Five hundred miles away, inside a half-collapsed building, a fat young man sat cross-legged on the ground.

In front of him stood a withered tree that had sohow grown through the cracked stone floor of the ruins.

At the base of the tree rested a small black box made from so unknown material.

Floating quietly just above the box was a blue crystal.

The Primordial Star Core Fragnt.

The fat young man looked to be in his early twenties.

His body was round and slightly chubby, his stomach pressing slightly against his loose robe. His cheeks were plump, giving him an almost harmless appearance. But his small eyes were sharp and constantly shifting, revealing a hint of shrewdness and caution.

A few faint scars could be seen on his arms, proof that despite his seemingly lazy appearance, he had already experienced several battles in this new world. At his waist hung a storage pouch, while a short, heavy blade rested loosely in his hand.

Clearly, this seemingly ordinary fat young man was not soone to be underestimated.

Sitting cross-legged beneath the tree, he stared at the Primordial Star Core Fragnt with burning eyes.

Greed and excitent flickered within his gaze.

Although he had no idea what was hidden inside the black box, he recognized the blue crystal instantly.

It was the Primordial Star Core Fragnt—a treasure that countless players in the Primordial God Ruins were now desperately searching for.

The fat young man was sitting cross-legged there, guarding the black box and the Primordial Star Core Fragnt!

That’s right, he was guarding the black box and the Primordial Star Core Fragnt!

The fat young man sat cross-legged beneath the tree, guarding the black box and the Primordial Star Core Fragnt.

That’s right—he was guarding them.

After discovering the crystal, he had imdiately tried to take it.

However, no matter what he did, the fragnt refused to move.

He tried every thod he could think of, using all sorts of tricks and techniques, yet the crystal remained floating calmly above the black box as if rooted in place.

In the end, after exhausting every possible thod and still failing to obtain it, he reluctantly gave up.

His attention then shifted to the black box below. Since he couldn’t take the fragnt, perhaps the treasure inside the box was the real reward.

But just as he reached out and tried to open the box, a powerful surge of energy suddenly erupted from it, and he was blasted backward, crashing heavily onto the ground several ters away.

Before he could even curse, a system notification suddenly appeared in front of his eyes.

[System Notification]: The treasure box can only be obtained after binding with the Primordial Star Core Fragnt.

Seeing the ssage, the fat young man’s face imdiately turned dark.

Just as he was feeling helpless and about to give up, a voice suddenly appeared in his mind.

The voice inford him that he had already bound with one Primordial Star Core Fragnt, and therefore he could not bind with a second fragnt.

If he wanted to obtain the fragnt before him, there was only one way.

He would have to wait for soone else to bind with it first and then take it from them.

When the fat young man heard this, the corners of his lips slowly curled upward.

He imdiately tried to contact his other teammate but soon discovered that his profile in the chat channel had turned gray—aning that he had already died.

Seeing this, the fat young man couldn’t help but frown slightly.

Afterward, he went out to search for other players. However, the mont those players saw him approaching, they imdiately fled in the opposite direction.

The fat young man was not stupid. He quickly realized that these people were intentionally avoiding him.

Left with no other choice, he simply returned and decided to guard the Primordial Star Core Fragnt and the black box.

Since he couldn’t find anyone anyway, he might as well wait here and see if soone would take the bait.

After all, his coordinates were here, and the Primordial Star Core Fragnt was also here. Once the last fragnt was taken, anyone who possessed a fragnt and wanted to obtain his would eventually have to co to him.

So he patiently waited beneath the tree while keeping a close eye on the system map.

Suddenly—

One of the coordinate signals on the map was rapidly approaching his location.

Seeing this, the fat young man’s small eyes instantly lit up with joy.

Four hundred miles... three hundred and fifty miles... three hundred miles...

As the distance rapidly closed, the fat young man’s eyes shone brighter and brighter, and the joy on his face beca impossible to hide.

Two hundred and fifty miles...

Two hundred miles...

The signal on the system map was moving extrely fast.

Clearly, the person approaching was flying.

The fat young man’s expression grew more serious, but the excitent in his eyes did not fade. Instead, it burned even hotter.

Soone capable of flying was definitely not weak.

But that was exactly what he wanted.

If the other party was weak, there would be no point. Only soone strong would dare co after a Primordial Star Core Fragnt.

One hundred miles...

Fifty miles...

The fat young man slowly stood up from his cross-legged position beneath the tree.

He stretched his slightly round body lazily, then tightened his grip on the short, heavy blade in his hand.

His previously relaxed expression slowly disappeared, replaced by a calm and cautious look.

Thirty miles...

Twenty miles...

Now he could even feel a faint pressure approaching from the sky.

The fat young man narrowed his eyes and looked upward through the broken roof of the half-collapsed building.

Ten miles.

Five miles.

Suddenly—

A streak of light shot across the sky like a falling star.

A figure with six wings behind him slowly descended from the clouds.

With a faint sound of wind cutting through the air, the figure ca to a stop midair above the ruins.

It was Zayen.

Six golden wings were spread wide behind his back, slowly flapping as he floated calmly in the sky.

From above, Zayen looked down at the scene below.

His gaze quickly landed on the fat young man... and the Primordial Star Core Fragnt floating quietly beneath the withered tree.

When the fat young man saw Zayen floating in midair with six golden wings spread behind him, his eyes widened in shock. He stood there, completely stunned for a mont before quickly regaining his senses.

A trace of vigilance flashed across his small eyes.

However, instead of panicking, the fat young man suddenly smiled.

"Brother, you arrived just in ti," he said with a friendly tone, raising his hands slightly as if showing he had no hostile intentions.

Zayen remained floating in the air, his expression calm and indifferent.

His gaze swept across the black box beneath the withered tree before finally settling on the Primordial Star Core Fragnt.

The fat young man followed his gaze and chuckled.

"You’re here for this fragnt, right?"

He pointed at the blue crystal floating quietly above the black box.

"Since fate brought you here, how about we cooperate?"

Zayen’s eyes narrowed slightly, but he did not speak. He already knew that the fat young man possessed a Primordial Star Core Fragnt, which was why he could not take this one.

Seeing that Zayen remained silent, the fat young man continued with a grin.

"To be honest, I discovered this fragnt a while ago, but for so strange reason, I can’t take it."

He shrugged helplessly.

"No matter what thod I try, it just won’t move. Maybe you’ll have better luck."

As he spoke, his eyes carefully observed Zayen’s reaction.

In his heart, the fat young man sneered.

Go on... take it. Once you bind with the fragnt... it will be mine.

Zayen listened quietly to the fat young man’s explanation, his expression remaining calm from beginning to end.

After a mont, he suddenly chuckled softly. "You want to take it?"

Hearing this, the fat young man’s heart skipped a beat, but he quickly forced a smile. "Of course. Since I can’t take it anyway, letting soone else try isn’t a loss for ."

Zayen slowly shook his head. His gaze fell on the fat young man, as if he could see straight through him. "You’ve already bound with another Primordial Star Core Fragnt."

The fat young man’s pupils suddenly shrank. Before he could react, Zayen continued calmly, "Which ans you can’t bind with a second one. If you want to take this crystal, then you have to find soone who has not bound with any fragnt yet to take it first.

The fat young man’s eyes flickered rapidly as he stared at Zayen, shock flashing across his face.

How did he know?

The voices had only told him this information monts ago. There was no way anyone else should know.

Yet the man before him had stated it so casually, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.

Or could it be that the voice had also told him this information?

For a mont, the fat young man felt a chill run down his spine.

But he quickly forced himself to calm down.

A crafty smile slowly returned to his round face.

"Haha... Brother, you’re really sharp; it looks like you figured it out," he said, scratching the back of his head as if embarrassed.

Zayen looked at the fat young man and shook his head slightly. "I can’t take it either," he said indifferently. "I’ve already bound with a Primordial Star Core Fragnt."

"Since that’s the case, leave behind all the resources on your body... and then scram."

The fat young man looked up at Zayen and revealed a wide, harmless-looking smile, his plump face making him appear almost friendly—yet the cold glint in his eyes betrayed his true intentions.

Zayen’s expressions changed slightly upon hearing this.

Then he let out a soft chuckle. The laugh was quiet, yet it carried an unmistakable hint of ridicule. "You want my resources? You should first ask yourself whether you’re qualified."

The mont the words left his mouth, Zayen’s eyes instantly turned ice-cold.

The fat young man’s smile slowly disappeared. His small eyes narrowed as a dangerous light flashed within them.

"Heh..."

He suddenly let out a cold laugh.

"Looks like you really don’t know how to appreciate kindness." The friendly expression on his plump face vanished completely, replaced by naked hostility. His grip on the heavy blade tightened, veins faintly bulging along his arm.

"Fine, since you’re so confident..." The fat young man suddenly stepped forward.

BOOM!

The ground beneath his feet shattered instantly as his body shot forward like a cannonball.

The heavy blade in his hand tore through the air, carrying a fierce gust of wind as it slashed straight toward Zayen’s chest.
