"Is this even possible?"
Looking at the hideous Giant in front of him, moving its bulky legs in the water, swinging four arms, and adapting to a new form, Wayne just thought it was absurd.
He had just witnessed the monsters cutting open their wailing kin, stuffing an unknown pile of colorful internal organs into its abdominal cavity, then slicing its muscles to insert more muscles and bones, finally throwing it into a nutrient pool without even stitching it up.
A Synthetic Beast of biological modification without any stitches, its torn flesh heals on its own vitality; those who survive make it through, those who don’t beco nourishnt in the nutrient pool.
Any Spellcaster who sees such an experintal modification and sees a success would think the world has gone mad.
"Dragon Blood?"
Wayne wasn’t a Spellcaster, so he wasn’t fazed by such irrational results, and instead, he could see the underlying logical consistency beneath the insanity.
"Golden Sun?"
He figured out the reason for the birth of such a Giant, it all stemd from the half-plane Sun; any creature that manages to survive on this land possesses an extrely intense and twisted vitality.
The twisted part is that all creatures here have a terrifying instinct to devour; they seem to believe they are incomplete and instinctively consu and assimilate other creatures to fill their void.
This underwater experint, without the complete conditions of tools, facilities, or environnt for modification, was successful because the modified monster instinctively devoured everything to complete itself.
Of course, beneath this successful case lay a mountain of corpses; countless monsters didn’t survive the hellish surgery and died on the operating table.
This kind of death was rather swift and clean; the real suffering was for those who barely made it through the surgery, only to be thrown into the nutrient pool, full of dragon blood and highly corrosive, comparable to strong acids.
Only the strong who could absorb nutrients from it survived; otherwise, they beca part of the pool’s solution, becoming nutrients.
The lives of the weak were as cheap as grass, only the strong had the right to live on.
However, survival didn’t an the end; instead, it marked the beginning of a new nightmare. Wayne watched as this successful case was put back on the operating table, the Monster Elders still unsatisfied, wanting further modifications.
"A bunch of lunatics!"
Having unknowingly observed for many days, Wayne decided he had seen enough after giving his final assessnt, leaving the watery domain.
Because it was all so hopeless, born into such an environnt, living in such a tribe, Wayne, even putting himself in their shoes, saw no glimr of hope.
From hatching, it’s a great hurdle; the majority of monsters here have their brains harvested, destined to be different biological tools, with only a few exceptional embryos allowed to hatch.
Even then, they had to undergo layers of selection to beco soldiers capable of using Biological Weapons, the most ordinary mbers of the Monster Clan.
There was indeed a path for upward mobility, just stay alive long enough to beco a clan power-holder, but living here was the greatest luxury.
Even those Monster Elder who could dissect and modify their kin at will were sotis eaten like snacks by passing monsters.
Yet, despite the despair and lack of hope, this Monster Race struggled to continue their line, even if it ant unbearable transformation.
"Shahua Fishn!"
Though he didn’t recognize them at first, after so observation, Wayne, even without having been to the sea, confird the origin of this Monster Clan, said to be oceanic demons, the Fishn.
In this half-plane full of Dragon Species and Dragon Vein creatures, all ordinary mbers were forced out like the Kobolds, where ordinary kinds weren’t even allowed to breathe.
Only individuals who had undergone adaptive mutation could be born and feel the hellish survival conditions.
Wayne, who was quite familiar with hellish environnts, thought even Hell itself was friendlier; at least, in so regions of Hell, ordinary species could still breathe.
But not here, because the flora was too dense, the air filled with countless invisible spores, and if one accidentally inhaled them without sufficient immunity, they would soon beco a walking giant mushroom.
"Teacher Wayne, have you finished your tour?"
When Wayne returned to the designated area, crossed the Transmission Array, and left the half-plane, the softer sunlight with a gentler hue bathed him, making him involuntarily relax, take a deep breath, and exhale, a sweet inquiry followed,
"How was it? Wasn’t it amazing?"
"Yes, quite an eye-opener."
Seeing the finely featured, delicate face with faint golden scale patterns of the Great Fairy in front of him, Wayne genuinely appreciated it.
"Right, that’s what everyone says on their first ti entering."
The expression of the Great Fairy was filled with pride, as if she had recomnded a fairyland rather than the half-plane Secret Realm.
"However, I personally think making this half-plane open to seekers as an entrance test may be too harsh?"
Wayne gently shared his opinion; even with his strength, moving freely in the half-plane, he still sensed potentially dangerous aura deep within it.
"Harsh? How could it be?"
The Great Fairy familiarizing Wayne with the procedures tilted her head, clearly not understanding.
"The environnt inside isn’t just dangerous; there are too many fatal factors for students."
Wayne was more direct.
He felt throwing students into such an environnt was like an alternative slaughter.
On his return, he saw a rift in the sky, swarming Goblins thrown in, devoured by the flora and fauna below in no ti, a scene more like feeding than surviving, almost none survived.
"Surviving a day in the Dragon Domain is the last stage of the assessnt, and the elimination rate is the lowest. Most newcors mainly go in there to familiarize themselves with the environnt, gain experience and insights. The Transmission point is fixed, so as long as they don’t wander off, there’s basically no danger."
Seeing confusion in the Great Fairy’s eyes, in her mind, the Dragon Domain was a fantasy paradise with many treasures free for the taking.
"Last stage of the assessnt?"
Wayne was taken aback, suddenly realizing sothing.
"Yes, Dragon Academy’s admissions criteria mainly rely on talent and will testing; if there are no issues with these two, one can basically get enrolled. Going to the Dragon Domain is just to experience it in advance, not much danger."
"Did you forget sothing?"
The young man looked at the Fairy in front of him, particularly the golden scales on her cheeks; he realized that any creature in the Dragon Domain with golden scales held the highest status in their Race, facing fewer unwarranted attacks, possessing a powerful deterrent.
"Oh, sorry, I forgot to give you your teacher credential."
Under Wayne’s gradually fixed gaze, the Great Fairy took out an insignia made from a golden Dragon Scale.
