there in shock, her eyes, however, shimring with an exceptionally brilliant light.
Knife, royal bloodline, prophecy!
She understood!
She finally knew who that person was!
"Grandpa Vine, I have sothing to attend to, I'll be leaving first, I'll co to see you again later!" Saying that, Jiang Caiyue bowed to the old vine, then her figure flashed, disappearing into the air in an instant.
"This girl, still so impetuous," old vine sighed lightly.
After that, the figure of the venerable elder once again appeared at the entrance of the ancient house.
"Jiang Brother, do you think the girl… will get involved with this matter?" old vine asked softly.
This place was, after all, the absolute core of the Jiang Family. Moreover, with two supre beings guarding, truly nothing would leak out.
"Tianji — destiny is always hazy when it involves that prophecy. I was observing the girl's qi movent, and it was very clear and distinct. But just now, I took a glance and discovered Chaos. Sigh, so I didn't stop Vine Brother from giving her those seven gourds. In any case, I hope the girl will be safe," the venerable elder sighed softly.
Old vine said: "The fate of the girl has been destined since her birth. A fate that shines across the heavens is bound to be extraordinary. So I gave her those seven gourds. But I didn't expect she would be related to that prophecy."
"It's good that it's not the Red Bird Tribulation; otherwise, that would be a big trouble," the venerable elder said and chuckled lightly: "This Luotian Immortal Domain has been too quiet for too many years. It should get so fresh blood."
"Indeed, that monkey is back, isn't it?" old vine muttered.
The venerable elder was montarily startled, then burst into hearty laughter: "You still rember that incident?"
"That impudent monkey, it stole one of my gourds and ran off, shaless monkey," old vine's emotions fluctuated a bit, but in the end, he also laughed: "Thinking about it coming back, sohow, I'm not resentful anymore. In fact, I'm sowhat happy."
" too," the venerable elder said with a serious face.
