As Mason navigated through the city he tried understanding what happened a few seconds ago. For a mont he felt like he had entered a trance as his mind went blank.

’I see..’ He spoke softly within his thoughts, with each dangerous circumstances he found himself in. The system automatically activated his dormant skills in order to save him.

Passing by a boulder, he heard slight whimpering sounds behind it. "What? Another monster?"

He approached the boulder cautiously, clutching Lycan’s fangs in his hands tightly.

As he ca upfront, he found Neo hiding behind the boulder, scared out of his wits.

’Oh, it’s that bastard from earlier.’ He put away the poisonous fangs and released a soft sigh. He wasn’t exactly thrilled to see him, after all he abandoned him when he was in danger.

’I thought those agents hand selected spirit casters powerful enough to make it to the academy, how the hell did he get chosen?’

"Mason!" Neo sprang up to his feet at the sight of Mason. "I’m sorry for running away, I thought they were going to eat ."

’How manly.’ Mason put on a fake smile, clearly Neo had no balls to bear the mantle of a spirit caster.

"What’s done is done, at least I made it out it one piece."

"Did you co across that wolf beast?"

"Wolf beast?" The mories ca flooding back, it was the sa wolf beast that even the Lycan’s fangs had no effect on. "Yeah... I killed it."

"What!? How did you kill that beast!?" In Neo’s perspective, the wolf beast was on an entirely different level, regardless of how strong he thought Mason was, it was impossible.

"I’m not entirely sure."

’If not for the dungeon raid increasing my battle stats earlier I really would have been in trouble.’ Mason said in his thoughts.

"Let’s go."

[30:56]

The notifications from the translucent blue screen displayed to them the stipulated ti they needed to stay alive till the first stage was cleared.

"Where are we going Mason?" Neo called out, his voice sharp with urgency they broke into a run toward the crumbling gates of the abandoned city.

"Well to them." He replied as they passed through the entrance of the city and t face to face with several humanoid beasts about 4-15 feet in height.

"Are you crazy!?"Neo exclaid as he saw what he had led them to, their apparent doom. Several teams had already been defeated and transported back ho while the others prevailed against the beasts they ca in contact with.

"Not at all." He replied again, dashing forward at the beasts.

"The requirents for passing this stage isn’t surviving, it’s by how many monsters a caster slays."

Mason extended his right palm toward the trio of humanoid beasts that lood in his path, his energy surged through his arms and gathered in his palm.

With a swift motion, he unleashed a telekinetic wave that hit the beasts in his path like a hamr, pushing them backwards with an overwhelming pressure in an instant.

The force of the telekinetic wave split the earth beneath him, leaving jagged cracks spidering through the ground in it’s path.

[Team Mason has slain a D-rank beast]

[You have gained 3 Spirit points!]

[Team Mason has slain a D-rank beast!]

[You have gained 2 Spirit points!]

[Team Mason has slain a E-rank beast!]

[You have gained 1 Spirit point!]

As the notifications from the system were displayed before Mason’s eyes he knew he was getting closer. Neo was left astonished after he witnessed first hand the true ability of Mason’s Spirit energy.

"W-what was that?" He felt a surge of energy escape Mason’s hands, but he couldn’t exactly see what it was that took out the beasts in a flash.

"Telekinetic waves, that’s my spirit power, the ability to manipulate telekinetic waves to my will." Mason responded, glancing at the screens that continuously popped up.

"What?" Neo might have been a scared caster, but he was well knowledgeable in the affairs of spirit energy, and from his knowledge, it was frankly impossible.

"Telekinetic waves from a D-rank caster strong enough to crush even a C-rank beast with ease? Impossible..." He muttered to himself as his gaze lingered on Mason.

"Who the hell are you really?"

Before Mason could answer, a blue translucent screen popped up in both Mason’s and Neo’s line of vision.

[Team Kaori has slain six A-rank beasts!]

[Team Kaori has slain an S-rank beast!]

"Fuck..." Mason mumbled, unable to believe the developnt in front of him.

"This is the power of nobles born with insane amount of spiritual energy, Lady Kaori is no exception, as a matter of fact, she is referred to as one of the strongest female soul caster of our ti."

It was hard to believe that she was the sa woman he subdued monts before the exams started.

"Well, no point in reflecting on it now."

As ti passed, five minutes was all that was left for the remaining teams that had survived till now, they other teams were thrilled but Mason’s was slightly worried. He suspected that the stage would only get harder from here on and he was right.

The screams of the spirit casters from the other teams could be heard by everyone, the aggressive man beasts devoured them one by one.

"Look out!" Mason exclaid pointing his right finger forward as a beast attempted to grab and devour them. He moved swiftly, pushed Neo out of the way and evaded the hands of the man beast.

Imdiately, he used his telekinetic abilities to blast a hole in the forehead of the beast.

[Team Mason has slain an A-rank beast!]

[You have gained 5 Spirit points!]

[You have levelled up!]

The system displayed the notifications from their accomplishnt, like a rush of energy, Mason could feel his spiritual energy increase in power, growing in strength as he levelled up but it was far from over.

They had less than three minutes to survive but it beca only worse for them. The largest beast among all the beasts present in the city approached the duo, with each step it took the ground was shaken by it’s massive weight.

The beast had four eyes and a red body with sharp teeth, it was 25 feet tall and the largest creature that reigned terror upon the teams.

"I guess this is our final challenge for this stage." Mason spoke with no intentions of running away even with victory around the corner in re minutes.

As Mason saw the ti left for the first stage he glanced upwards at the creature, there was no ti left so he had to defeat it quickly. He closed his eyes and activated his skill [Bloodlust Of The Assassin]

His hair casted a shadow over his eyes that glowed a faint white, his face beca completely expressionless. Swiftly he moved in a way that caught Neo off guard, bolting in the air like a lightning bolt that was hard to trace. His movents beca extraordinary and his footsteps were not audible enough.

Mason ran up the body of the beast and attacked it swiftly, he delivered powerful barrage of kicks and blows on it’s body which was difficult even for the eyes of Neo to follow.

’How is he doing this?’ Neo thought, as he watched Mason do what was supposed to be impossible for a D-rank spirit caster, his movents was swift, sharp and precise. Even the beast couldn’t touch him as it tried to throw him of his body but Mason just evaded every attack it threw at him.

’This is not the movent of a D-rank Spirit caster, just who the hell is he...’

"Mason! Watch out!" Neo exclaid as he stared up at the large beast, it’s eyes turned red and it swiftly emitted a red beam of energy from it’s eyes towards the Mason who was stuck airborne.
