Steven walked over to Ethan. He didn’t notice that Emma, on her way to get so dessert, had brushed past him.

"Is the steak good?"

His ghostly voice rang in Ethan’s ear, startling him so much that he almost choked on his food.

He turned around to see Steven with a dark expression on his face, smiling sheepishly.

"Big Brother? What brings you here?"

As he spoke, he glanced in Emma’s direction with a guilty look.

With his sharp eyes, Steven naturally noticed his glance and also looked toward Emma.

He happened to catch sight of her, who had taken so dessert and was hurrying out.

He was montarily stunned.

‘Why does that figure look so familiar? Especially that hat, it looks so much like Alex’s!’

Could it be that Ethan had snuck Alex out to play?

That should not have been the case. If Alex had not been in school, the principal would have inford him right away.

Puzzled, he opened the surveillance footage on his phone. He saw Alex there, sitting properly in the classroom while reading.

He probably saw it wrong.

"What’s this? Surprised to see ?"

Ethan hurriedly shook his head in denial.

"No, no..."

Steven didn’t want to waste words with him, taking out a video. The video showed Ethan getting soundly defeated in chess, angrily shouting at the screen.

Since a spectator secretly fild it, Emma appeared smaller in the fra as she was hidden by passersby closer to the cara. Thus, Steven could only see Ethan’s face.

"I was wondering how you managed to give Alex the wrong school uniform. Turns out it was because you’ve spent all your energy on this. I don’t mind you playing around, but as a mber of the Lawrence family, losing to a child is quite embarrassing."

Knowing he was in the wrong, Ethan continuously nodded.

Steven didn’t want to say more; Ethan was his only brother, and since their parents passed away, he had been the one raising him.

Ethan didn’t like studying. Although he was strict with him, he tried his best to support his hobbies as long as he could lead a stable life.

But sotis, Steven really could not understand which part of their parents did Ethan inherit after watching his carefree, underachieving behavior.

Ethan was still nodding vigorously when he suddenly received a ssage.

It was a voice ssage from Emma.

He initially thought of listening to it later, but seeing that Steven showed no sign of leaving, he had no choice but to click on the voice-to-text feature first.

However, his hand slipped. Then, Emma’s sweet, adorable voice played out loud.

"Defeated opponent, Mommy is looking for . I have to go now. I heard from Brother that Daddy has been watching you lately. Don’t let him find out your secret! Bye-bye!"

Ethan was so anxious that he nearly shoved the phone into his mouth, but it was too late; Steven had heard everything.

Steven frowned. Why did this voice sound so familiar?

"Who is this? Who’s watching you? And what secret do you have?"

His barrage of questions made Ethan’s heart race, his palms sweating against the phone.

‘Damn brain, think fast!’

Ethan gulped a large swig of water.

"She’s just a little girl who plays chess with . What she said about watching is just nonsense. And I don’t have any secrets..."

The more he explained, the guiltier he felt. Lying to Steven was akin to courting death.

However, circumstances forced him to do so.

Steven stared at Ethan.

"You’re lying. Whenever you lie, you unconsciously touch your nose."

Steven’s tone was threatening.

"How dare you lie to ?"

Ethan sat like he was on pins and needles, just about ready to confess everything, when Steven suddenly turned serious.

"Is this a voice changer? So actually dares to threaten you?!"

"Uh, yes."

Ethan felt relieved while wearing a frightened expression.

"They are a friend to a friend’s friend, but it’s all sorted now; I sent soone to handle it."

"She dares to threaten the Lawrence family. Who is she exactly? Give her details."
