When everyone had settled down, Eros sighted his opportunity and with a forged lie he was able to distance himself from the group. Although he wasn’t fully recovered from the previous day’s breakthrough, he definitely had enough strength to try a few things out.
The first of which was the blood dragon technique. Sothing told him that now that he had a perfect body, he was going to have an easier ti acquiring the dragon aura.
Along the way, he t a few srabbits, eager to try out his newfound strength; they beca his first victims.
There were a total of five of them, rushing at him without an iota of intelligence in their gleaming crimson eyes. Eros watched them screech at him, revealing their saber-like teeth—the origin of their na.
He didn’t even bother to touch his sword. When the first one got close enough, his legs whipped through the air in a powerful kick. The unintelligent Srabbit didn’t have ti to comprehend how this human’s leg could move so fast before the impact hit.
Like a missile, the poor Srabbit moved through the air with an impossible speed. When it finally hit a tree, the force of the collision caused it to burst, forming a puddle of flesh and blood where a once living Srabbit had been.
Eros wasn’t surprised. After all, it was just a common beast. Right now, only demons would prove worthy opponents.
Although that claim didn’t apply to absurdly powerful creatures like the tiger of the previous day. That was an anomaly.
The next few Srabbits were stomped to death imdiately as they got close enough. He didn’t use too much force, though, so as not to cause a ss with their blood.
The entire process of extermination didn’t last more than a minute, and as quickly as they had co, had they also died.
Eros continued moving through the forest, navigating his way through shrubs and overgrown roots.
At last, he found a place that he deed suitable, in the midst of overcrowded trees and with a canopy of stacked leaves overhead. He took a breath of the forest air, and the sweet sll of nature diffused through his nostrils.
His goal was the Dragon Blood technique and after lighting a monster warding talisman, he took out the manual and began practising
It was the sa process as before where he would try to temper his blood. He read the manual again and again. He wanted to fully understand the technique.
Over ti his eyes seed to open to the intricacies of the technique.
He lingered on a page depicting a cauldron filled with boiling blood and with a blue fla underneath. The more he stared the more he felt the image was very similar to what he should be practising
But there was sothing missing, there was sothing the cauldron had that he didn’t. Eros frowned as he tried to figure out what could be missing in his practice.
He had followed all the rules and done everything right, yet he still felt sothing was missing. Like his technique was flawed.
An hour passed and he had spent the entire ti looking at the image. He could feel it at his fingertips, but couldn’t reach it.
"The cauldron, the fla, the blood..." he muttered as if in a daze.
Then suddenly, his eyes widened as it all finally made sense. The truth of the technique hit him. His body was the cauldron and his nexus the fla.
He had previously been trying to temper his blood alone, and that had been his sole mistake right from the beginning. After all the fla in the image didn’t just temper the blood, it also tempered the cauldron. He had only focused on his blood prior to this, but it was clear now that that was just a part of it. The body too, was another part. A part that he should not forsake.
His eyes widened in surprise as he nearly jumped in joy. Without wasting an extra second he entered a ditative stance and began tempering, both his flesh and blood.
Without his knowing, ti moved fast as twilight descended on the Glygen Forest.
Finally, he opened his eyes and his eyes glead with pale crimson. Then suddenly, an overbearing aura emanated from his body. The insects surrounding him began to flee and even the birds hovering about circumvented the area he was in.
Eros chuckled, and that chuckle slowly turned into a mighty laugh. He had accomplished it in so little ti. If Astoria were here she wouldn’t believe her eyes, after all, not one of her younger disciples had managed to accomplish it, yet Eros did it in a few days.
Even though his perfect body played a huge role in his success, if he hadn’t received that enlightennt, he still wouldn’t have been able to break through the preliminary stage.
But he reminded himself that this was just the beginning. As he looked around, he could see the crimson aura around him—a sign that Eros was now in the first stage of the Dragon Blood technique. Over ti as he progressed further, the colour of the aura would also change, with each stage having a different colour.
After celebrating his achievent, he noticed the day slowly growing darker. It was clearly ti to go back before everyone began worrying about him.
With his crystal clear mory, he was able to navigate back to the camp safely.
As expected, the holy knights were gathered in the middle of the area, chatting with one another. They glanced at him, but didn’t pay much attention. They had already gotten used to him leaving for long periods of ti. Lain was nowhere to be found. Garreth waved, Sein scoffed and Rachel tried not to look at him, but her eye would inadvertently glance over.
"Are you alright Rachel," the other female holy knight, whose na was Lilac called out when she noticed Rachel’s face turn red.
"It’s nothing," she replied, adjusting her glasses and glancing away from Eros. "Probably just the alcohol from earlier."
"I can’t believe you’re getting all rosy after sothing as little as that," Lilac said with a hearty laugh.
Rachel just chuckled, but her mind kept flashing to what had happened the previous night. And her heart began to race.
Eros didn’t have any urge to try and socialise with these guys and seeing that they had most likely eaten without him he decided to procure so food for himself.
He headed back into the forest—at least now they had seen him they wouldn’t wonder if he was in so sort of danger. After a few minutes of searching, he found a horned pig which was a common demon.
It didn’t take much to put it down. And soon enough the animal was roasting over a fire. He rubbed so herbs over it for flavour before letting it shimr over the fla.
While waiting, he found a few leaves and herbs similar to the ones the old man had recomnded to him.
After contemplating, he plucked them and kept them in his pocket. It wasn’t as if he was planning to use them, he was confident in his own ability after all. They were just for research purposes.
On closer inspection, the herbs seed to contain a lot of yang. This made him want to research them even more.
The food was soon ready and without wasting a second, he dived in.
After many minutes, the al finally disappeared. Eros was surprised to find that he had eaten an entire boar in so little ti. He wondered if that was an effect of his perfect body or perhaps the dragon blood technique. He couldn’t co to a conclusion and put it at the back of his mind.
He began moving back to base, but sothing caught his attention on the way. At this point twilight had already given way to the overbearing darkness of the night, blemished with so moonlight
He noticed a red fla far from where he stood, the fla was directly in front of the pale mountain glowing as a waterfall of moonlight rolled down its slopes.
When he drew closer, he was able to make out Lain’s figure. She seed to be contemplating sothing before heading into the mountain through a cave-like entrance.
Eros has no idea what she was up to, but out of curiosity, he decided to follow her.
