"When I catch him, I’m going to feed the cowardice in him!"
Onyx Orchid’s eyes glowed faintly green. His tongue slid across his lips, expression greedy and twisted with anticipation—like he could already taste the delicious fear Thousand Faces would emit.
Ethan rubbed his forehead.
"Okay, fine. Eat whatever you want. Just tell —where exactly is he?"
"The bottom of the lake in the valley. He turned himself into a stone."
Ethan’s eyes narrowed. His ntal energy imdiately shot toward the next mountain range.
Sure enough, tucked between two jagged ridges lay a small valley lake. The surface was dark, almost ink-black, and the water below it seed bottomless.
Ethan’s ntal energy plunged downward.
Twenty ters beneath the surface, lying perfectly still at the bottom—
A flat stone.
"Hidden so far away," Ethan sneered.
"Truly cowardly. Hiding like a mouse."
He did not alert the enemy. He simply withdrew his ntal energy, calm and cold.
Even if the thod was cowardly, being cautious was still a survival instinct.
Thousand Faces had survived centuries by doing exactly this.
Ethan sent a ssage to Asher.
"Senior, I found him. Thousand Faces’ true body."
"Excellent!" Asher replied, though his tone turned serious.
"But if we’re not careful, we’ll scare him off. Any ideas?"
Asher’s battle experiences were usually direct—hit first, hit harder, think later.
But this situation involved one of the most elusive supre in the entire continent. A reckless move would ruin everything.
Ethan smiled faintly.
"Since he likes to play tricks, we’ll use his tricks against him."
He continued, "He’s hiding in darkness, watching us. He wants his fake bodies to drain our strength. Once we’re exhausted, he’ll co out to harvest."
"So we give him what he wants—we pretend to be exhausted. Act like we’ve reached our limits. Then force him to reveal himself."
Asher laughed.
"Good idea. But Thousand Faces is cautious to the extre. Can we really fool him?"
"Senior and I have fought continuously. Our current condition isn’t truly peak. We only need to fight long enough and then display fatigue."
Ethan added coldly.
"And especially . He’s been watching from the start. It’s reasonable for to appear exhausted. That’s exactly what he expects."
"And Thousand Faces’ goal is . If he sees a gap here, he will definitely strike."
Asher nodded, excitent rising.
"I understand. Let’s begin."
He glared at the fake Thousand Faces.
"Thousand Faces! Let show you my pri!"
"Kekeke," Thousand Faces chuckled, voice dripping with mockery.
"Asher, after battling the ancient Riverborn family and fighting nonstop, you dare claim you’re still at your peak? Pretending to be a tiger now?"
Ethan chid in with a cold snort.
"Do we look exhausted to you?"
"Today, I’ll show you what my true peak strength looks like."
Thousand Faces burst into laughter.
"Hahahaha! Do you think I’m a three-year-old child? After so many battles and activating your artifact, you’re at best twenty-three percent of your peak strength! Even that would impress !"
He grinned wildly.
"But it’s impossible. My clone alone is enough to kill you!"
Ethan’s lips curled upward ever so slightly.
Good.
The fish had bitten the hook.
"It’s unfortunate for you to have t today," Thousand Faces said.
"I’ll give you one last chance—hand over the artifact and the incomplete stone tablet, and I’ll spare your pitiful lives."
"Otherwise... you will die without a burial place."
His expression twisted with killing intent, the aura around him exploding outward.
"Senior Asher, this guy talks too much," Ethan muttered.
"Agreed."
Asher didn’t respond further.
He attacked.
Sword intent erupted from him, flooding the air with tides of sharp force. His blood sword manifested in his hands, and sword energy surged into the sky, forming a crimson world of blades.
That blood-red world descended toward Thousand Faces’ main fake body.
With that, the battle between two powerful Supre Realm experts truly began.
Ethan focused on the clone before him.
Its aura had increased slightly—just enough to look convincing.
But its actual combat power barely reached the threshold of a late-stage Interdiate Supre.
And compared to a true powerhouse at that level, it was still lacking.
It lacked a source of power, and its spiritual energy was draining rapidly.
But Thousand Faces believed the clone was more than enough to kill Ethan.
After all—Ethan was only at the seventh turn of Nirvana.
Even if Ethan had monstrous strength, he had fought too many battles in a short ti. Thousand Faces assud Ethan was barely a twentieth of his peak.
The clone sneered, revealing a sinister smile.
"Ethan, there’s no point pretending calm. I’ve been watching you since the mont you appeared. I know exactly how much strength you have left. Accept your fate!"
He vanished into a streak of black shadow.
Ethan inhaled deeply—loudly, exaggeratedly—and allowed his breathing to beco chaotic.
A perfect illusion of overexertion.
"Co."
His eyes sharpened. His posture sank. Every movent deliberately showed strain.
The mont the black shadow reached him— Ethan exploded into motion!
Boom!!
The ground beneath his feet shattered violently.
Ethan punched forward, eting the clone head-on.
The clone’s arm warped into a massive black palm, intercepting the strike.
The impact sent shockwaves rolling across the field.
Thousand Faces’ clone staggered, clearly surprised.
The strength of Ethan’s physical body was outrageous.
BANG!
Ethan unleashed a sudden burst of force.
The clone was sent flying backward.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Its body struck the ground multiple tis before sliding to a halt.
"Hmph," the clone said coldly, though a flicker of unease crossed its face.
"Your strength is good. Your Original Power is good."
"But your Original Power is fading. Your strength is nearly gone, isn’t it?"
As he spoke, he noticed Ethan breathing heavily, shoulders shaking slightly.
It was all acting.
But Thousand Faces didn’t doubt it for a second.
Ethan sneered inwardly.
Every breath, every stagger, every tremor—I prepared deliberately.
And Thousand Faces took the bait beautifully.
Soon, the coward would think it was his perfect mont to strike.
"Hmph, enough nonsense," Ethan barked.
"If you want a fight, let’s fight!"
The clone laughed loudly.
"Haha! Your body is in this condition, yet you still take the initiative to attack?"
"This suits your personality... but young people should not be too crazy."
