Kael turned around, zipped up, and walked back like nothing had happened.

Michael gave him a weird look but didn't say anything. Now wasn't the ti.

The air outside got heavier—like soone had just dropped a mountain on the city. Arthur furrowed his brows and looked up.

"Okay… that's not normal," he muttered.

"No shit," Michael replied, eyes narrowing. "That's not the demon's power. It's sothing else."

"Another Seraphim?" Arthur asked.

Michael shook his head. "Nah. We'd be dead already."

"Good point."

The demon mayor also noticed. He glanced toward the cell bars, then up at the ceiling like he was trying to spot the source. His face scrunched up for a second, but he didn't panic.

Which was worrying in itself.

Because if the guy who slamd Arthur into the ground like a ragdoll wasn't panicking, but still looked annoyed… then yeah, they had a bigger problem.

The demon sighed and stood up. "Stay here. If any of you try to escape, I'll consider it a declaration of war."

Then he left.

Michael imdiately turned to the others.

"Okay, so I'm thinking we ignore that threat and escape."

"Obviously," Arthur replied. "Let's just hope the big thing up there is busy doing sothing else. Like eating buildings or picking flowers."

Kael sat down on the floor, legs crossed. "No need to rush. That pressure… it's moving slow. Probably hasn't locked onto us yet."

Michael glanced between the two of them.

"We don't wait," he said. "Because if it does lock onto us, we're dead."

"So? Got a plan?" Arthur asked.

Michael grinned. "Of course not. I just wanted to sound confident."

Arthur facepald.

Kael leaned his head back against the wall. "If I override the security systems from here, I might be able to open the door."

Michael looked at him.

"How long?"

"Thirty seconds. Maybe."

"Great. You have ten."

Kael sighed. "Fine."

He tapped his temple, and a soft whir ca from his chest. A few lights blinked on his collar, and the door gave off a faint hum.

Arthur leaned toward Michael. "You think we'll make it?"

"Nope," Michael replied. "But dying here sounds boring."

"…Fair."

A loud clank echoed as the door clicked open.

Kael stood up. "Done."

Michael cracked his neck. "Alright. No wings. No explosions. We keep low, stay fast, and if you see anything glowing, don't touch it."

Arthur raised a hand. "What if it's a weapon?"

"…Then especially don't touch it."

They slipped out.

And the second they did, the city shook. A deep, guttural roar rang out from sowhere in the sky, followed by the sound of sothing massive tearing through clouds.

Michael paused mid-step.

"Yeah... I might've been wrong about sothing," he muttered. "While I can't feel the Seraphim, those fuckers up there have enough power to rival even high-ranking angels."

"So we're even more fucked than you thought, huh?" Arthur chuckled. "Yeah, not surprising if I'm being honest. I'm the brains here, you're the brawn."

"Wait a second, you two..." Kael spoke up. "I believe there might actually be a Seraphim present."

"Bullshit," Michael stated. "If there really was a Seraphim present, then we'd all be dead."

"On the contrary, no you wouldn't," Kael added. "The Seraphim I'm sensing doesn't seem to be corrupted."

"You an unlike the others, it's fine...? How is that possible?" Michael asked with wide eyes. "All of them went rogue or sothing right after God died, isn't that right?"

"That is indeed correct." Kael nodded. "However, keep in mind, this strange world has its own demons and angels. And that Seraphim over there is like their own interpretation of a Seraphim. It doesn't seem perfect, but it's definitely strong, much stronger than the both of you combined."

"Well shit." Michael sighed, turning to Arthur. "Got any plans, fish?"

"Your mother," Arthur replied with a scoff.

"She's dead," Michael added, flashing the middle finger. "Since you don't have any ideas, fish, then I'll take the lead. The first thing on the agenda is to run the fuck away. Any objections?"

"None from ," Arthur said. "Sorry about your loss, by the way... do you have a sister?"

Michael didn't even humor Arthur and proceeded to turn toward Kael.

"And you?"

"?" Kael tilted his head. "Do I get a say in this?"

"Why not? You're traveling with us, so naturally, you also get a say in what we do," Michael replied with a smile. "But you should probably make up your mind soon, otherwise, we might die in the next couple of minutes."

"Very well then, I wish to leave," Kael stated, and the mont he did, Michael nodded and proceeded to grab him by the collar.

Then, he swiftly unfurled his wings and flew close to the ground.

Arthur trailed close behind, and soon, they left the city.

However, massive shockwaves made it a bit difficult to maintain flight, so they had no choice but to begin running on foot.

But that seed to only be the beginning of their worries, since in the distance, Michael spotted a giant golden-winged figure descend from the crack in the sky.

It didn't seem like the Seraphim from his mories, since most of the Seraphim that served God were n.

On the other hand, there was a woman there with golden hair and golden eyes, a majestic suit of golden armor, and obviously, a glowing golden sword.

It was a headache by how much she liked gold, but aside from that, Michael was going to dip.

No way was he tussling with a Seraphim powerhouse while he was still so weak.

Nonetheless, Michael continued skedaddling out of here.

He didn't encounter any problems along the way, and the city was getting further and further away with each passing mont.

Therefore, in just a few minutes, he'd be free.

Or so he thought. However, a sudden energy wave made him halt in place.

The mont he halted, a golden crescent flew past him, cutting Arthur in two.

"AAAH! Fuck!" Arthur scread in agony. However, his passively healing capabilities weren't terrible, and since Michael was right here, he swiftly healed Arthur.

However, the fact that soone literally just shot a laser beam right at their backs remained.

And it didn't take long for Michael to find the culprit, as it was the sa golden-haired woman he had taken notice of earlier.

She was staring at him from such a distance, yet he could feel her fiery gaze burning into him.

Despite the fact that she wasn't moving, it felt like she was getting closer.

Just as he was lost in a stupor, Michael suddenly crouched, dodging a horizontal sword slash that had co from behind.

And as he turned toward the culprit, he saw the golden-haired and -eyed woman staring at him, surprised.

"You dodged that? Hmm... your comprehension of ti must be pretty great if you were able to do that," the woman mused. "But how many attacks can you dodge? I doubt many because of how weak you are."

"You know, as much as I'd like you to continue speaking since your breasts are bouncing with each word, I really gotta go. So if you don't mind, can my friends and I take our leave, pretty please?" Michael asked kindly.

However, it seed like his kindness was a bit short-sighted, since the woman's glare grew.

"You have a foul tongue."

"Thanks." Michael nodded in appreciation. "I get that a lot nowadays... I don't know why."

"I think it's because—"

"Now now," Michael shut Arthur up, then glanced back at the woman. "What do you think? Can we co to a truce? I really don't want to fight soone of your caliber. I an, a Seraphim? Seriously?"

"I'm not a full-fledged Seraphim, as I have yet to transcend," the woman said. "However, I have more than enough power to have leeway in this discussion. Therefore, state your terms."

Hm? That worked? Michael thought with a puzzled look.

He was just trying to bullshit his way through and focus all the Origin affinity in his body.

But it seed like that wasn't necessary since she was practically begging to be outsmarted.

After all, he had one sowhat smart fish, and the other sludge boy who seed even smarter.

Therefore, this would be a walk in the park.

However, a certain sothing soon caught his eye. "Hm? Why aren't you moving?"

"I froze them," the woman said. "I realized they are the Klaxians from myth. I don't want to engage in ntal warfare against a species such as that."

"While I can't bla you... damn." Michael didn't even have a coback.

Nonetheless, if all he could do was yap his way through this, then he might as well go out with a bang.

Therefore, Michael stared her up and down, and then slightly unbuttoned his shirt, revealing his sowhat toned pecs.

Then, he glanced straight into her golden eyes and flashed a warm smile.

"In exchange for us giving up, I want you to marry ."
