For a mont, Qu Jing thought Zhou Yuwen wasn’t so frightening after all. His soothing tone and gentle pats on her back made her feel oddly comforted, even flattered. She even entertained the thought that maybe Zhou Yuwen liked her.

But then he asked coldly, “You called Yan Yan a bit**. What does that make ?”

Qu Jing froze, stamring, “I… I…”

Zhou Yuwen tilted her chin up, his eyes locked on hers. “Hmm?”

Qu Jing’s heart raced. She avoided his gaze, unsure of how to answer. As Zhou Yuwen’s gaze bore into her, tears welled up in her eyes.

“It’s… it’s not my fault! Tao Tian told

to say it! I was just trying to help her!” Qu Jing cried out, trying to garner sympathy.

Zhou Yuwen didn’t react, his expression unreadable. He pulled her up from the floor, but Qu Jing refused to stand, choosing instead to remain kneeling. Seeing no other option, Zhou Yuwen sat on the coffee table in front of her, speaking slowly.

“You knew Yan Yan is my girlfriend, didn’t you?”

“I…”

“You called her a bit**,” Zhou Yuwen continued. “So, if she’s a bit**, what does that make ?”

Qu Jing stuttered, “I… I didn’t an…”

Zhou Yuwen leaned forward slightly, his calm deanor unyielding. “Then tell , who is the real bit** here?”

Qu Jing’s mind spiraled into chaos. Faced with Zhou Yuwen’s unrelenting stare, her defenses crumbled. Quietly, almost inaudibly, she murmured, “It’s … I’m the bit**.”

Qu Jing left the office an hour later, her face pale but expression composed. No one knew what had transpired inside, only that Zhou Yuwen hadn’t done anything illegal or inappropriate. His goal wasn’t to humiliate her, but to make her understand the consequences of her actions.

When she exited, Xiao Yang, who had been anxiously waiting outside, rushed up to her.

“Qu Jing! Are you okay? Did they do anything to you?”

Qu Jing shot him a cold, disdainful glance and snapped, “Scram.”

Stunned, Xiao Yang watched her leave, too shocked to follow.

anwhile, Tao Tian…

Tao Tian was in her dorm, crying her heart out to Min Min, the long-booted senior who had been trying to comfort her. Qu Jing entered, startled to see Tao Tian’s tear-streaked face.

“Where were you?” Min Min asked suspiciously.

“I… I was out having dinner with friends,” Qu Jing replied, her voice trembling slightly.

“Dinner? How could you eat at a ti like this? Tao Tian was dumped by that jerk Zhou Yuwen!” Min Min exclaid angrily.

Qu Jing’s heart skipped a beat. Of course, she knew everything. After all, she had witnessed Zhou Yuwen’s cold indifference toward Tao Tian. But she couldn’t let them know she’d been humiliated too, so she feigned ignorance. “What happened?”

Min Min angrily recounted the story, emphasizing Zhou Yuwen’s cruelty in dismissing Tao Tian’s contributions.

“He actually said the company is his alone and has nothing to do with Tao Tian! Can you believe that?”

“Without Tao Tian, he wouldn’t have a company at all!” Min Min ranted.

Qu Jing nodded absentmindedly, her thoughts elsewhere.

Tao Tian, her voice hoarse from crying, interrupted. “I won’t let this end like this. Does he think he can just use

and toss

aside like trash?”

Min Min imdiately supported her. “That’s right, Tao Tian! Tell us what to do, and we’ll back you up!”

Tao Tian wiped her tears, her resolve hardening. She couldn’t let Zhou Yuwen off so easily. He thought he could walk all over her, but she would prove him wrong.

That evening, Tao Tian began her campaign for revenge.

Tao Tian knew she needed to undermine Zhou Yuwen’s power base. His reliance on her for managing the modeling company and organizing part-ti gigs had been crucial. Without her, she was confident he’d struggle to maintain operations.

She started by calling Zhao Jun, a key figure in arranging their events.

“Hello, Brother Zhao, I’m Tao Tian. I wanted to let you know I won’t be working with Zhou Yuwen anymore. From now on, I’ll be handling my own projects.”

Zhao Jun was taken aback. “You’re going solo?”

“Yes, there’s been so… issues. But don’t worry, I can guarantee the sa quality of work and personnel.”

“Oh, sure, sure…” Zhao Jun replied, though he wasn’t entirely convinced.

Tao Tian added, “By the way, can you keep this between us? I don’t want Zhou Yuwen to know yet.”

“No problem,” Zhao Jun assured her. But the mont he hung up, he called Zhou Yuwen.

“Boss, you’ll never believe what Tao Tian just told …”

Unaware of Zhao Jun’s betrayal, Tao Tian began reaching out to her network of part-ti workers. She was determined to sabotage Zhou Yuwen’s future projects, leaving him scrambling to fulfill contracts without the necessary manpower.

Her vision of revenge was clear: Zhou Yuwen, desperate and humiliated, would co crawling back to her. When that day ca, she would sit with arms crossed, looking down at him coldly.

“Didn’t you say you didn’t need ?” she would sneer. “Didn’t you say the company is yours? What now? Beg , or watch it all fall apart.”

The thought of Zhou Yuwen groveling at her feet brought a triumphant smile to Tao Tian’s face.
