Nick got into a massive snowball war thanks to the twins that maybe got a little out of hand after breakfast. "They have us pinned down mates and I see no hope of a sacrifice less victory , avenge !" Nick said dramatically while tanking the hail of cold snow to cover for his friends to approach the twins. It was all in all a good day for Nick full of laughs and smiles the entire ti. Dinner was a grand feast of all the christmas favorites as well as wizard crackers. Unlike the muggle version of the things like made a quiet sound and shot out confetti these were loud and released totally random things when used.-
A good example of this was that Nick had personally seen the things release live mice , a wizards chess set and even a broom. Harry got the chess set while Nick got the broom much to Ron's jealousy. Usually first years weren't allowed to have their own broom but due to the circumstances of his acquisition no one made a fuss about it. Still Nick planned to sneak out later that night to truly let loose for the first ti on a broom.-
It was right after dinner that Nick snuck off to the astronomy tower with his broom without telling anyone. Hogwarts astronomy tower was cold and covered in snow since it hadn't been cleaned during the entire holidays. None of this mattered to Nick however as he mounted his broom and silently floated above the "ground" before leaning forward to accelerate. The broom shot forward like a bolt of lightning and the air whistled past Nicks ears. He didn't pay any attention to how he moved on the broom and simply let instinct guide him as he zipped across the sky at breakneck speeds.-
A wide smile covered Nicks face as he leaned back on the broom causing it to fly straight up until he flew right into a cloud. It was cold and wet but he shot straight through the cloud and found himself above the clouds under the pale moon light more alive then ever. In a crazy maneuver he flipped the broom and released it with his hands as he fell into a rapid spiraling freefall. The black lake grew closer and closer but Nick was completely relaxed as the entire sky was his domain and he could never crash while in it.-
A re instant before he would have smashed into the lake at terminal velocity Nick curved the broom underneath him and transferred all of his downwards montum forward causing him to shoot over the top of the lake leaving a huge wake behind him from the air pressure. If anyone with in depth knowledge of broom riding were to be watching they were be astonished at how nimble and fast Nick was in the air as if he was born to fly. After a couple of hours flying about the sky Nick finally landed on the astronomy tower and began to carefully return to the Gryffindor tower.-
Filch had caught the trail of soone sneaking about the castle thanks to a book in the forbidden section of the library having been disturbed. Nick was surprised at this since Harry already knew about Nicolas Flal and had no reason to break into the forbidden section like he did in the book. Nick was good enough at transfiguration that he sank into a wall seamlessly as Harry rushed by him on the first floor and into one of the disused rooms of the castle.-
Nick's magical senses told him nothing of the boy's presence which chilled him a bit as it showed the power of a deathly hallow. There was not even the tiniest ripple in the magic nearby as Harry moved through it when not even Dumbledore's disillusionnt charm accomplished this. The fact that the old man was following Harry explained why he had went to the restricted section. 'The old goat is still trying to manipulate Harry for so reason.' Nick thought with narrowed eyes. He had assud that with his presence Dumbledore wouldn't risk it since Nick was greatly affecting Harry's personality but apparently this wasn't true.-
The wall of the castle rippled as Nick transfigured his way out once he was sure Filch wasn't coming and walked over to the door Harry and Dumbledore entered. He pulled it open startling Harry who no longer had his cloak over himself. "Nick? What are you doing here?" Harry asked confused and Nick chuckled "I snuck out to play around on my new broom , what about you?" he asked while showing the broom in his left hand. Harry changed the subject and pointed out the large ornate mirror in the center of the otherwise empty room as well as what he saw in it.
