“No way, Hao, you wouldn’t budge no matter how hard we tried earlier. But as soon as you hear Old Zhou’s bringing Zheng Yanyan, you imdiately agree?!” Li Qiang exclaid, incredulous.

“What nonsense are you talking about? That’s not the reason.” Chang Hao quickly denied.

Li Qiang smirked and said nothing more.

Chang Hao ignored him and turned to Gu Yaoyao. “Any good movies next Friday?”

Gu Yaoyao grabbed her phone to check. “There are a few worth watching this year—Pacific Rim, Iron Man 3, The Wind Rises, Arican Dreams in China, and The Great Gatsby.”

Chang Hao asked which one was the best pick. Ma Tian and Li Jing preferred The Wind Rises, but Li Qiang, upon learning it was an animated film, imdiately lost interest.

Gu Yaoyao cleared her throat. “We also need to think about costs.”

The campus cinema offered discounted tickets for students—most movies cost ??9.9, but so were ??12.9. Earlier this sester, everyone contributed ??50 for class activities. After spending ??20 on choir uniforms, only ??30 remained.

Watching a movie isn’t just about the film itself; snacks are a must. Factoring in roughly ??15 per person, it made sense to choose the cheaper ??9.9 movies.

This ruled out Iron Man and Pacific Rim, leaving The Wind Rises and The Great Gatsby.

Li Qiang mistakenly thought The Great Gatsby was a docuntary about Bill Gates’ life and voted for it. Ma Tian and Li Jing, unfamiliar with it, shrugged and went along.

Liu Yue asked, “Can I bring my boyfriend?”

“Sure, why not? Old Zhou is bringing his girlfriend. You can bring him too. I’m curious to see this boyfriend you always praise,” Li Qiang teased.

Liu Yue shot him a glare. “He’s way better looking than you!”

“Heh!”

Chang Hao added, “You can bring him, but he has to pay an extra ??10.”

Liu Yue suggested, “For a cinema like this, why not negotiate with the owner and book the whole place?”

Gu Yaoyao smiled. “Booking’s unnecessary, but we could probably negotiate a ??2 discount. Still, with other expenses, charging an extra ??10 works out better.”

Unhappy with the arrangent, Liu Yue glanced over at Zhou Yuwen and Zheng Yanyan, who were waiting for their food. “So, does Zhou Yuwen have to pay ??10 too?”

Chang Hao replied, “I’m covering Old Zhou’s fee. It’s not about you specifically—everyone who brings soone has to pay.”

“D, Hao, you’re really sothing! You’re even paying for Old Zhou’s girlfriend to watch a movie? Respect!” Li Qiang laughed.

Chang Hao waved him off. “I’m just doing it as a favor for Old Zhou.”

“Oh, really?” Li Qiang smirked knowingly. “So, when you’re in the cinema, and you see Old Zhou and Zheng Yanyan kissing, are you going to feel proud that you contributed to their date?”

“Get lost!” Chang Hao was montarily stunned before reaching out to choke Li Qiang. “You’re dead at!”

Li Qiang laughed, dodging and apologizing, “Just joking! Just joking!”

anwhile, Zhou Yuwen brought over their stir-fry, but instead of finding another table, Zheng Yanyan confidently sat beside Gu Yaoyao, joining the group.

Cafeteria tables were arranged in three rows of four seats, accommodating twelve people. Chang Hao, Li Qiang, and Lu Yuhang were seated on the far left. Gu Yaoyao and her three roommates occupied the middle, while Zheng Yanyan claid a spot on the far right.

“Hey, decided yet? What movie are we watching? I just saw that Iron Man is playing next week,” Zheng Yanyan asked casually.

“You want to see Iron Man, Sister Yan? Hao, did you hear that?” Li Qiang teased, continuing to poke fun.

Chang Hao told him to buzz off, then inford Zheng Yanyan, “We’ve decided on The Great Gatsby.”

“What’s that about?” Zheng Yanyan wasn’t into artsy films.

Zhou Yuwen, sitting beside her, explained, “It’s a Leonardo DiCaprio movie. It should be pretty good.”

“Leo’s so washed up. What’s there to see?” Zheng Yanyan muttered, unimpressed.

At that mont, Lu Lin arrived with her food. She chose a seat directly across from Zhou Yuwen. Unhappy with the arrangent, Zheng Yanyan asked her to move.

“I’m good here, thanks. It’s too cramped otherwise,” Lu Lin replied.

If Lu Lin had moved, she would’ve ended up sitting next to Liu Yue. It was strange—while Lu Lin initially felt mild jealousy seeing Zhou Yuwen and Zheng Yanyan together, over ti, a stronger possessiveness erged. Even now, watching them share a simple al, she couldn’t suppress her discomfort.

As they ate, Zheng Yanyan playfully served Zhou Yuwen food, constantly feeding him. “Honey, this is delicious!”

“This one’s great too!”

“I can serve myself.”

“Hehe, I’ll just eat yours!”

She couldn’t stop teasing, even swapping their drinks.

Lu Lin finally snapped. “Can you just eat without making a scene?”

“What? My boyfriend’s back; I’m happy!” Zheng Yanyan replied gleefully. “Or, you could bring your boyfriend next ti and join the fun! Haha!”

Her words made everyone pause. Gu Yaoyao, who had only exchanged a few words with Lu Lin in the past, was intrigued. “Wait, you have a boyfriend?”

Caught off guard, Lu Lin hesitated before admitting, “Yeah.”

Excited, Zheng Yanyan pushed further. “You’ve got to bring him so we can all et him!”

Under the table, Lu Lin crossed her legs, her foot brushing against Zhou Yuwen’s. Calmly, she replied, “You’ll et him soon enough.”

“I’m holding you to that! Hey, is your boyfriend better than mine?” Zheng Yanyan teased again, her eyes sparkling.

Lu Lin smiled faintly. “You’ll see.”

anwhile, under the table, Lu Lin began toying with Zhou Yuwen, using her foot to tug at his pants. Zhou Yuwen, noticing her boldness, decided to play along. When her foot ventured closer, he trapped it between his legs.

Lu Lin glanced at him, surprised, while Zhou Yuwen continued eating nonchalantly.

Yanyan sat in Zhou Yuwen's lap, her legs wrapped tightly around his waist. Zhou Yuwen slid his hand down from her hips, firmly supporting her. The two of them kissed deeply in the car, their passion building, lost in the mont as their lips pressed together, unwilling to part.
