Nick frowned at this as he had made sure that his talent at flying hadn't ever been too pronounced during class. As far as he was concerned what he had shown wasn't nearly good enough for her to personally co to him in regards to if he planned to play quidditch. "Tsk , I thought so after Sinistra told of your little flight christmas night. It was clear in class that you weren't really going all out but what I can't understand is why? What was stopping you this whole ti?" she asked with honest confusion.-
Nick groaned after hearing what she said as he had totally forgotten about the astronomy professor who certainly had a reason to regularly stare at the sky. "If you insist on knowing then it was simply because I didn't want to waste my ti. Quidditch is a ti sink that demands huge amounts of ti training and is limited by an assortnt of rules and regulations that sucks all the fun out of flying in my opinion. To answer your question about playing next year then no I will not be. Is that all?" Nick said seriously.-
Madam Hooch visibly recoiled from Nick's scathing tone of her favorite past ti. She looked at Nick deeply for a few monts before shaking her head and leaving with a disappointed expression. "Rather harsh that ti no?" Helena asked concerned at how he seed to snap at the professor over an innocent looking series of questions. Nick took a deep breath to calm himself "You're right , I overreacted this ti. I'll need to find a way to apologize it seems." Nick said with a sigh. "It just made so angry that she asked to settle for a cloud when I could have the whole sky." he said honestly.-
Nick relaxed after that for the rest of the week after having ordered the erald for Malfoy's ring. Harry had woken up three days after the incident and spoken to Dumbledore who arrived there shortly after he woke up since Madam Pomfrey told him. A thing that made Nick frown however was that during the clash between Harry and Voldemort the dark lord had apparently cursed by saying "How dare that brat touch what is mine!". Clearly Nick and Helena had set off the man's traps right when he was in confrontation with Harry alerting him to the defenses he placed being triggered.-
'It doesn't matter since he won't be able to return for at least another three years and by that point I might have already destroyed all of his horcruxes' Nick thought with a sigh. The original plan had been to systematically destroy the cursed artifacts one by one before having Harry deal the final blow to the man while the dark lord was none the wiser. Now though Nick had about three years to get the job mostly done before the man ca looking for revenge.-
At the end of the week the exam scores were announced early in the morning with Nick in first place and Hermione in close second followed by Daphne in third. Harry , Tracy and Ron passed but only with average scores compared to the three brains of the group. There was quite the uproar during dinner when the great hall was decorated with Slytherin colors for winning the house cup but right before they could gloat about it Dumbledore happened. Nick found it funny how the man preached about unity and healthy competition before directly rigging the house cup for Gryffindor to win.-
Tracy and Ron had a whole back and forth session about who should have rightfully won the house cup over the next couple days but Nick wisely stayed out of it. Finally May which was the final month at Hogwarts ca around and Nick learned that the religious wizarding practices of Beltane actually made so sense. They had been outlawed of course but the premise was that this date was when the whole planet had a sharp upsurge in magical energy. Nick found out the hard way that it was true too as he was reading one mont and the next gushing blood from his nose as his magical senses were overloaded.-
The surge didn't last long rely three hours but Nick was magically blind during that window which made him uncomfortable. He had finally finished digesting his gains from the energy he received from the horcrux as well during that holiday causing his own magical energy reserves to grow by a lot. If before he was about the middle of the fifth year in terms of amount , he was now a good way into the sixth year. This was to say that right now his magic was about as potent as an adult wizard who wasn't very good in school.
