All grenades exploded at once when they touched the sand, sending a great deal of dust into the sky, filling the air with gray. The sand and dust reached the top of the wall and obstructed the enemy team's vision.
"Shoot shoot shoot!"
The team leader shouted and shot his guns everywhere. Flashes parted the dust away, giving a bit of vision to the team above the wall.
Naturally, due to the thick dust, they were still unable to locate Max and Atlas. Muffled with the sound of shooting, they couldn't hear footsteps approaching them to the side.
When the team realized it, they had already been downed, left with the only sniper rifle that survived the assault because he was in a prone position. Two muzzles were pointed at his head, one short and one long.
"I gi–"

Watching the screen, the spectators were filled with excitent.
"Ooooh!"
"They did it!"
"They managed to destroy 2 bases right on ti."
Flexy read the notification and laughed loudly with his hands on his hips.
"Hahaha, we did it! We can win this ga!"
So far, the plan went smoothly. The orange-haired strear was able to see Lily return safely to the base after harassing other teams. And in the far distance, he could see his buddy and Atlas running back after getting an extra 1000 annihilation points.
In the sky, the countdown to the third wave had reached 10 seconds. It was enough ti for them to return, but they would have no ti to rest and get new ammo and bombs.
"We were a bit late, my bad." Max said to Flexy as he landed beside him.
Following him, Atlas and Lily also landed next to him.
"Can you handle the third wave alone for a few seconds?" He asked his orange buddy, eliciting a scoff from him.
"Hah, I have defended this place alone in the previous ga until the fourth wave. Just a few mutated cockroaches will be able to touch the wall with here."
"I'll take your word then," Max smirked and jumped down.
"Please don't damage the wall," Lily added before she followed Max. Her ammunition was fully depleted from hitting many places earlier.
Atlas only nodded before following the couple to refill his equipnt and magazines.
"Hahaha, they are underestimating ."
When the countdown reached 0, a horde of cockroaches appeared from the East. Flexy imdiately took so magazines on the ground and ran to the East wall. The machine gun was heavy, so his running speed was slower than everyone else.
However, he managed to reach the East wall easily before the horde was halfway to the wall. He imdiately threw two bio-chemical grenades and let them blow in two places, guiding the roaches to go through the gap.
And waiting in that gap was his machine gun muzzle.
Zuzuzuzuzuzu!
Energy bullets were sent flying at a fast speed, filling the air. It created small explosions everyti it hit cockroaches, thinning the horde little by little.
"Hahahaha!" A shrill laughter filled the air. "Too easy! This is too easy!"

While team OrangeSquash laughed loudly, saying the match was too easy, AntiMG in team RH4 was in a bind. He was downed without even realizing it.
"It's useless. Having a sniper rifle is useless if I am the one who dies first." He grumbled loudly as he shot the third wave horde in the distance. A loud explosion rang when the bullet hit the cockroaches. "This weapon sucks. I better use a rifle."
"Don't complain, Anti! We need to survive this and go beyond." RH4 team leader bellowed back, "We will change our plan after this. Two people in the base while you and Nagan go find the third wave boss. We can't allow any loss anymore. Let's risk it."
"Got it." The man called Nagan nodded.
"I guess I will stay in the base then." Kokoko shrugged his shoulders, feeling disappointed that he was on guard duty.
"You want to go out? With this heavy stuff?" AntiMG asked in disbelief, "Don't you think I should protect the base instead?"
"Negative." The leader shook his head as he reloaded his rifle. "The enemy will definitely involve their sniper to get the world boss. While heavy, it has the biggest damage out of all weapons. We will have a higher chance of killing the boss with a sniper rifle. That's why you go."
"That makes sense." AntiMG nodded, feeling convinced by his leader's reasoning. "Alright, I will go."
"Good. Let's kill them all and find the wave boss."
With a newly thought plan, team RH4 began to annihilate the horde earnestly. Following that, AntiMG and Nagan departed to find the third wave boss. They scouted the area around their base before going toward where they thought the boss was.
As professional players, they could find traces and estimate where the boss spawned based on that. They didn't need to use guerilla tactics or run around to find it.
A minute had passed since they left the base, and they managed to find the large cockroach behind a large boulder. They didn't approach it recklessly, as so teams apparently started to fight for the boss.
Just as RH4's team leader had guessed earlier, all players who went to the boss had a sniper rifle. No one tried to hit the boss first, afraid that soone would get the last kill.
It beca a stalemate between 4 teams, 5 if AntiMG counted his team.
"Most of them have 3 players. Maybe they haven't been harassed yet." Nagan comnted as he observed the people in the distance.
"Four teams with 3 people in the wave boss… I doubt they haven't been harassed yet. Based on their tense atmosphere, they probably have been hit and now just risk getting the extra 500 points from the wave boss. Just like us, but riskier."
AntiMG comnted and clicked his tongue.
"I have a bad feeling about this."
"Bad feeling?" Nagan asked his teammate and looked at him. "Why?"
"Because–"

AntiMG's words were cut off by 3 notifications. The teams surrounding the third wave boss disappeared one by one, leaving only 3 confused players there.
Those players' faces paled imdiately after realizing what happened and they ran away, ignoring the wave boss. Their base's safety was at risk. They couldn't linger any longer and risk getting eliminated.
"That's why." AntiMG finished his words without explaining and Nagan nodded.
"What should we do?"
"Do you need to ask?" He stood up and slung his sniper rifle behind his shoulder, "We need to return. Can't let Kokoko and the leader die."
"Alright."

In the end, no one killed the wave boss due to the fear of getting hit by the OrangeSquash's sly attack.
Only 5 teams were left in the first match. Currently, OrangeSquash's team led the match with more than 5000 points at the end of the third wave.
"HOLY MOLY!" Paul and Jake scread at once after seeing their godly play and strategy.
