That’s right. The person who had arrived was none other than Bai Xiangqian, dressed in plain clothes. His face was livid, and his eyes were so fierce he looked as if he wanted to devour soone.

"Damn it, who the hell are you? If you’re thinking about ddling, you’d better see if you’re qualified!" Xue Dalong shouted arrogantly.

The portly man’s face turned pale, and cold sweat dripped from his brow. "Dalong, shut up!"

"Old Wang, what the hell are you afraid of?" Xue Dalong cursed, but the portly man ignored him.

Trembling, he walked up to Bai Xiangqian and said with deference and fear, "Chief Bai, why... why are you here?"

Chief Bai?

Xue Changshan and Xue Dalong were both stunned. Could this be the top dog of Jinling City’s police force, Bai Xiangqian? The mont they realized this, Xue Dalong was so frightened that he nearly collapsed.

Bai Xiangqian looked at the portly man with an indifferent gaze. "What’s your na?"

"Wang... Wang Jiafeng!" the man stamred. Not only was his voice quivering, but his entire body was shaking.

After this, Bai Xiangqian didn’t spare him another glance. He walked straight up to Lin Xiao and said respectfully, "Mr. Lin, I apologize for my late arrival."

BOOM!

Everyone present was shocked. Bai Xiangqian was actually treating this filthy beggar with such respect.

Could it be that this beggar was the one who called Bai Xiangqian here? It had to be. Otherwise, Bai Xiangqian wouldn’t be acting so reverently toward him.

Xue Dalong and Xue Changshan exchanged a look, seeing nothing but pure, unsuppressible fear in each other’s eyes.

"Why did you co alone?" Lin Xiao asked.

Bai Xiangqian replied respectfully, "To answer you, Mr. Lin, the special police are on their way. Please rest assured, I will give you a satisfactory account of today’s incident!"

Lin Xiao nodded. "Good. After they’re taken away, investigate them thoroughly. They might be involved in other matters. Don’t let anything slip."

"Understood!"

BOOM!

Xue Dalong and Xue Changshan’s minds went blank, completely engulfed by an imnse sense of dread. Xue Dalong in particular, his face already ashen, crumpled to the ground. Although Xue Changshan was also terrified, he managed to keep a calr head than his son. His eyes darted about rapidly as he secretly sched.

Lin Xiao glanced at the worthless man and noticed he was trying to send a ssage to soone.

He sneered. What a reckless fool. Not even the King of Heaven could save him today.

"Oh, right," Lin Xiao added. "Have the fire departnt and the tax bureau co inspect this mall as well. Who knows what they might find."

Bai Xiangqian understood imdiately. Lin Xiao was intent on utterly destroying them. It looks like they truly angered Mr. Lin. Otherwise, he wouldn’t be taking such drastic asures.

"Understood. I’ll make the calls right away," Bai Xiangqian said grimly.

Xue Changshan’s heart sank. If the fire departnt and the tax bureau got involved, his mall would surely be forced to close. He shot Lin Xiao a venomous glare but didn’t dare utter a sound.

After what felt like an eternity, the sound of neat, rhythmic footsteps echoed from the entrance. Soon, a dozen special police officers appeared before them.

"Chief Bai, your orders?" a young officer asked.

"Take all these people back with you, especially this one nad Wang Jiafeng," Bai Xiangqian said, his face ashen. "He is a disgrace to our police force. Investigate him thoroughly."

As soon as these words were spoken, Wang Jiafeng’s body went limp, and he collapsed completely. He knew he was finished, utterly finished. He looked at Bai Xiangqian in despair, wanting to beg for rcy, but no words would co out.

Just as the special police were about to take him away, a placid voice cut through the tension.

"Chief Bai, do a favor. Can you hold off on the arrests for a mont?"

As he spoke, a slick, dapper young man walked in. Seeing him, Lin Xiao couldn’t help but laugh. The newcor was none other than Xue Wenbing, the very man he had t that morning.

When Xue Dalong saw Xue Wenbing, his despair vanished, and it was as if he’d been fully revived. Bai Xiangqian was formidable, certainly, but the Xue Family was no pushover. With Xue Wenbing’s intervention, even Chief Bai would have to show so deference. At this thought, Xue Dalong’s face twisted into a smug, sinister grin.

Wang Jiafeng obviously recognized Xue Wenbing too, and he grew visibly excited. That’s right, Chief Bai was powerful, but he would surely have to give the Xue Family a wide berth. Just when he thought he was dood, the tables had unexpectedly turned.

For Xue Changshan, seeing Xue Wenbing was like a drowning man grasping at a final straw. He scrambled over to him and cried out, "Cousin, save !"

"What exactly happened?" Xue Wenbing asked.

"This damn beggar hit and Xue Dalong, then he called Chief Bai here to arrest us!"

Xue Wenbing followed his cousin’s gesture and his eyes landed on Lin Xiao. He was stunned for a mont, but his expression quickly filled with towering rage.

"You damn beggar! It’s true that enemies often cross paths!" Xue Wenbing bellowed.

That morning at the Qiu family estate, after this beggar had forced him to kneel and apologize, Xue Wenbing had sworn he would kill him one day. He never imagined they would et again just a few hours later.

"Indeed, enemies do often cross paths," Lin Xiao said coldly. "What’s this? You just finished kneeling this morning. Do you want to kneel again this afternoon?"

BOOM!

The words hit Xue Wenbing like a physical blow; he felt like he was going to vomit blood. How dare this filthy beggar bring up such a humiliating incident in front of so many people. His glare toward Lin Xiao intensified with fury.

"You damn beggar, what gives you the right to be so arrogant? I’m telling you, you won’t be hopping around for much longer!" Xue Wenbing spat with hatred. After his humiliation that morning, he had imdiately called his cousin, Xue Jingdong, asking for revenge. Xue Jingdong had told him that he already had a plan and was contacting a top-tier expert. Before long, the beggar would be dead. That was the source of his current bravado.

Lin Xiao smiled disdainfully. "Oh? Are you counting on Xue Jingdong to avenge you? That piece of trash wants revenge? If he had the ability, he wouldn’t have waited until now."

"Damn it, beggar, don’t get ahead of yourself! I’m not afraid to tell you, my cousin has already contacted a top expert. Just you wait for your death!"

"Alright, I’ll be waiting. I’m very interested to see who ends up dead. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Let ask you, are you here to stand up for these pieces of trash?" Lin Xiao asked with a cold sneer.

"Damn it, don’t think I don’t know what you’re up to, you damn beggar! You just want to use this as another excuse to humiliate ! Let tell you, don’t even dream of it! This has nothing to do with , so you can’t touch !"

Lin Xiao looked at Xue Wenbing as if he were an idiot. He’d never seen soone use such a tough tone to say sothing so spineless.

"You really are pathetic. Since you don’t want a beating, get the hell out of my sight!" Lin Xiao barked.

"Damn it! I have legs, I can walk myself out!"

With that, Xue Wenbing turned and left. His pace was normal at first, but the mont he stepped out of the clothing store, he broke into a sprint, running as fast as a rabbit, as if terrified that Lin Xiao would deal with him if he were a second too slow.

It couldn’t be helped. Lin Xiao had truly terrified him that morning at the Qiu family villa.

The crowd was completely and utterly dumbfounded.
