The energy that had turned into lake water and the power that ford the Patronus were of the sa nature and the sa kind. They were both positive and happy emotions. The Patronus could absorb this energy and make it its own.

However, absorbing and controlling such a huge amount of energy through the Patronus required extrely high ntal control from the caster.

With Evan’s current level of magic, this was also an extrely difficult challenge, and if he failed, it would inevitably affect Dumbledore’s spellcasting, with dire consequences. …

“Evan, I hope that when I begin casting and guiding the Twin Serpent Staff, you can assist by using your Patronus to draw away this energy, so I can face the North Sea Kraken and the evil god’s brain below,” Dumbledore continued, as if sensing Evan’s hesitation. “This is important. I believe you can do it. You have the strength. Slytherin’s locket has an energy-guiding effect. It will help you control the Patronus.”

“I’ll try, Professor!” said Evan, no longer declining.

To be honest, he was not worried about himself now, but about the spell that Dumbledore was going to use to guide the Twin Serpent Staff.

If the whole matter was just about the Patronus, and Evan failed to control it and absorb the energy, that wouldn’t be a big deal. But the issue was much more than that; if Dumbledore failed with the Twin Serpent Staff, the price would be his life.

To use an imperfect taphor, it was as if Dumbledore were handling a nuclear bomb; any slight negligence or misstep could detonate it. The catastrophic consequences of such a blast went without saying, and the destruction caused by a misfired Twin Serpent Staff might not be any less than that of a nuclear explosion. It would be a disaster.

Evan didn’t know much about this Staff, but he was well aware that it was not a magic item to be treated lightly.

Since Dumbledore had made up his mind and was ready, Evan said no more. He trusted Dumbledore, and he trusted himself.

He looked at Dumbledore again, then raised his wand to summon his Patronus.

“Expecto Patronum!” Evan shouted loudly, his wand tracing a beautiful arc through the air.

A silvery mist burst from the tip of his wand, gradually surrounding his whole body, and finally rging with the shimring surface of the lake.

His corporeal Patronus, a dazzling leopard, leapt out and ran quickly around the lake, leaving trails of silver light in its wake.

Blub-blub, blub-blub!

Sensing the presence of the Patronus above, the lake stirred, releasing nurous bubbles.

Evan directed his Patronus to touch the water, and then sothing strange happened.

Silvery energy beams rose upward as the reversed-flowing lake water gathered around the Patronus and rged into it.

Just like what happened earlier when diving down, the leopard’s body grew larger and larger. It was all pure energy, expanding energy.

By the ti the Patronus had circled the lake once and returned, it had grown large enough to tower over the three people standing at the lakeside!

Evan focused all his attention on controlling his Patronus, clearly feeling the trendous power coursing through it.

At this very mont, his consciousness had already rged with his Patronus. He was the black panther racing around the Twin Serpent Staff. From this strange, close vantage point, he observed this legendary magic item.

There seed to be nothing special about the simple Staff, just like an ordinary branch. If it weren’t for the two giant serpents entwined on it, no one would have thought that it was a powerful magic item.

Although he had seen it many tis before, Evan had never truly felt how extraordinary the Twin Serpent Staff was.

As his incarnation of the Patronus beca more powerful, the Staff began to look different in his eyes.

A dark green light erged from the Staff, shining brightly.

Evan got closer and observed carefully, and realized that the flowing light was actually made up of countless densely packed runes — the sa runes that covered Dumbledore’s right hand — etched across the entire Staff.

The more energy gathered, the more powerful Evan felt, and the more brightly those glowing runes shimred. It was not only the brilliance of the runes, but also the aura of power they exuded, a presence as tangible as substance.

This was a power far greater than that of the Patronus. Evan felt that even if he controlled the Patronus to absorb all the energy from the entire lake, it still wouldn’t compare in the slightest to the power of the Twin Serpent Staff.

In terms of the amount of energy, his Patronus might now surpass the Staff.

However, in terms of strength of energy, it was nowhere near it.

The more energy his Patronus absorbed, the more Evan could feel the overwhelming might of the Staff. The sense of oppression from this magic item was getting stronger and stronger!

That oppressive feeling even exceeded the ntal strain required to control the Patronus. Evan had to keep absorbing more energy from the lake just to maintain it.

Otherwise, his Patronus might dissipate at any mont. Fortunately, he no longer needed to consciously control the process; energy from the lake was now flowing into the Patronus automatically, and at an incredible speed.

The Patronus was like a huge magnet, constantly absorbing the energy below.

The surface of the lake was visibly sinking, and the base of the Twin Serpent Staff, which had been resting on the water, was sinking with it.

The lake water receded, revealing the area it had once subrged.

Evan shifted his attention and looked around instead of staring directly at the Staff, which noticeably eased the pressure he felt.

All around, where there had once been lake water, there were now only fleshy walls like those outside — narrow at the top, wider below, with the space expanding the deeper they went.

The surface of the flesh walls was uneven and rough, showing clear signs of having been hollowed out by brute force — claw marks or gouges left by so creature.

After the Kraken found the sea worm, it had hollowed it out and turned it into what it was now.

This had once been its nest, but now it had beco its prison.

Salazar Slytherin’s magic imprisoned the evil god’s brain and the Kraken together here. Azkaban was the ancient magical word for “prison,” but it was never just a prison for wizards..

The energy surged, and the surface of the lake rapidly dropped.

Soon, the scene below began to change. The flesh walls subrged in the water were no longer straight, but began to twist and distort.

Layer upon layer of purple flesh walls ca into view before the three of them. Upon closer inspection, they were actually coiled tentacles.

They looked like countless thick serpents, densely entwined in a single direction. Their exact form was hard to describe.

Indescribable horrors!

This was the Kraken, enslaved and controlled by the evil god’s brain.

While being controlled, its physical form had also been corrupted, now bearing the sa twisted traits as the creations of the evil god. The innermost tentacles appeared especially diseased and grotesque.

The lake water continued to decrease, and more and more of the Kraken was exposed.

Evan guided his now-enormous Patronus down toward the coiling tentacles. The silvery mist touched the flesh, and a plu of black smoke rose, where the tentacles t the light, they began to blur and flicker, their outlines becoming eerily distinct within the silvery fog.

At this mont, without any warning, the cluster of tentacles below suddenly squird.

They surged toward Evan’s Patronus, boiling and spreading, festering endlessly like an open wound.
