23: Chapter 23 He Bent Down, Accommodating Her 23: Chapter 23 He Bent Down, Accommodating Her Jas Thompson was quite tall, roughly around 189 cm.
Julia Land stood at 170 cm.
She reached out her hands, stood on her tiptoes, and draped her delicate arms around his neck.
Jas Thompson raised an eyebrow.
Her on tiptoes must have looked a bit pitiable to him.
He bent down to accommodate her.
His deep gaze t her eyes.
“Mr.
Thompson, do you want to be my secret lover?
My Honey Brother?”
Her breath was close to him, her red lips not really touching.
Their flirtation had a bit of distance.
His eyes were affectionate and soft.
Her voice was gentle.
Jas Thompson chuckled.
Only she dared to flirt with him and then try to take it back.
The man pinned her against the wall, his hands clamping down on her wrists, a chill breath overwhelming her.
The dim yellow light above made her squint.
She tilted her head back.
Her slender eyes clung tightly to his towel.
“Call Honey Brother again, hm?”
“If you don’t want to be unable to get out of bed tomorrow, behave yourself now.”
A man when he becos sensual, his whole body is filled with hormones.
Julia Land smiled, “My period has co.”
That was like a full stop.
His gaze fell on her slender, soft hands.
After thinking it over, he gave up.
Fiercely, Jas Thompson scooped her up, strode over to the large bed, placed her on it, and rolled Julia Land into a cocoon with the blanket.
Wrapped up honestly in the blanket, Julia Land began to laugh, “I haven’t showered yet, how am I supposed to wash like this?”
She eyed his high-spirited body.
Jas Thompson was very open and didn’t bother to hide it.
He spoke to the cocoon on the bed, “I’m going to have a smoke.
You go take a shower.
Those dark circles under your eyes are quite evident.
Won shouldn’t stay up too late; it can lead to hormonal imbalances.”
Julia Land was moved one second, then speechless the next at Doctor Thompson’s words.
She rolled over once, tumbling out of the bedding.
After she finished showering, she still had to find Noah Quarter.
“I have sothing else to do later.”
Inside the bathroom, she dried her hair and opened the door, poking her head out to talk to Jas Thompson.
His fire had died down.
He put back on the clothes he had just taken off, his sowhat fastidious nature making him frown.
He walked up to the bathroom door, “I’m leaving.”
Seeing his calm deanor, Julia Land took a longer look at him.
The hairdryer still buzzed annoyingly.
She watched him.
Saw the smile in those very black eyes.
The bedroom door closed.
Jas Thompson left.
He went back to his room.
Trevor Sullivan subconsciously checked his watch, “That was quick?”
Jas Thompson started unbuttoning, taking off his dirty clothes.
His perfect body proportions made Trevor Sullivan sigh, “Good thing I’m straight.”
Jas Thompson’s lips curved in a leisurely grin as he looked downward.
Trevor Sullivan suddenly felt a chill down there, “Doctor Thompson, I was just joking.”
After Jas Thompson had his shower, Trevor Sullivan poured a glass of alcohol and handed it to him, phrasing his question, “I just want to ask, are you serious about Miss Land or just playing around?”
“Playing around?
Do you think I have as much ti as you to play with won?” Jas Thompson didn’t drink the alcohol, instead, pouring himself a glass of water, “I have surgery tomorrow, so no alcohol.”
That ant he was serious.
Trevor Sullivan looked at Jas Thompson with a bit of complexity, frowning, “She’s married.
You can have any woman you want.
Adult play is one thing, but why bother…”
He hadn’t finished his sentence when he saw the look in Jas Thompson’s eyes and raised his hands, “Alright, alright, I’ll stop talking.
If you like her, that’s all that matters.”
“They’re already divorced,” said Jas Thompson, nonchalantly.
Though the news of their divorce was still being kept secret, Jas Thompson could find out if he wanted to.
It was just that Julia Land and Noah Quarter still wanted to keep it a secret.
Jas Thompson respected Julia’s wishes and wouldn’t interfere too much for the ti being.
His eyes were slightly deep, his emotions hidden within.
On the other side, Julia Land went to find Noah Quarter.
The one who opened the door was Arabella Shaw, sitting in a wheelchair.
She smiled brightly at Julia and said, “Secretary Land, please have a seat on the sofa, and I’ll go call Noah.”
Julia’s expression was indifferent, “Thank you.”
When Noah and Julia were video calling Grandma Quarter, Arabella sat on another sofa, out of the cara’s view.
She glanced at Julia, who was sitting next to Noah, and then listened to their conversation with her gaze lowered.
“Noah, Julia, you’ve been working hard recently.
Have all the victim’s families been consoled?”
Grandma Quarter was also concerned about the factory fire in Grand City’s Technology Park.
The company’s stock price was falling, but at least it had not hit the limit-down.
“All the families have agreed to sign for compensation and assistance, but there is one deceased’s family with a special situation,” Noah turned to look at Julia.
Julia supplented, “The people we sent found out that Mr.
Yang’s wife may not be in good health, their relatives are not reliable, and if his wife passes away, with such a large sum of compensation, their daughter might have a hard ti.”
The dia had recently been focusing on the mother and daughter, and if Quarter Group didn’t handle it well, it would have so impact.
Noah said, “Grandma, you rest well.
I’ll take care of this matter.”
“You two should go rest too.
You’ve had a hard few days.”
Once Grandma Quarter had hung up the phone.
Julia left nonchalantly.
She didn’t want to disturb the sorrowful couple’s affection late at night.
“Julia.”
Noah called out to her, noticing her tired expression.
He said coldly, “Tomorrow, I’ll go to the hospital with you.”
They were supposed to visit the seriously injured patients in the hospital the next day.
Julia felt a sigh of relief in her heart.
She visited the injured patients under Mrs.
Quarter’s na, and sotis the families would be difficult.
Now that Noah would be with her at the hospital, that was even better.
What none of them expected was that even this hospital visit would be problematic.
One of the patients’ grandmothers suddenly threw a white porcelain bowl at Noah’s head.
The bowl ca too suddenly.
And she was sitting very close to Noah.
In a re instant,
Julia, who was standing behind Noah, reached out and the white porcelain bowl harshly hit her arm.
She groaned in pain.
The bodyguards, who were originally waiting outside the ward, rushed in to protect both Noah and Julia, while the family mbers stepped forward to calm their elderly relative.
“It’s all your fault!
If it weren’t for your damn factory, my grandson wouldn’t be suffering like this!
His life is ruined!”
The old woman’s voice was full of hatred.
Her dear grandson was seriously injured in his lower body, and the doctors said it was permanent.
For a man, such an injury ant the end of his lineage.
The old woman sat on the ground and cried.
Noah wrapped his arm around Julia’s shoulder, leading her out of the ward.
His face was dark, and his eyes were cold, “Where’s the attending surgeon?”
Julia covered her arm, the pain making her tears flow.
It really hurt.
It was so painful that she didn’t notice Noah’s hand on her shoulder.
At noon, in the hospital cafeteria, a few nurses were eating lunch, scrolling through their phones, and chatting.
“Did you guys see this news?
I happened to be the one bandaging Mrs.
Quarter’s hand today.”
“Mr.
and Mrs.
Quarter really do have a great relationship, one handso, the other beautiful.”
“Mrs.
Quarter is so brave.
If she hadn’t put out her hand to block that strike, Mr.
Quarter’s head might have been injured.”
“You didn’t see how anxious Mr.
Quarter looked.”
“CEO and his delicate wife.”
The nurses, witnessing the wealthy CEO and his delicate wife for the first ti, were a bit curious and gossiped a little.
Jas Thompson and two consulting doctors were eating at the next table.
Hearing the words “Mrs.
Quarter,” “Mr.
Quarter,” his gaze flickered, and his chopsticks paused briefly.
