"Otherwise you will not live long."

Thousand Faces’ clone sneered as he watched Ethan rush toward him, his lips curling twice in mock amusent.

Ethan didn’t slow down.

His figure flickered, appearing right in front of the clone. His fist clenched so tightly the air around it bent inward. When he punched out, the montum howled like a raging tempest.

Thousand Faces’ clone raised his left arm, black spiritual energy coiling around it like a living serpent.

Bang!

A muffled explosion shook the air.

Golden Original Power blossod violently around Ethan’s fist, surging like a star eruption—yet the black spiritual energy parted it down the middle, slicing the golden explosion into two harmless streams.

Before Ethan could retract, the clone grabbed his fist and flung it upward.

Ethan’s body lifted uncontrollably, twisting in midair as he pretended to lose all balance. His expression shifted dramatically, feigning shock and desperation.

"Hmph. At the end of your strength... let finish you with one punch!"

The clone vanished and reappeared above Ethan, fist drawn back. Black spiritual energy surged violently, shaping itself into the phantom head of a ferocious wolf.

The wolf roared and lunged toward Ethan’s abdon.

Ethan’s eyes flashed.

He crossed his arms—then violently opened them.

A cold shout erupted from him.

Golden light burst from his body, stopping him midair.

"Condense!"

He raised his hand and slamd his palm downward, his other hand gripping his wrist. Golden Original Power surged like a flood, condensing instantly into a shimring golden shield.

Clang!

The wolf-head punch slamd into the shield with a tallic boom, like a tal hamr striking an iron cauldron.

"Can you stop it?"

The clone sneered. He poured in more spiritual energy.

A tiny crack appeared on the shield.

Then it rapidly expanded into a spiderweb of fissures.

Snap!

The golden shield shattered.

The black wolf-head tore through the explosion of light and struck Ethan’s chest with devastating force.

Boom!

The explosion ripped open space itself.

A streak of light shot backward—Ethan.

He tumbled through the air, skidding back hundreds of ters before stabilizing. His chest heaved. Blood trickled down the corner of his lips. His robes were torn. His aura seed unstable.

He looked utterly miserable.

"Huh..."

Ethan glanced toward Asher, clenching his fist slightly, acting the part of a desperate, cornered prodigy.

"Why? Are you hoping the Blood Marquis will save you?"

Thousand Faces’ clone mocked. "Don’t dream. I’ve locked him down completely. Today... you die!"

"Haha... killing won’t be that easy!"

Ethan hissed through gritted teeth, eyes burning with rage.

"What now? Planning to fight to the death?"

Then—

"Blood essence—burn!"

Ethan roared.

A drop of his essence blood burst afla inside his body. Golden and red light surged through him, his aura exploding outward uncontrollably.

He shouted on purpose—so Thousand Faces would believe he had forced himself into burning precious blood essence.

His breath shook violently, aura unstable.

Perfect.

"With such aura... no wonder you are ranked first on the Heaven’s Prodigy List." The clone chuckled.

"Your talent is said to appear once every thousand years. Seems the rumors weren’t wrong."

"But how long can you burn your blood essence? Can you withstand my next strike?"

The clone spread his fingers. Sword intent erupted from him like a tidal wave.

A black long sword condensed into his grasp again, its blade overflowing with malicious shadow energy.

"Shadow Moon!"

Thousand Faces’ clone spun in midair, descending like a falling star. His sword swung downward, unleashing a crescent-shaped black sword light as wide as a house.

The sword light tore through the air, ripping open the ground, slicing trees cleanly in half.

Boom!

But at the mont the blade reached Ethan—

A silver sword suddenly appeared in Ethan’s hand.

Remnant Dream.

The immortal-grade spiritual weapon chid violently as it blocked the descending blade.

But even so, the sword intent was sharp enough to cut flesh by presence alone. Blood-red marks slashed across Ethan’s cheeks and arms as if carved by invisible blades.

"Hmph. So you have an immortal weapon. Not bad."

The clone pressed harder.

Ethan felt the crushing force as Remnant Dream sank down several inches.

Blood poured from his shoulders.

"Get out of my way!"

Ethan roared, long hair whipping behind him. His sword intent exploded outward like a raging beast.

"Supre Profound Sky Sword Technique—Full Moon!"

A full moon of sword light burst upward from Ethan’s blade, forcing the clone to retreat.

Ethan wobbled, staggering back several steps.

His face was pale. His arms trembled. Blood soaked his shoulder and chest.

He looked as if he were monts away from collapsing.

Perfect acting.

Inside, Ethan’s thoughts sharpened.

Now... should his real body co out?

At the bottom of the lake in the next valley—

Thousand Faces watched everything through his clone’s vision. His lips stretched into a triumphant grin.

"This kid can still hold on... but he has nothing left. It’s ti."

He shed the stone disguise, revealing his true form.

A short, middle-aged man with a greasy moustache, graying temples, and a triangular face that didn’t quite fit human proportions. His gray eyes glimred with greed and venom.

"Ethan has artifacts... and knows the secret of the incomplete stone tablet. This is a heaven-sent opportunity."

"As long as I get his storage ring... I’ll cultivate in peace. Once I break through and my spiritual energy transforms into divine power, unless a Great Emperor descends... who can touch ?"

"By then, Blood Tavern owner... your death will be mine to enjoy."

Hatred flickered across his features.

Years of living in the shadows had twisted him. He would never forgive being hunted.

Cowardly Mask’s voice echoed within his mind.

"Are we going now?"

"Hmm? Not cautious enough?"

"I feel an ominous premonition... use the Heaven and Earth Reversal technique from the stone tablet. It’s one of the Thirty-Six Supre Celestial Fiend thods."

Thousand Faces frowned.

Then nodded slowly.

"...Fine. Let prepare my body first."

He reached into his storage ring—

And pulled out the corpse of a Interdiate Supre powerhouse he had killed.
