"Why not just make wands out of tal or so other material if wood is so picky?" Nick asked confused. Olivander chuckled when he heard this question "When I was a young man , barely out of Hogwarts in fact , I too asked that question and I found the answer. As it turns out you can in fact make wands out of other materials but they each had their own problems that wooden wands didn't have. For example a wand made out of tal could not grow at all after being bound to a wizard as tal is a stagnant thing normally" he said honestly.-

"Sure tal is strong and steady but this very sa set of properties is what makes it a terrible choice for a wand. Stone has similar problems but with the added twist of each type of stone having it's own affinities as well. In theory you could use bone as a material without any problems , however from what I have found wands made of bone are extrely stubborn about who they serve." Olivander continued speaking about the various problems of making wands out of things other than wood and Nick absorbed the information while writing it down greedily.-

Soon Olivander noticed the ti and drew the lesson to a close for the day but walked over to his collection of books and grabbed three from the shelf before handing them to Nick. "These books were titled {A Veritological compendium} , {Wand crafting for beginners} and {A guide to runes and their use}. "Seeing as it's a Friday I will give you these to study over the next two days before quizzing you on the material. Other than that you are free to pursue whatever you wish in this ti." The old man said before leaving for the front of the shop.-

Nick stored the books in Greed and fell into thought about the information he had just learned. ' If tal and stone truly lack the ability to grow stronger over ti as a wand then how does the growth enchantnt of my rings work? Do I break so fundantal rule of magic whenever I enchant sothing or is there sothing no one has noticed missing when it's used to make wands that I have sohow added?' he pondered deeply with furrowed brows as the answer seed to elude him.-

Nick knew he was talented and that his enchantnt thod was a bit special but he very much doubted that he was the only one to notice the problem with why tal made for terrible wands. The Olivander family had been making and selling wands since 300 B.C which was over 2000 years so they had likely tried to discover the ins and out's of the situation and yet had failed sohow. The very thought brought chills to Nick as it ant that an entire family of wand specialist had failed the very topic he was pondering.-

'Forget it I'll figure it out later , I have ti after all.' He eventual gave up and left the shop to go exploring the alley properly since he didn't get the opportunity previously. It ca to no surprise to him that the diagon alley was far more complicated than it first appeared once you got the chance to actually look it over properly. For example there wasn't just the big na stores in the alley selling things as Nick found six book stores besides flourish and blots that while not nearly as busy did still do business. He checked the books in these stores carefully and found that many of them contained what would be considered "ancient" section books in Hogwarts.-

Not many mind you but enough that Nick's personal collection grew by nearly thirty new tos taking up quite a bit of space in Greed. This unfortunately reminded him that he needed to sohow expand the space in the ring as what he had was no longer enough. The problem however ca in the form of him not wanting to scrap the current enchantnts on the ring to reforge it. As it stood right now Greed's enchantnts were still very useful despite being amongst the oldest enchanted pieces Nick had ever made.-

'I suppose a professional enchanter may be able to help in this regard , I hope so anyways.' Nick thought as he left the last book store. After that he noticed it was getting close to dinner ti and started looking for a restaurant to dine in at. He soon found a small place hidden around a corner with a faded sign with lights on inside it {Crumonte's Culinary Creations - Family owned and operated since 1578} the sign read. Nick's curiosity was peaked so he walked over to the old wooden door and pulled it open setting off a bell.
