After Su Qing spoke, Zhou Yuwen was montarily stunned, glancing suspiciously at Su Qing in the passenger seat.

Su Qing didn’t bother maintaining any pretense, nodding as she said, “Stop guessing; it’s exactly what you think. They already t this afternoon. Yes, it was more dramatic than you imagine. With Yanyan’s fiery temper, of course, she started sothing.”

“She slapped Tao Tian right in front of everyone.”

This was entirely in character for Zheng Yanyan, but Zhou Yuwen wasn’t focused on that. He was already preparing to make a call.

Truth be told, Zhou Yuwen was a bit angry. Su Qing had known all along.

“Why are you only telling

now? They already t?”

“Mm-hmm!”

Zhou Yuwen was about to call, but Su Qing interjected in a soft tone, “I advise against making that call.”

Su Qing, sitting like a graceful rmaid, had her long legs wrapped in black trousers tucked neatly onto the seat. Her bare feet rested against the seat’s edge as she propped her head on one hand, glancing at Zhou Yuwen.

“Even if you go, you can’t solve anything; it’ll just be awkward for you,” she said.

Zhou Yuwen thought about it and realized she was right.

Seeing his agreent, Su Qing smiled faintly. She always wanted Zhou Yuwen to see that she was indispensable.

Only won truly understand won, and she, at nearly thirty, understood this better than anyone.

Tilting her head, she asked, “Don’t you want to know what happened this afternoon?”

Zhou Yuwen replied, “If you want to tell , then hurry up.”

“Beg ,” Su Qing teased, kneeling on the passenger seat and looking at Zhou Yuwen mischievously.

Rolling his eyes, Zhou Yuwen retorted, “Fine, I’ll beg you, huh?”

He lunged playfully, pretending to tug at her clothes and tickle her.

Su Qing burst into laughter, crying out, “Okay, okay, I give in! I was wrong! Zhou Yuwen, stop!”

“Are you going to tell

or not?” Zhou Yuwen demanded.

“Fine, I’ll talk! Stop tickling!”

“You’re such a handful,” he muttered.

Su Qing pouted. “What other wife helps her husband pursue another girl?”

“Ex-wife, thank you.”

Zhou Yuwen reached out and grabbed Su Qing’s thigh.

“Hmph!” Su Qing didn’t seem to mind his touch.

She continued, “Zheng Yanyan is just a kid—she’s nothing to worry about. Tao Tian, though, is a different story.”

“She’s not simple. You need to be careful. Didn’t we hear enough about her in our previous life?”

Zhou Yuwen scoffed. “No matter how complicated she is, she’s still just a girl.”

“‘Just a girl,’ huh? Did you know, after Yanyan slapped her, she slapped her right back?”

“She hit Yanyan?” Zhou Yuwen was taken aback. He might have shared ambiguous feelings with Tao Tian, but Zheng Yanyan was his girlfriend, and that was clear.

“What? You feel sorry for her?” Su Qing asked jealously.

Zhou Yuwen ignored the teasing and pressed, “What exactly happened?”

“Hmph,” Su Qing snorted, but she relented, recounting the entire incident.

Essentially, Zheng Yanyan had gone to provoke Tao Tian but ended up getting verbally dismantled.

“Afterward, I wanted to call you, but Yanyan wouldn’t let ,” Su Qing added sarcastically.

“And now you’re telling ?”

“She didn’t forbid

from telling you later,” Su Qing said nonchalantly.

Zhou Yuwen sighed. This woman really was sothing else.

Pointing a finger at her, he said, “You’re doing this on purpose, aren’t you?”

“So what? She’s trying to steal my husband. I can’t discipline her?”

“Ex-husband, thank you.”

Zhou Yuwen rolled his eyes and asked about the evening confrontation.

“She insisted on confronting Tao Tian. It’s pointless, though. She just doesn’t want you to know and thinks she can handle it herself.

“But she’s naive. She doesn’t realize the problem is with you. After Tao Tian scolded her, she’s afraid you might actually break up with her. I doubt tonight will yield any real resolution.”

Su Qing stretched lazily and said, “Originally, I wanted to tag along for the drama, but then I saw your social dia post.”

“No show could beat having dinner with my husband. Am I a good girl or what?” she asked with a cheeky grin.

Zhou Yuwen snorted. “Good, my foot. This is you stabbing your friend in the back.”

“She’s trying to steal my husband. You expect

to call her a friend? It’s already generous of

not to slap her twice myself.”

“Forget it. Where are they? I’ll go find them.”

“I wouldn’t if I were you,” Su Qing said, puzzled by his insistence. He knew his presence wouldn’t help.

But appearances mattered, and with Su Qing here, he felt he had to take a stand.

“They’re avoiding you for a reason. If you go, what can you do? Both Yanyan and Tao Tian are dear to you. Can you choose between them?”

She spread her hand, palm up, and then flipped it over. Her delicate, snow-white fingers were impeccably manicured.

Zhou Yuwen couldn’t deny she had a point. He reached for her hand, but Su Qing pulled away playfully, laughing.

“See? If it weren’t for , you’d know nothing,” she teased.

Zhou Yuwen nodded. “Fair enough.”

“So, what’s your plan?” he asked.

“Plan? Do nothing. Let them fight over you. Isn’t that what you like?”

He was speechless. “I didn’t realize it before, but you’re truly wicked.”

“All thanks to you,” Su Qing retorted, smirking.

Zhou Yuwen stretched out his hand to play with Su Qing’s feet while continuing to chat on the phone with Zheng Yanyan. “Um, do you have any urgent business? Actually, I’m almost done here.”

“No, I just missed you,” Zheng Yanyan replied softly.

“Oh, I’ll be ho soon,” Zhou Yuwen said, glancing briefly at Su Qing.

“Why don’t you drive directly to my house? I just drove the car back. By the way, did you treat your roommates to dinner?” Zheng Yanyan asked.

While talking, Zhou Yuwen absentmindedly held Su Qing’s feet in his hands, rubbing them gently as he focused on the call.

But Su Qing, refusing to behave, placed her feet on Zhou Yuwen’s stomach and began slowly sliding them downward.

“Yes, I treated them,” Zheng Yanyan replied, unaware of what was happening on the other end.

Zhou Yuwen quickly stopped Su Qing’s next move, shot her a sharp glare, and replied to Zheng Yanyan, “Okay, I’ll be back right away.”
