"Oh?" Nick said pleasantly surprised to notice that the furnace ca preloaded with dragon fla on the dial. "Sothing wrong mate?" one of the twins asked nervously after hearing him. Nick laughed "No , quite the opposite in fact. Whoever you got this from has done you a favor and loaded an additional fla type to it for free." he explained with a wide smile. the twins perked up "Really? which kind?" one of the asked curiously. "Nothing crazy mind you , just dragon fire but it was still nice of them." Nick said honestly.-
"Guess we should send them a thank you letter then." the other twin said with a smile. Nick finished his check on the furnace and nodded with a satisfied expression before lifting the heavy thing with the levitation charm. "I'll take this to my workshop to get it set up , feel free to join if you'd like." he said giving everyone in the common room an open invitation. more than a few people shuffled behind him as he hauled the furnace to his room and unlocked the door with his key and entered. It was funny how many of these people stopped in surprise at all the tools laid out on the ground and the anvil in the center of the room.-
"Didn't you just get this room yesterday?" Seamus asked confused. Nick set the furnace down at the far wall of the room. "Yeah , why?" he asked not understand the problem. "But how do you already have so many tools then?" the boy asked seriously. Nick finally understood what was causing the confusion "I already had all these tools but until I had this room they were in storage." he explained calmly. Seamus seed to understand after that and remained quiet as he curiously checked out the tools with the others.-
Nick had to ss with so things in order to get the furnace at the right height for easy use but eventually his workshop was finally functional. "Alright now I just need to get to work so unless you all want to get hot and bored you should probably leave." he said honestly as he cranked on the furnace sending a wave of heat throughout the room. Most of the people left but Fred and George seed eager to watch whatever he was about to do.-
Nick saw this and shrugged " Suit yourselves , I'm just breaking down materials till dinner which is pretty boring." he said while pulling one of the lost tal items he got from the room of requirents and tossed it into the furnace. He then cranked up the heat and waited for the tal to start threatening to liquify before pulling it out with his tongs and placing it on the anvil. Holding the tal with the tongs in his left hand he struck the tal very hard with his hamr deforming it greatly. Again and again he struck the tal until it was a completely flat sheet that he then folded over itself again and again till it was a square of folded tal.-
This then went into the furnace again to reheat till threatening ltage again before being placed back on the anvil and forge welded together into a rough ingot of tal. He then placed the still hot ingot on the floor in a corner before taking out another object from greed and repeating this process. He repeated this for four whole hours during which ti the twins chatted amongst themselves about what they were seeing him do. Flitwick also briefly showed up having been draw in by the sound of the tal being struck.-
He briefly chatted with the twins about the importance of this step that Nick was taking care of early so it wasn't a problem later. Salvaging materials was a pain to do when you were on a ti crunch so it was bettor to get it done all at once. The small professor also looked at the various ingots that had been neatly placed in a corner and seed surprised at so of the rare tals he saw there. He had an especially strange expression when he saw goblin silver amongst them.-
When six finally ca around Nick shut off the furnace and wiped his brow to clear away so of the sweat that had gathered there. Unlike a normal fla this furnace was set at an extrely high temperature this entire ti to expedite the process. With a wave of his wand all the sweat and tal shards gathered off of him and were then banished. "I am surprised you two stuck around for so long." he told the twins honestly. ""Seed like sothing worth knowing is all."" they said at the sa ti with grins.
