"You, what are you doing here?" Yu Dong turned to look at Yu Tong who was hugging her. As far as she knew Yu Tong should have gone to work in the town, what was she doing in the village?
What Yu Dong didn’t know was that the entire town knew about Yu Cheng harassing and scheming against Ji Chuan. Gossip was flying around in the entire town.
Yu Tong who went to town not only heard the ssy rumours that were spreading all over the place but she also heard that Yu Cheng and his family needed to compensate a million taels to the family whose field was set on fire.
Even though no nas were taken or spread, Yu Tong who knew what was going on was shocked and surprised. She knew her mother too well and she also knew that her mother would rather fight to death than hand over money.
So she imdiately returned to the village and on her way she t with Aunt Wang who was returning to the town. Aunt Wang told her what happened and sighed heavily again and again.
’I shouldn’t say this but your mother —— sigh, she is really too much Tong’er ah!’
From those words alone, Yu Tong knew that her mother had done sothing to Yu Dong.
And so when Yu Tong saw Yu Dong whose toes were covered in blood while her clothes were in a ss, she almost cried out loud.
Yu Dong was speechless when she heard about how the entire town knew about the ss that Yu Cheng had made but then again, she knew that it would be surprising if Madam Ji stayed quiet after finding out the truth behind the entire ss.
That woman didn’t seem like soone who would stay still when she was in the wrong much less when she was in the right.
She sighed and said to Yu Tong, "Go drink so water. I am fine there is no need for you to cry like I am on my last breath, unless your mother can fling a mountain at , I am not dying."
In fact, she might even survive that.
Yu Tong nodded while sobbing. She wiped her tears and went to drink so water as she had indeed run all the way to the village.
"You should still be careful," Ye Liu heard Yu Dong’s boastful words and sighed. "You are lucky that Second Aunt was too agitated to aim properly or else you would have been hurt greatly."
"Don’t worry, Liu. I know, I was just surprised."
"Ahh! Ahhh! Mo!"
Yu Jin scampered over to where Yu Dong was when he heard her voice, behind him was Bo Bo who crawled slowly and stared at his mother who ca back after rolling in mud.
Yu Jin ran to Yu Dong and asked her to hug her the mont he saw her.
Yu Dong also wanted to hug her son but she was a ss at that mont. She smiled at Yu Jin before saying, "Ah Jin go and play with your little brother. Mother will co and hug you once she has taken a bath."
Who knows what kind of things were mixed in the mud that Yu Linyun threw at her? It slled awful.
"Ah!" Yu Jin protested but Ye Liu picked him up and patted him on the bottom. "Your mother is dirty, you want to follow her lead and beco dirty as well?"
Yu Jin pouted but he didn’t cry. He looked at his mother who was dirty and then turned to look at Ye Liu before pointing at the chicks who were outside.
"You want to feed the chicks? Very well, Daddy Liu will take you to feed the chicks."
While Ye Liu took the kids to feed the chicken, Yu Dong walked to the bathing room in the backyard where she saw Chen Mi pouring lukewarm water in the wooden basin.
"It’s enough you can go back now," Yu Dong said to Chen Mi. She didn’t think he would fill up the entire vat, she only asked him to boil the water and let the mammies fill up the rest.
As Yu Dong could not withstand too hot or cold water, she always bathed with lukewarm water and Chen Mi knew that too.
Why was he filling the wooden basin all alone?
"Hey, Mi?" Yu Dong walked over to where Chen Mi was and tipped his chin up when she did not hear his response. "What’s wrong——- why are you crying?"
"It is my fault!" Chen Mi burst into tears as soon as Yu Dong ca to look for him alone. "I was the one who told you all the bad things Yu Linyun did, if I had not done that then you wouldn’t have fought with her so fiercely and you wouldn’t have received such an injury."
"I was petty and wanted to make Yu Linyun suffer but in the end….in the end, I caused you to get hurt—— whahhhh!!!" Chen Mi cried while wiping his tears but the more he wiped his tears the more he cried.
He couldn’t stop his tears at all!
Yu Dong was stunned when she saw Chen Mi cry. She had never seen her husbands cry like this, so she was at a loss when she saw Chen Mi cry like this.
"Hush, hush. There is no need to cry like this—— it is not even a big injury. And it did not happen because of you, I would have refused Yu Linyun no matter what. She would have attacked
anyway."
"It is not you. It’s that woman——dear lord why are you crying so badly, when I am the one who is bleeding?"
Yu Dong held Chen Mi around his shoulders as she wiped his tears.

"It is okay! It’s okay, you were not at fault," Yu Dong repeated as she helped Chen Mi sit down on the stool next to the wooden basin.
Usually, it was used to keep clean clothes.
