Chapter 62: Chapter 62: eting the Fire Elf, The Sole Requirent

At 9:00 AM, the entire Wood Elf Corps returned.

Under the leadership of the Dwarf Leader, Copperbeard Ironhamr,

ten Dwarves and over a hundred Wood Elves and Natural Elves set out for the Fire Elves’ territory!

After a long trek of over two hours,

they finally arrived at their destination a little after 11:00 AM.

Once a Wood Elf Scout from the Wood Elf Corps confird they were in the right place,

two Natural Elves stepped forward from the Elf Mage Corps.

They both cast a First Level Spell—the Amplification Technique.

The effect of the Amplification Technique was to magnify sound, ensuring their voices could carry across the entire area.

Then, Elf High Priest Shamiel stepped forward and, using the common tongue of the Elf Clan, announced their purpose to the Fire Elves within the forest.

If they could peacefully bring these Fire Elves into the fold, that would certainly be the best option.

But if the other party refused to see reason and chose the hard way over the easy way,

the Wood Elves would show them that truth is found at the edge of a blade.

About ten minutes later, a group of Fire Elves erged from the forest.

The Fire Elf in the lead exuded a scorching aura, held a Magic Staff, and was dressed in ornate clothing.

She was clearly the leader of these Fire Elves.

However, upon closer inspection, an undeniable weariness could be seen beneath her powerful aura.

It seed the information the Dwarves had provided was correct.

This group of Fire Elves had indeed been ambushed by Jackal-wolfn and Kobolds so ti ago.

The elegantly dressed Fire Elf Leader, Joy Pala, showed her wariness toward these "relatives" who had co from so far away.

It was clear from her expression that she was not pleased to see this group of Wood Elves at this particular ti.

"Who are you? And where are you from?"

eting for the first ti, the Fire Elf Leader, Joy Pala, did not invite the group of Wood Elves inside.

On the contrary,

as Joy Pala erged, two columns of Fire Elf Warriors marched out behind her.

The Fire Elf Warriors stood tall behind her.

They held Long Spears, carried Bows and Arrows on their backs, wore Vine Armor, and stared straight ahead. Their presence seed no less imposing than that of the Wood Elf Corps.

Elf Legion Commander Feiyana stepped forward.

"We are Wood Elves from another continent. We have co to help you under an Oracle from the great Elf God!"

Elf Legion Commander Feiyana repeated the exact sa speech she had given to the Dwarf Clan.

Of course, such words were unlikely to convince the Fire Elf Clan Leader, Joy Pala, who had lived for several hundred years.

"If that’s the case, then give us what you’ve brought to help, and you can be on your way!"

Unlike the Dwarf Clan they had t before, this group of Fire Elves clearly had a much higher quality of life.

They didn’t seem particularly envious of the Baobab Fruit and at soup the Wood Elves displayed.

Seeing this, Elf Legion Commander Feiyana’s mind began to race.

She took in the Fire Elves’ situation and instantly knew what to say next.

"I heard that you Fire Elves were attacked by Kobolds and Jackal-wolfn a few days ago, is that right?"

Faced with Feiyana’s question, the Fire Elf Leader, Joy Pala, beca extrely guarded.

She didn’t answer the Wood Elf’s question directly, saying instead:

"You are not welco here, nor do we need your help. If you’ve only co to ask a bunch of questions, you can leave now!"

But even a roundabout refusal to answer was an answer in itself.

Having gotten the answer she wanted, a trace of delight blood in Feiyana’s heart. She was confident she could control the situation now.

"The reason I ask is because I wanted to tell you that on our way here yesterday, we discovered tracks left by Kobold Scouts."

"Not far from here!"

"If you were indeed attacked by Kobolds and Jackal-wolfn a few days ago, then you had best prepare yourselves!"

"Prevent them from coming to attack you again in the next few days!"

As soon as she finished speaking, Elf Legion Commander Feiyana paid no mind to the expressions on the Fire Elves’ faces.

With a grand wave of her hand, she motioned for the Wood Elf Corps behind her to follow, preparing to lead the Wood Elves and the few Dwarves away.

Seeing Feiyana’s actions, Dwarf Leader Copperbeard Ironhamr was quite puzzled, but he didn’t show it openly.

Dwarf Leader Copperbeard Ironhamr turned and began to leave with the Wood Elf Corps.

He was just thinking silently to himself:

’Did we really find traces of Kobold Scouts here yesterday?’

’Weren’t the Wood Elves with us all day yesterday?’

’Could it be that the Wood Elves sent out other Scouts that I didn’t see?’

As Dwarf Leader Copperbeard Ironhamr mulled this over, his confusion reached its peak.

Just as he was pondering these questions, a voice suddenly called out from behind him:

"Wait!"

Hearing this, Feiyana, who had been walking away, imdiately stopped.

Dwarf Leader Copperbeard Ironhamr, standing at her side, subconsciously glanced at Feiyana.

In that glance, he could have sworn he saw a faint smile on her face.

But it vanished in an instant.

Dwarf Leader Copperbeard Ironhamr thought he must have imagined it.

When Elf Legion Commander Feiyana turned around, her expression had, in the blink of an eye, returned to the sa one she wore when they first t.

"What is it?"

"Does the leader of the Fire Elf Clan have business with us?"

Before, Fire Elf Leader Joy Pala’s imposing presence had been a match for Elf Legion Commander Feiyana’s.

This ti, however, when she spoke, her aura had clearly weakened.

Elf Legion Commander Feiyana’s eyes t Joy Pala’s, and the Fire Elf Leader’s eyes stared back at Feiyana.

The two locked gazes.

But in the end, it was the anxious Fire Elf Leader, Joy Pala, who spoke first.

"All you Wood Elves, follow ."

"Once you see it, you will understand!"

Leaving them with this cryptic remark, the Fire Elf Leader, Joy Pala, turned and entered the forest.

In response to the Fire Elf’s invitation, Feiyana waved a hand, and the Wood Elf Corps followed.

With mbers of the Fire Elf Clan leading the way, Feiyana wasn’t the least bit flustered. In fact, she even had the presence of mind to observe their surroundings.

The Fire Elves walked these forest paths often, so the trail was not narrow.

Deeper in the forest, Elf Legion Commander Feiyana and Elf High Priest Shamiel,

both looked up at the sa ti, gazing into the distance!

There stood a colossal tree!

A massive tree, nearly ten ters thick and fifty to sixty ters tall, stood there majestically!

Elf Legion Commander Feiyana’s gaze was imdiately drawn to this tree.

The tree was entirely red, as if it were burning with flas.

Both its leaves and its trunk were the sa color!

But Elf High Priest Shamiel was drawn to the tree because she could sense a strong presence of Fire Magic Power and the aura of fading Life emanating from it!
