Genetic compatibility of one percent!

This sentence exploded like a thunderclap in everyone’s ears, causing their heads to roar.

They all experienced a mont of stupefaction, wondering if they had heard wrong, or if the other party had misspoken?

They had been working so hard precisely to find genes with a compatibility over five ten-thousandths.

But even according to their best case scenario, they could only hope to find genes with compatibility reaching six ten-thousandths, or even seven ten-thousandths at most.

But what had they just heard now?

One percent? That’s one hundred ten-thousandths!

This genetic compatibility had increased by a full 20 tis.

The data was too excessive, to the point where they couldn’t believe it.

Swish!

Once Xu Zheng’an ca to his senses, he snatched the report and quickly scanned through it.

There was no mistake on their part and he had not misheard, the genetic compatibility had indeed reached a terrifying one percent.

But he wasn’t excited; instead, he took a deep breath and said in a calm and collected manner, "Everyone, don’t get too excited too soon, imdiately comnce repetitive experints."

He picked up the report, glanced at the na on it, and said, "Go get another blood sample from Chen Dalong."

With that, he picked up the rest of the reports and randomly selected another one.

"Then repeat the experint with the blood sample from this report."

"We must not only rule out any error on our part, but also the... possibility of machine malfunction," Xu Zheng’an said in a low voice.

Indeed, machine malfunction!

What he feared most was this situation occurring, as it would an all their efforts had been in vain.

And his suspicion was not without reason; before the last report ca out, there had been four reports of genetic compatibility reaching five ten-thousandths, which was already illogical.

That was why he harbored such doubts.

Hearing Xu Zheng’an’s words, everybody felt as though cold water had been poured over their heads, quickly regaining their composure.

The laboratory plunged into busyness once again.

But the atmosphere was completely different from before.

Previously drowsy, everyone was now as if injected with adrenaline, excited; but their eyes betrayed an inevitable worry amidst the excitent, a stark contradiction.

However, the gene compatibility test was sothing everyone had been repeating for the past few days.

So regardless of whether their emotions were high or low, their movents were ticulously precise.

This ti, they were even more ticulous.

Normally, to avoid technical errors, everyone would check each other’s work after completion.

But now, this review was elevated to three tis, with the final check done personally by Professor Xu Zheng’an, to ensure total reliability.

Guo Hai didn’t leave either; he stood silently in a corner, watching everything with nervous anticipation.

Nothing else could be more important right now than what was happening here.

However, this situation didn’t last long, as Old Man Zhu’s assistant, Xu Yifei, soon ca looking for them.

Normally, each set of experintal results would be delivered imdiately to Old Man Zhu.

But now, the third research group had been delayed by 15 minutes without sending the report, so he naturally had to co and see what was happening.

He walked into the laboratory, saw everyone busy at work, and was about to randomly ask soone, when Guo Hai in the corner preemptively pulled him aside.

"Don’t disturb them; they are conducting repetitive experints." Guo Hai lowered his voice to a whisper, as if afraid that speaking any louder would affect the experint.

Xu Yifei, being an assistant to Old Man Zhu, was naturally competent. Hearing the words "repetitive experints," he imdiately deduced a great deal and also whispered, "Did you say repetitive experints? Could there be a new discovery?"

"Yes! Among the blood samples just now, one showed a gene compatibility of one percent," Guo Hai said, staring at Xu Yifei.

Even though Xu Yifei, from the tense atmosphere here, had ntally prepared quite extensively and even raised his expectations a lot,

upon hearing the figure of one percent, he felt his heartbeat skip a beat.

Once he collected himself, he almost wanted to say it was impossible reflexively.

But seeing the atmosphere around him, and rembering that these people were conducting repetitive experints, Xu Yifei couldn’t help but give a wry smile, "I feel like I shouldn’t have co; my heart can’t take it!"

"Heh, I feel the sa way, every minute and every second feels agonizing," Guo Hai said, beginning to laugh. Now that he had company, it didn’t seem so bad.

But Xu Yifei turned around to leave.

"Hey, where are you going?" Guo Hai quickly asked.

"Isn’t it obvious? Of course, I’m going to inform Old Man Zhu," Xu Yifei replied irritably.

"You could wait until after the results of the repeated experints to tell him! Old Man Zhu is getting on in years; I’m concerned about his reaction to such dramatic ups and downs," Guo Hai urged.

Xu Yifei rolled his eyes irritably, "Old Man Zhu may be old, but he’s not senile. If I don’t go back, do you think he won’t guess sothing is up?"

"Besides, Old Man Zhu has seen his share of big storms, much more than us; this shouldn’t be anything to him."
