Chapter 456: Make it clear to _1
“`
The two casually chatted for a while longer, before Tang Feng finally laughed and asked, “You didn’t call today just to tell that news, did you?”
“Of course not, I was actually wondering when you’re free, because I’d like to take you out for a al,” Jiang Zi revealed her true intention.
“Take out for a al? Why?”
“Because I got promoted to manager thanks to you, I haven’t had a chance to properly thank you yet.”
“Hey, what’s with the formality? I was going to look for you tomorrow for sothing anyway, so we might as well grab lunch together.”
...
“You were looking for ? What for?” Now it was Jiang Zi’s turn to be curious.
“Nothing major. Don’t you work at a securities company? I’m going to open an account with you, hopefully boost your performance a bit while I’m at it,” Tang Feng said casually.
“Open an account?” Jiang Zi exclaid in surprise, “You’re planning to play the stock market too?”
“Yeah, I’ve made a little money recently and thought about investing. Can’t just let it devalue in the bank, right?”
Tang Feng gave a random excuse; he couldn’t possibly tell her he had just acquired a stock scanning system that could predict market trends.
If he really told her, she’d probably think he was crazy.
“No problem, co find tomorrow and I’ll personally help you open the account,” Jiang Zi agreed readily.
The two then continued to chat for a bit more.
The topic was mainly the amusing things happening in her company.
Since her sudden promotion, there were rumors that she had hooked up with a big client of the company. Those who used to boss her around were now extrely deferential in her presence.
Tang Feng wasn’t too interested in these minor workplace matters, and listening to them made him sleepy.
In the end, he fell asleep without realizing.
This week had been really tiring.
As the boss, he had many more concerns than his employees.
Even with his high energy, a week’s worth of issues had left him exhausted.
The next day, when he woke up, it was already past nine in the morning, and his phone had run out of battery and shut down automatically.
First, he plugged in his phone to charge, then went to the bathroom to wash up, and finally changed into a new suit.
After he got everything in order, he then left the house.
Jiang Zi’s company, Huazhong Securities, was about a half-hour drive from where he lived.
The entire office building was around twenty stories high, and Huazhong Securities occupied the fifteenth and sixteenth floors.
He made his way to Huazhong Securities without any obstacles and, after reporting his na at the reception,
the female receptionist imdiately made a call.
Soon enough, a woman in her twenties ca hurrying out.
“Are you Mr. Tang Feng? Hello, I’m Mr. Jiang’s assistant, my na is Mi Yue, you can just call Mi,” the woman said with confidence, reaching out for a handshake with Tang Feng.
“Assistant Mi, hello. Is Mr. Jiang still busy?” Tang Feng asked, sowhat curious.
Normally, Jiang Zi would have co to greet him herself.
Sending an assistant instead probably ant she was still tied up.
“Mr. Jiang was intending to greet you personally, but Mr. Huang needed her for sothing, so she asked to welco you,”
Mi Yue explained briefly before playfully winking, “Why? You feel a bit slighted that a re assistant like was sent to welco you?”
Tang Feng quickly waved his hands. “Not at all, absolutely not. I am very honored to be welcod by an assistant as beautiful as you.”
Mi Yue couldn’t help but cover her mouth and laugh, “Mr. Tang, you are really funny. No wonder our Mr. Jiang always has a special smile when she ntions you.”
“A special smile? What kind of special?” Tang Feng was quite curious.
“Hmm… hard to put into words but that smile appears only when she talks about you. I’m quite sure of that.”
“Heh, probably a smile with no good intentions…”
The two of them chatted while walking inside.
anwhile, in Jiang Zi’s office.
“Jiang Zi, you have to give an explanation today. What exactly do you an?”
A short-haired woman in her thirties was pounding the desk furiously.
This woman’s na was Huang Mingxia, also a client manager at Huazhong Securities.
She used to be Jiang Zi’s imdiate superior, often barking orders at her.
However, Jiang Zi had recently been promoted to client manager as well and was now at the sa level.
“Mrs. Xia, I don’t understand what you’re saying?” Jiang Zi tried to keep a low profile.
The other party had more seniority, after all, so she needed to show so deference.
“Don’t play dumb with . Did you steal my client or not? You know the truth,” Huang Mingxia slamd the desk again, making a loud noise.
Jiang Zi then realized, “You an Mr. Liu? I think you’ve misunderstood…”
“Misunderstood my ass!” Huang Mingxia interrupted harshly. “Liu Qingshan has always been my client; we’ve been working together for three or four years. But he suddenly called last night saying he wants to switch his account to you. Are you claiming it’s not your doing?”
Jiang Zi hastily tried to explain, “Mrs. Xia, it’s really not as you think. Mr. Liu ca to on his own accord, asking for my help with his account. I’ve told him that he’s your client and I didn’t want to take over, but he insisted that if I didn’t manage his account, he would go to another company…”
“Save your excuses. Don’t think I don’t know your little sches,” Huang Mingxia folded her arms and smirked coldly. “If you wanted the client, you could have told openly. You used to work under , after all, and out of respect for our past association, I might have let you have him. But, this shaless thod you’ve used… how low can you go?”
Jiang Zi had always faced her difficulties with a smile.
But listening to such harsh words now, her expression grew cold.
“Mrs. Xia, precisely because I worked under you, I’ve always been polite. But don’t take my patience for fear; how am I shaless? What low thods have I used? You better make things clear today.”
