"That's it?"

Su Yan looked at the Ghost General with disdain.

Then, with a casual flip of his right hand, he snapped the blade that was chopping at him with a CRACK.

"This... This is impossible!"

Watching the scene unfold before it, the Ghost General imdiately shouted, its very existence as a ghost thrown into doubt. Its forty-ter-long Demon Knife, forged from Ten-thousand-year Mysterious Iron, had slain countless creatures. An overwhelming Karma Force clung to it. Those who touched it would, at the very least, suffer from madness, plagued by nightmares night after night. At worst, their HP would surge violently, resulting in an on-the-spot explosion.

However, this Demon Knife was so formidable that even Mythical creatures dared not clash with it directly! Yet just now, this young man from the Human race had snapped it in half like a toothpick, with a re CRACK!

This was utterly preposterous!

The more the Ghost General thought about it, the more terrified it beca. Its eyes, as black as black holes, filled with fear, and it dared not et Su Yan's gaze.

Unfortunately, running away was not only shaful but also futile.

Suddenly, a Creature Pressure descended from the heavens, slamming the Ghost General to the ground with a BOOM, pinning it so that it couldn't move.

Afterwards, Su Yan walked up to the Ghost General, stopped in front of it, and, smiling innocently, said, "Now cos the part where I ask and you answer."

"If your answers satisfy , you might still have a chance to survive. But if your answers disappoint ..."

At this point, Su Yan rely gave a slightly nacing smile and didn't continue. He knew that the unknown was what truly instilled fear, even for Yin entities that had already died once.

Soon, Su Yan began the question-and-answer session. He looked at the Ghost General with a deep gaze, his voice indifferent. "First question, what is your purpose in occupying Luo City?"

The Ghost General was a Yin entity without any cunning. The mont Su Yan finished speaking, it imdiately replied with a cowardly look, "To vie for the position of an NPC."

"NPC?"

Su Yan was montarily stunned, thinking he had misheard.

This ghostly thing actually knows about letters, like an alphabet!

More importantly, does the term "NPC" it just uttered refer to the non-player characters from the gas of my previous life?

But how could a re Yin entity grasp the concept of an NPC?

What exactly is going on?

For a mont, countless thoughts flashed through Su Yan's mind, leaving him sowhat bewildered by the current situation.

Ultimately unable to puzzle it out, he could only press the Ghost General further, "What is the position of an NPC?"

"I am not too clear about that myself." The Ghost General first shook its head with difficulty, then continued, "But that lord once said that being an NPC is a realm beyond the Mythical level. Once you beco an NPC, you may achieve true immortality, everlasting life, and unlimited resurrections."

After hearing the Ghost General's explanation, Su Yan was almost certain that the "NPC" it ntioned referred to the non-player characters from the gas of his previous life. After all, immortality, everlasting life, and unlimited resurrections were indeed the characteristics of NPCs. As long as ga designers didn't alter NPCs, they could exist forever in the ga world, attaining so-called immortality.

It seems the essence of this world is, after all, just a ga—a ga called "The Playful Mountains and Rivers Classics."

However, who exactly was this 'lord' the Ghost General ntioned?

Why would he know about the concept of an NPC?

Could it be that... he, like , is a transmigrator from my holand? Or perhaps he's one of the ga developers?

With these thoughts, Su Yan questioned the Ghost General once more, "Who exactly is this lord you ntioned?"

"He is..."

The Ghost General had just begun to answer when—BUZZ! A loud hum suddenly erupted all around Su Yan. Imdiately afterward, countless thick vines attacked him from all directions, binding him tightly and rendering him immobile.

Simultaneously, the surrounding temperature plumted, dropping so low that the air visibly began to condense into ice. In just a few short seconds, Su Yan, unable to move, was frozen into an ice sculpture.

Then, the ground suddenly shook violently! A huge Fish Bone monster burst forth from the earth, its massive, blood-red maw gaping wide as it arced upwards and swallowed Su Yan in a single gulp.
