Hi everyone!
I hope that life has been treating you well since the last ti I posted here. I've spent the ti since I finished guild mage prepping and writing a new series; if you've been on my Patreon or Discord, you probably know all about it.
BUT, if not, let talk your ear off for thirty seconds. There are a lot of genres I love, and want to write in. I've got notes files cramd with ideas for post-apocalyptic, superhero, cultivation, cyberpunk and vampire stories, among other things. I was honestly a bit up in the air as to what I was going to write next, and even got about five chapters of a surian-flavored fantasy down before I felt like it just wasn't clicking.
Guild Mage always had threads of sci-fi running through it, from the first ntion of the orbital ring, and we dug more and more into that over ti. I wanted to play with the concept of taking a magitech civilization all the way up to a Kardashev II scale, and that's where the Vaedim ca from.
The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
This ti, the sci-fi is front and center.
You'll find many of the elents I loved writing in guild mage - a group of friends, politics, conflict, and relationships. Rather than spells, the progression elents will be cybernetic, genetic modifications, and - personal favorite - cha. If you've ever liked Gundam or Battletech, or the adjacent stuff like Robotech/Macross, Potlabor, Eureka 7, etc etc, co on over and check it out. Or even if you're not certain about cha, but willing to go out on a limb for a story about a group of kids climbing the ranks in a space navy during a ti of war :)
