20: Chapter 20 Wearing the Green Hat 20: Chapter 20 Wearing the Green Hat Julia Land nudged Jas Thompson.
Jas Thompson also conveniently let go of her.
She ant to get angry.
But upon seeing her lipstick on his thin lips, like a seductive man, “…What are you trying to say?
Trying to steal your great-nephew’s woman?”
Her phrasing was sowhat sarcastic.
Jas Thompson sat on the couch, a slight chuckle spilling out; his white bathrobe slightly undone, revealing a rather sexy chest.
He said, “You want to stay here, isn’t that what you’re hinting at?
Trying to seduce so your great-nephew wears a green hat?
What did he just say when he called?
Did it upset you?”
Julia Land, “…”
Why was this man so clever?
Indeed, there was a mont when Julia Land thought of getting back at Noah Quarter.
Sotis won are a bit petty.
She sumd up her many thoughts into one sentence, “It’s not just making him wear the green hat; he made wear one too.
We’re just giving each other green hats, that’s what’s called fairness.”
She might have been pushed to her rebellious core by Noah Quarter and his ilk during this ti.
Her audacity had grown considerably.
From a mouse’s courage to the gall of an unruly bear.
Perhaps all bottled up with anger.
Jas Thompson was left speechless by her talk of green hats.
And he was sowhat unfazed by her.
“Wait here.”
He made a call for soone to imdiately buy a green hat to bring over, “Hold on, change that to ten green hats.”
Julia Land, “?”
Ten minutes later.
The hotel’s chubby general manager, panting heavily, obsequiously delivered ten green hats.
Julia Land was pinned to the couch by Jas Thompson.
He pressed on her head, fitting a green hat onto it.
He said in surprise and shock, “You look pretty good wearing a green hat; you could wear one every day from now on.”
Julia Land, “…”
Goddamn good-looking.
With a cool smile, she lifted her noble, pale neck, “Possibly because I’m naturally beautiful.”
Jas Thompson chuckled deeply, “Right, you’re naturally beautiful.”
“…”
“Julia Land, do you want to be with ?” Jas Thompson asked her straight out.
It caught Julia Land off guard.
Serious, the man said, “If you’re with , you’ll be Noah Quarter’s senior.
You can hold your head high, plus, I’m very honest.”
It was indeed an attractive proposition.
Julia Land turned her head to look at him, not overjoyed or naive, “You’re honest?”
Jas Thompson nodded.
Forget it, Julia Land wouldn’t crush Jas Thompson’s own belief that he was honest.
She said, “First, this will be my second marriage; I feel a bit inferior.”
“Second, you’re Noah Quarter’s senior; isn’t it laughable for a senior to be with the sa woman as his junior?”
“Lastly, my heart can’t fall in love with anyone right now.”
After finishing her words, she took off the green hat on her head, toyed with it while showcasing a flirtatious and passionate smile, “From today onwards, Julia Land will seek n only to fulfill her physical needs, and with my annual salary of a million, I can even keep a toyboy when I’m bored!”
Jas Thompson was utterly stunned by Julia Land’s powerful declaration, and his clever mind crashed.
“Seeking n just for physical needs?” he repeated with a smirk.
Julia Land nodded firmly, “Right.”
“Annual salary of a million, keeping a toyboy when bored?” Jas Thompson repeated the following line.
Julia Land pursed her lips shyly and nodded, “Right.”
“Julia Land, you’ve got guts!” Jas Thompson laughed unrestrainedly.
He scooped her up and carried her into the bedroom, his laugh sinister.
“Let give you a taste of what a big bad wolf is like.”
The taste of a big bad wolf was sowhat frightening.
Both fierce and vicious.
Julia Land eventually lost her energy; miraculously, she still rembered to remove her makeup and take a bath.
Jas Thompson, with lipstick sared all over his lips, carried her to wash his face and take a bath.
The next day, when Julia Land woke up, there was only her in the bed.
This relieved her.
She saw a set of won’s long sleeves and a long skirt by the bed, along with inner clothing and pants.
After she dressed up and looked in the mirror, she found marks on her body that were simply unbearable to look at.
Julia Land walked out of the bedroom and saw Jas Thompson apparently in a video conference.
He looked up at her.
Julia Land pointed a finger at the door, indicating that she was leaving.
Unexpectedly, he spoke at that mont, “Rember to transfer the cost of raising that big wolf dog to .”
Julia Land, “…”
The people at the other end of the conference suddenly heard the boss speak and stopped the eting.
They didn’t show any confusion, just waited respectfully.
“Understood.”
They heard the woman’s soft, husky voice.
Jas Thompson then said, “There’s breakfast on the table, eat before you go.”
Julia Land nodded, and Jas Thompson continued with the eting.
While his eting wasn’t over yet, Julia Land quickly ate a few bites of breakfast and hurriedly left.
Her eager departure darkened Jas Thompson’s face.
It gave him a sense of déjà vu, as if after eating, she didn’t want to take responsibility.
At Quarter Group.
Julia Land had not been to work for many days; the accumulated tasks were too much, and she was running around busy all day today.
Noah Quarter’s brows, furrowed for several days, finally smoothed today.
A good secretary can make the boss’s work more effective.
This was why he had Julia Land co back to continue as a secretary.
He still recognized her work capability.
While Julia Land was busy running around.
Alexander Strong ca to Julia Land’s desk with a grave expression, “Secretary Land, book six tickets to Grand City imdiately, there’s been a fire at the factory there.”
“Okay.” Julia Land booked the tickets and was also responsible for returning to Jade Gardens to pack their luggage and ergency dicine.
The fire at the factory this ti was severe, not to ntion the financial losses.
The death toll had already reached nine, with fifteen seriously injured.
Jas Thompson sent a ssage to Julia Land asking if she wanted to have dinner together at the mont she boarded the plane.
Julia Land replied, [I have to go on a business trip, can’t make it.]
For the following days, Jas Thompson didn’t receive any ssages from Julia Land.
He saw her figure on the news channel.
Dressed in a formal shirt and suit trousers, she stood straight beside Noah Quarter.
A reporter pushed a microphone towards Noah Quarter, and Julia Land politely blocked the mics, “Thank you, everyone.
Please, let us through, the interview has ended, thank you.”
Jas Thompson raised an eyebrow and sent a ssage to Julia Land.
[Do you still rember Mr.
Thompson by Great Bright Lake?]
Julia Land was too busy to look at her ssages.
Unaware that Mr.
Thompson by Great Bright Lake was thinking of her.
These past few days, dealing with the families’ troubles and handling the dia had been utterly draining for her.
“Mr.
Quarter, Mrs.
Quarter, my daughter is so young, and now she’s lost her father.
My health is poor, and if sothing happens to , what will she do?”
Finally freeing themselves from the dia and preparing to get into the car, there was a woman standing amidst the crowd, crying out.
The woman’s cries were piercingly tragic; unwell as she was, she fainted after a few shouts.
The crowd erupted in chaos.
Alexander Strong hurriedly called for an ambulance.
Noah Quarter lowered his voice and told Julia Land to get into the car first; he would handle the situation, as it was too chaotic here and accidents could easily happen.
Arabella Shaw watched the intimate scene on the screen of Noah Quarter whispering to Julia Land with red eyes, took a deep breath, and phoned her assistant, “Book a ticket to Grand City for today.”
She was going to Grand City!
