Elara did not sleep.

She sat.

Cross-legged in the ashes, eyes open, staring at her hands as if they didn’t belong to her.

Shaera watched from a distance.

Ryon sat a few feet away, quiet, saying nothing—because silence was sotis the only kindness.

Kneeling, he gently pressed his forehead to hers.

"You stayed."

Her breath hitched.

"I’m not your guardian anymore."

"No," he said, "You’re sothing more. You’re not bound to protect now."

"You’re free... to choose ."

It wrapped around her like a cloak.

Her ashes beca sparks.

And for the first ti in years, Elara walked without flinching.
