Past Life:
Yu Min sat quietly while his wife, Wang Hua, kept throwing things at him. She was angry, so angry her hands were shaking. Yu Min tried to calm her down.
"It’s not our fault," he said in a steady voice. "I couldn’t do anything else except give that cursed girl to the master."
When she heard this, Wang Hua’s face turned red with rage. She glared at him and shouted,
"You’re not even human! Even a lion doesn’t eat its own cubs. How could you give our daughter to a stranger? You don’t even know what he wants with her!"
Yu Min looked at her with tired, helpless eyes.
"Yu Holea is a cursed star," he said slowly. "If we let her stay with us, who knows what terrible things might happen to our family?"
Wang Hua ignored him. She didn’t want to hear another word. Yu Min didn’t try to explain anymore.
He knew she wasn’t in the mood to understand anything.
Two years passed. One day, Wang Hua found out she was pregnant. She was so happy she cried.
She promised herself that no matter what people said about this baby, she would ignore them. Months later, she gave birth to a son.
They nad him Yu Jin.
Yu Min and Wang Hua loved their son with all their hearts. Slowly, they forgot about Yu Holea. They put all their love and attention into raising Yu Jin.
Five years later, the master who had taken Yu Holea ca back and asked them to visit her. Yu Min looked at his wife. "Do you want to see her?" he asked.
Wang Hua frowned and said nothing. She had noticed sothing strange... when Yu Holea was with them, she had never gotten pregnant.
But after Yu Holea left, she had a son. The thought made her superstitious. Still, she agreed to visit Yu Holea.
They visited her, but when they ca ho, they found Yu Jin injured. They were scared and quickly tended to his wounds. They forgot about Yu Holea again.
The next ti they visited her, they ca ho to find Yu Jin almost dead. That was enough for them. They decided never to visit Yu Holea again, believing their son would be in danger if they went near her.
Years passed. On one of Yu Jin’s birthdays, Wang Hua heard a noise outside the west window.
She looked out and froze...Yu Holea was there, sneaking toward the house. For a mont, Wang Hua felt scared.
Then she made a decision she would later regret deeply.
She ignored Yu Holea and kept pampering Yu Jin in front of the window, as if to show Yu Holea she was no longer welco.
Maybe Yu Holea understood, because after that day, neither she nor the master ca back.
Ti flew by. Yu Jin grew into a bright young man. At twenty, he was doing well in school and had a bright future.
But at twenty-one, he got into a terrible car accident and nearly died.
At the hospital, an old man wandered into his room. He looked at Yu Jin, shook his head, and said, "This boy is destined to die."
Yu Min and Wang Hua were furious. They scolded the old man for saying such cruel things. But he just smiled and said,
"The power protecting him is fading. When it’s gone, he will die."
Confused, they asked what he ant.
The old man said, "This boy was being protected by a retribution angel. That angel is either dead or dying. Without her, he has no chance."
Yu Min and Wang Hua stared at him, shocked. The old man continued, "You had a daughter before this boy, didn’t you?"
They denied it, but he ignored them.
"That daughter protected him all his life. He should have died when he was two, but the danger turned into only an injury.
He should have died at five, but again, she saved him. Over and over, every deadly threat was pushed away by her. Now she’s gone, and so will he."
The couple’s eyes widened. Suddenly, they understood... Yu Holea had never been a curse.
She had been their son’s protector all along. Every ti they visited her, she kept their son safe.
Regret hit them hard. They wanted to see her imdiately, but before they could, Yu Jin died.
The pain was unbearable. After the funeral, they finally rembered Yu Holea and rushed to the temple where she lived.
They called her na, but found her lying on the floor, pale and lifeless, with a peaceful smile on her face.
They cried and apologized, but it was too late. Yu Holea was gone.
The old man who had told them the truth had been her master all along. Yet they never realized it until they had lost both their children.
And so, Yu Min’s wife carried the deepest regret of all... because she knew exactly why Yu Holea had stopped coming back.
....................
The biggest regret of Mrs. Yu’s life was loving the wrong person. That mistake had cost her too much. Still, she told herself that she had her own children, and that was enough to make life bearable.
In the end, she accepted her fate. She thought, I have my sons, and I have my daughter. They are filial. They care for . That is good enough.
With that thought, she spent her later years in peace. When she reached the age of seventy-eight, she passed away quietly in her sleep.
When she opened her eyes again, she was shocked. She was not in the afterlife. She was back in her old bedroom, staring at the familiar ceiling she had not seen in decades.
She quickly sat up, and her hands trembled.
She rushed to the mirror. What she saw made her heart pound... she was young again. Her skin was smooth, her hair was shiny, and the face in the mirror was the sa one she had when she was eighteen.
mories from her past life flooded back. She rembered the mistakes she had made, the pain she had endured, and most of all, her children.
At that mont, she learned that she had gone back in ti to the year when she had received a marriage proposal from the Yu family of City S.
In her last life, she had accepted that proposal, but this ti, her mind was full of thoughts. She didn’t want to erase her son from her past life. At the sa ti, she wanted to change her fate and avoid the pain she had suffered.
After thinking for a long ti, she made her choice.
This ti she rejected the Yu family’s and she told her parents that she wanted to propose to the Ou family herself.
Her father was stunned. "The Ou family might refuse," he warned.
Han Yulin, that was her na in this life, shook her head firmly. "We should still try. There should be a chance."
Her father sighed, but he respected her determination. To his surprise, the Yu family agreed.
And so, Han Yulin married the man she truly loved.
At first, she was nervous. She worried that by changing her past, her children from the last life would never be born.
But when she gave birth to her first son in this new life, she froze.
The boy’s eyes, smile, and even the shape of his nose... it was all exactly like her first son from her previous life.
Tears welled up in her eyes. She realized sothing amazing. In this life, all my children might still be the sa as before.
Her heart felt lighter than it had in years. She promised herself that this ti, she would protect them better.
She was determined to make things right. She caught the witch who had hard her family in the last life and made sure no one could ever replace Ou Xiaoxiao’s soul.
This ti, there would be no more regrets.
By changing her path, Han Yulin shaped a brighter future. Surrounded by her husband and children, she lived a good and beautiful life.
And in her heart, she knew... she had finally rewritten her story.
..................
The only thing Qiao Jun ever regretted in his life was having a second daughter. It wasn’t that he didn’t love her...he did...but after she was born, strange things started happening.
From the mont she learned how to crawl, the girl seed to be under so sort of spell.
No matter where Yu Holea went, the little one would follow.
If Yu Holea were in the kitchen, she would be there. If Yu Holea were in the garden, she would be there too, clutching her sleeve and refusing to let go.
When she turned three, Qiao Jun thought it would change.
He told himself, She’ll grow up soon. She’ll find her own friends. But no...if anything, she stuck even closer to Yu Holea.
She acted like there was invisible glue between them.
By the ti she turned ten, nothing had changed. She still clung to Yu Holea like her life depended on it.
