Li Qiang had heard "A Thousand Songs" before and could hum a few lines, but singing the Cantonese version was beyond him. As Lu Lin began to sing, Li Qiang felt a bit awkward. Fortunately, Lu Lin noticed and gave him a reassuring smile, which made him relax and smile back.

While Chang Hao had egged them on to sing together, Lu Lin hadn't explicitly agreed or refused. Perhaps she never intended to sing a proper duet with Li Qiang, but the outco was still acceptable. After Lu Lin finished singing, everyone applauded. Chang Hao waved it off, saying it didn't count since Li Qiang hadn't sung at all.

"Li Qiang didn’t sing at all. You guys need to do another one," Chang Hao insisted.

"Exactly! I didn’t expect your Cantonese to be so good!" Zheng Yanyan added.

They joked around for a while. Chang Hao, for reasons unknown, insisted that Li Qiang sing a song too. Li Qiang, feeling helpless, picked "Big Flower Sedan Chair." This lively, festive song might seem tacky to Zheng Yanyan, but Chang Hao didn’t mind. He even kept the beat while Li Qiang sang enthusiastically, directing his performance towards Lu Lin.

Zheng Yanyan teasingly made fun of Lu Lin, but Lu Lin took it in stride, seriously listening to Li Qiang's performance and occasionally smiling at him. This boosted Li Qiang’s confidence, and he sang and danced more boldly.

The noise was too much for Su Qing, who wanted to talk to Zhou Yuwen. She suggested they step outside for a while, and Zhou Yuwen agreed. They left the room together, a sight that did not go unnoticed by Shen Yu, who felt uneasy seeing the boy she liked leave with another girl.

Despite this, the group continued to enjoy themselves, especially Li Qiang, who beca more uninhibited. He danced with a waterlon rind on his head, making everyone laugh, especially Lu Lin.

Zhou Yuwen and Su Qing talked outside until 10:50 PM. They discussed their dreams and future plans. Su Qing shared her aspiration to beco a top designer, sothing that made her feel more secure when talking to Zhou Yuwen.

"Do you think I’ll succeed?" Su Qing asked, her eyes sparkling under the moonlight.

"If you put your mind to it, you will," Zhou Yuwen replied.

Su Qing smiled, "And you’ll be successful too. You should beco an author, write novels. Not just web novels, but real books. With your talent, you’ll be a leader in literature."

Zhou Yuwen laughed, "I don’t want to write books. I want to be a businessman, to start a company."

Su Qing was surprised. The Zhou Yuwen she knew had never expressed such ambitions. His differences from the Zhou Yuwen of her past life made her uncertain about his true identity.

But these uncertainties didn't matter. What mattered was that Zhou Yuwen was there with her. He didn’t want a relationship, and she had her own goals to focus on. This arrangent seed better than their relationship in the past life.

Under the bright mid-autumn moon, they shared their hopes and dreams. Su Qing felt a newfound clarity, looking at Zhou Yuwen’s defined features.

Though they had agreed to remain just friends, Su Qing couldn’t help herself. Taking advantage of a mont when Zhou Yuwen was distracted, she stood on tiptoe and quickly kissed his cheek.

“?” Zhou Yuwen was taken aback, staring at Su Qing.

Her face turned red, a mix of shyness and nerves. "Zhou Yuwen! We both need to work hard!"

With that, she ran back to the room, leaving Zhou Yuwen to stand there, touching the spot where she kissed him, feeling a slight itch.

Zhou Yuwen couldn’t help but smile. The beginning of a story is always beautiful, but the endings are often disappointing.

When Zhou Yuwen returned to the room, Su Qing’s blush and shy deanor did not go unnoticed by Shen Yu, who suspected sothing had happened between them.

By 11 PM, Chang Hao and the others were satisfied. Seeing Zhou Yuwen return, Chang Hao asked, "Zhou, want to sing a couple more?"

"No, it’s already 11. Let’s call it a night and et again soti," Zhou Yuwen replied, checking his watch.

"Sounds good!" Chang Hao agreed.

Zhou Yuwen paid the bill at the front desk, pulling out a thick wad of cash. In 2013, mobile paynts weren't widespread, and Zhou Yuwen had been handling campus card business, so he had plenty of cash on hand.

Opening his wallet, he revealed stacks of red bills, totaling about twenty or thirty thousand yuan, which stunned the others. Zhou Yuwen paid the bill and said, "Let’s go."

They escorted the girls back to their dormitory first. The walk back was quiet, everyone lost in their own thoughts. Shen Yu was sure she liked Zhou Yuwen but hesitated to confess, fearing it would betray Su Qing.

The boys and girls were still amazed by Zhou Yuwen’s casual display of cash. Chang Hao couldn’t help but ask, "Zhou, where did you get all that money?"

Zhou Yuwen laughed it off, "It’s for the campus card business. I need to turn it in tomorrow."

At the girls' dormitory entrance, it was ti to part ways.

Li Qiang, who had been quiet, finally gathered his courage. "Lu Lin!"

Everyone looked at him curiously, including Lu Lin.

Nervous and sweating, Li Qiang stamred, "Can I add you on WeChat?"

The group was surprised but then amused.

"Sure," Lu Lin replied nonchalantly, unable to refuse in front of everyone.

Li Qiang sighed with relief, smiling widely.
