Sheng Tang smiled and didn’t answer Gu Shiting’s question.
Gu Shiting didn’t press further, his gaze fixed on the fireworks in the sky.
The fireworks were so brilliant, more dazzling than any earthly scene when they blossod, but they vanished in an instant.
Could it be that all beautiful things are fleeting?
Now that he and Tangtang were so happy together, would they too fade into silence after the brilliance, like these fireworks?
At this thought, Gu Shiting shivered.
Sheng Tang thought he was feeling unwell and pulled him back inside from the balcony.
"Are you okay?" she asked with concern.
Gu Shiting said he was fine.
In the following days, Sheng Tang helped Gu Shiting overco his fear of the dark.
Gu Shiting’s progress was slow.
He wanted to improve, but his body didn’t obey. Like a person with cancer, who wouldn’t want to recover? In such cases, willpower alone can’t be decisive.
Willpower can’t defeat illness.
On the second day, Gu Shiting managed for fifteen minutes; on the third day, he held Sheng Tang tightly as they lay in bed, his gaze fixed on the small nightlight, lasting thirty minutes.
He was sweating profusely.
Wearing a sweater, his sweat soaked through it and even dampened Sheng Tang’s pajamas.
Afterwards, the doctor gave him electrolyte water to replenish his fluids.
On the fourth day, they were a bit far from the nightlight, and he lasted only twelve minutes again.
The week-long treatnt ended with ups and downs.
Sheng Tang moved into the Gu Family’s ho for ten days.
During these days, she stayed with Gu Shiting through the dark in the mornings, waited for him to rest and recover in the afternoon until he was nearly fine by then.
His Sanda coach ca over to teach Sheng Tang.
Sheng Tang had so background and imdiately realized the coach was highly skilled. After inquiring, she found out this coach was You Peng, a national champion from a few years ago.
Even the grand actress Sheng Tang felt that the Gu Family was extravagant.
She practiced with Coach You.
Whenever the coach taught, they had to wear long sleeves and gloves, otherwise, Gu Shiting would break down if their skin touched his.
Without skin contact, Gu Shiting was slightly better when they sparred.
The next day’s practice earned Sheng Tang high praise from the coach.
"You have a good foundation, you must have practiced for many years, right? You’ve mastered the techniques well," You Peng remarked, "However, your body can’t keep up with your reaction speed, which is a bit strange."
Sheng Tang smiled without speaking.
You Peng continued, "It’s like you’ve been watching movies and imitating the moves, but not actually practicing them much, otherwise, I can’t explain your current state."
Sheng Tang’s current body hadn’t undergone training, lacking muscle mory.
So her physical instincts couldn’t keep up.
She had fought twice, once at the school gate against the thugs sent by Jiahuai; the second ti helping Qin Lin deal with the thugs from Seventeenth Middle School.
These two fights made her realize she needed professional guidance, and her previous experience might not suffice.
"I really want to learn well," Sheng Tang said with a smile, "Don’t mind my past, I’ll be asking for your guidance from now on."
You Peng nodded.
Gu Shiting’s progress no longer needed to be repeated, he had essentially completed his training, so You Peng would only co to give him pointers once a month.
He practiced on the sandbag nearby while Sheng Tang followed the coach’s rigorous training.
After a few days, Sheng Tang beca more proficient; as the coach had said, she had the reactions, her only shortcoming was that her body couldn’t keep up.
This issue could be easily resolved with more practice to synchronize.
With Gu Shiting’s first treatnt cycle completed, Sheng Tang planned to return ho.
With only four days until the New Year, Sheng Tang wanted to spend ti with her parents and grandmother.
She told Gu Shiting about this.
"I’m going back today, I’ll co back on the fifth day of the New Year," Sheng Tang said, "For now, pause your treatnt and consult Doctor Sun to see if it’s okay."
