The Divine Sun Sutra was the cultivation thod used by Nell Gaston of the Infernal Cult. Bruno had already mastered [Luminous Bone] and Bone Rebirth.
And now, by letting [Nidhogg’s Breath] rot his body, he was trying to comprehend the Rot Chaos Form.
"Luminous Bone can speed up the Thunderclap Breathing thod, and Bone Rebirth can boost my physical strength for a short ti."
"As for the Rot Chaos Form, according to the records, it can enhance my healing ability, absorb all poisons, and store and release them."
Bruno gritted his teeth, forcing himself to endure the pain brought by [Nidhogg’s Breath]. The kind of rot that could make a 2-stage Warlock-Warrior wish for death—he endured it completely.
As the pain and burning inside him slowly faded, Bruno frowned.
The Rot Chaos Form still wasn’t fully ford.
He needed more[Nidhogg’s Breath]!
Taking out the Book of All Things, Bruno quickly adjusted the trade content.
Since [Nidhogg’s Breath] didn’t actually endanger him, all he needed now was to trade away Alex Grey’s identity.
...
After obtaining a new identity, Bruno didn’t hesitate for even a mont—he headed straight back to the Gaston Martial Hall.
Standing before Teacher Nell’s door, Bruno gently knocked.
"Co in," Nell Gaston’s voice replied.
When Bruno stepped into the room, Nell asked, "What is it?"
Bruno thought for a mont, then said directly, "Teacher, I t a student from Sunset University. Her na is Elise. Her mother has Rot Disease."
"Today she heard that a patient with Rot Disease in the Tumor Hospital of District Eight sohow recovered."
"But when she and I went to look for that patient, we found..."
Bruno lightly adjusted the details and then told Nell Gaston everything that had happened.
Now that the situation involved cults, the Investigation Bureau, and the Heavenly Gang, it was way beyond what a small 3-stage Warlock-Warrior like him could handle.
"Rot Disease? Divine Gift?"
Nell Gaston’s expression imdiately turned serious.
He clasped his hands behind his back and paced the room.
After a long mont, Nell asked again, "You’re sure you didn’t hear wrong? Soone removed all the Divine Gift from Henry’s body?"
"Listen carefully—all of it."
Bruno nodded. Of course it was all of it—he knew the ability of the Book of All Things very well.
"That’s bad... Sunset City has a Great Elder," Nell murmured.
Bruno felt a little guilty.
There was no Great Elder.
It had only been him using the Book of All Things to trade away Henry’s [Nidhogg’s Breath].
Fortunately, he had the habit of adding the mory of the trade itself into every deal.
If not, things would have beco much more troubleso.
Now it was perfect—
not only did the cult believe a mysterious Great Elder had arrived in Sunset City, but even Teacher Nell thought so.
"Teacher, what exactly is a Divine Gift?" Bruno asked the question that had been on his mind.
Nell gave a simple explanation.
There were two types of Divine Gift.
One ca from evil gods—beings similar to Zeus—who controlled the power of dark gods. When that power descended into this world, it was called a Divine Gift.
A Divine Gift could be a special ability, or a special item.
The other type of Divine Gift ca from the true gods of this world—their blessings and rewards given to their believers.
"As for matters about the gods, you shouldn’t learn too much right now. Otherwise, it will affect your future growth," Nell said earnestly.
To be honest, Bruno really didn’t want to get involved with gods at all.
In this world, even a "true god" like the God-King Zeus had beco sothing everyone hated and treated as an evil god.
So the evil gods that Nell and others saw as "true gods" must be far stronger than Zeus himself.
Right now, all Bruno wanted was more Celestial Beast at, so he could keep using the Book of All Things to grow stronger.
"Sunset City is just a small ordinary city. But now the God-King Cult and the Investigation Bureau have both co here. What could have drawn them in?" Nell muttered to himself.
Hearing that, Bruno imdiately thought of his Book of All Things.
There was no way those people ca for the Book of All Things, right?
He had never revealed even a single detail about it.
But once that thought appeared, Bruno couldn’t help feeling uneasy.
If he ever lost the Book of All Things, he might stay a 3-stage Warlock-Warrior for the rest of his life.
"Be careful for the next few days. Try not to go out. Even if sothing important happens and you must leave the hall, take Tursos or Elena with you."
"I still have things to deal with. I need to leave the martial hall for a while," Nell instructed.
Bruno nodded.
But staying inside the hall all the ti was impossible for him.
He needed a lot of Celestial Beast at, and he had to go out to trade with others.
"If I could build sothing like a trading venue, where others co to trade with each other—and I only take a fee—then everything would be easier."
This idea suddenly ca to Bruno as he left Nell’s room.
But that was only a thought. For soone like him right now, doing sothing like that would expose him far too easily.
After returning to his room, Bruno ate the remaining five portions of the special food supplents in one go, and the cooldown of the Book of All Things shortened to three days.
Elise’s mother could still wait a little longer. Besides, before he understood what was happening with the God-King Cult, trading away the [Nidhogg’s Breath] in her body too soon could bring danger.
As for Elise herself, Bruno preferred to make her work for him.
After all, the old butler Fabian was just a normal person, and many tasks were inconvenient for him to handle.
Right now, Bruno was Elise’s only hope. As long as he used that well, gaining Elise’s loyalty shouldn’t be difficult.
Still, so level of power and intimidation was necessary—only then could loyalty last.
"Maybe... I need a stronger second identity.
Alex, an angel from so mysterious faction... a powerful Great Elder..."
"If my ditation Technique could break through its limit—if I could let the God Realm fully rge into reality, and let my spiritual power reshape the world—then this plan would be easy."
"Bone of the Dead can hide my presence so no one can judge my strength.
And with a Great Elder’s reality-altering God Realm, I could probably fool ninety-nine percent of people."
Bruno sighed. He was hesitating now. Because of the Celestial Beast at issue, he had to think carefully every ti he used the Book of All Things.
His Ten Thousand Hells had only just reached perfection. He didn’t know if one trade would be enough for a breakthrough, and he couldn’t go to the hospital in District Eight anymore.
The Investigation Bureau was already watching that place.
With a head full of thoughts, Bruno lay down on his bed and drifted off to sleep.
Early the next morning, Bruno planned to get so breakfast at the martial hall’s cafeteria, then go to Bar No.19 to see if he could buy so Celestial Beast at.
But before he even entered the cafeteria, he saw several students rushing past, carrying an injured trainee.
Bruno stopped one of the martial hall students and asked what happened.
It turned out that early this morning, two people showed up at the hall’s entrance, wanting to challenge the martial hall.
Tursos and Elena were both gone, so Britney and a few trainees asked the visitors to wait.
But the two were extrely aggressive and irritable.
One of them directly showed his strength—
he was actually a 12-stage Warlock-Warrior.
"They’re here to challenge the hall. Besides that 12-stage Warlock-Warrior, there’s also a 4-stage Warlock-Warrior. He’s extrely vicious. Not only are his attacks ruthless, but he also seems to have so kind of special physique."
"Everyone who was defeated by him fell into a coma. Britney said they’re poisoned," the student said quickly.
Bruno frowned at once.
With such a big commotion, Teacher Nell still hadn’t appeared—he must still be busy with whatever he ntioned yesterday.
But even if Nell were in the hall, he wouldn’t show up easily.
After all, the rumor spread before was that Nell was seriously injured.
Bruno took a deep breath and rushed toward the main hall.
The 1.2-ter-tall Britney stood in front of the other trainees, glaring furiously as she shouted:
"Shaless! Your man used a potion to boost his potential beforehand!"
"Food can be eaten carelessly, but words can’t be spoken carelessly," a tall and muscular man replied with disdain.
Bruno stepped forward, standing in front of Britney. He asked quietly, "What happened?"
Britney gritted her teeth and said, "They’re too shaless. That man may only be a 4-stage, but he has the Poison Claw special physique. He even took a potion that boosts potential!"
Poison Claw?
Bruno thought for a mont.
It should be similar to Black-Eye’s Shadow Eye and Elise’s Unextinguished Heart—a special type of root bone.
If nothing went wrong, these two should be from the Heavenly Gang.
The most famous business of the Gaston Martial Hall was, of course, the martial hall itself.
If today’s incident wasn’t handled properly, the hall’s reputation would suffer a massive blow.
But this also proved that the two cult mbers had indeed pushed the Heavenly Gang into action.
"Where are Tursos and Elena?" Bruno asked.
Britney bit her lip and replied, "I’m not sure."
At that mont, the 12-stage Warlock-Warrior let out a cold laugh and said:
"Oh? So this is the Gaston Martial Hall? What a joke.
You don’t even have a single 4-stage Warlock-Warrior who can fight."
