"Ah? Just that simple? Just take a look?"

To be honest, this request indeed caught Magic Cube Dragon by surprise.

The other party was clearly aware that I have the Eye of Truth and Falsehood! There’s no way they would play tricks with at this critical mont.

Moreover, it was clear on my side that Wu Liang wasn’t telling any lies.

He really just wanted a quick look.

"Of course, if you don’t agree, I’ll just turn around and leave..."

"I agree!"

Before Wu Liang could finish speaking, Magic Cube Dragon hurriedly interrupted.

Getting a powerful ally under such simple terms, why not?

Hearing Magic Cube Dragon’s agreent, Wu Liang grinned and continued, "Since you agree, I’ll handle the one hiding outside. You, old man, take a rest, and don’t suddenly drop dead."

With that, he turned into a bizarre mist and disappeared from the spot.

Only then did Magic Cube Dragon notice the presence of a nearly undetectable aura slowly infiltrating from outside the severely damaged East City Gate, thanks to Maze Ghost.

If it weren’t for Wu Liang’s casual remark and my deliberate probing in that direction, the infiltrator might have successfully snuck into Dragon City.

"Heh, this guy’s skills are not ordinary." Magic Cube Dragon chuckled at his own naïveté and disappeared from the spot.

Since Wu Liang stated he’d handle the external threat, there’s no need for to intervene.

The most urgent task now is to return to the residence and adjust my state.

After all, the War of Chaos isn’t sothing that would end in a day or two.

The next month will surely keep busy....

Once the mist embodied by Wu Liang slipped out of the city, it silently landed on the shoulder of a figure slowly approaching, sticking close to the ruins of the city wall.

Strangely, the figure appeared to be a radiant, dignified, and beautiful maiden with bright eyes. A curious owl perched on her shoulder, occasionally tilting its head to observe the surroundings, while a dark green python followed behind her, slithering gently. The overall harmony was unsettling.

Normally, her presence should attract attention no matter where she appeared. She stood as naturally conspicuous as a diamond shining center stage.

Yet, surprisingly, no Fierce Ghost other than Wu Liang noticed the maiden’s approach.

She lifted her exquisite embroidered skirt to avoid the filth on the ground as she crossed the wall’s ruins, ready to enter Dragon City.

That’s when Wu Liang made his move.

A rusty kitchen knife slashed rcilessly down from the maiden’s forehead, seemingly to cleave her in half.

Clang—

In a split second, a strong sense of battle spirit and bewildernt flashed in the maiden’s eyes as she raised her hand, summoning a shield engraved with a bizarre statue from nowhere, firmly blocking Kitchen Knife Ghost’s strike.

This left her unable to conceal her presence.

The Red-clothed Fierce Ghosts trying to repair the broken city walls got scared and fled toward the city’s center to hide.

"Interesting. Maze Ghost never ntioned anyone in the city could see through my stealth," the maiden said, intrigued.

Her voice was lodious, like a nightingale singing.

But Wu Liang’s kitchen knife was relentless, imdiately stabbing toward her abdon, intending to pierce her through.

Unfortunately, the spear in her other hand deflected this attack.

The maiden realized Wu Liang’s extraordinary close-combat skills and hurriedly retreated a few ters to avoid close-quarter combat.

"A helm on your head, a skirt over snake armor, an eagle on your shoulder, a serpent by your feet, a spear in your right hand, and a shield in your left. Even if you hide, I think I can guess who you are," Wu Liang said, squinting and playfully observing her.

The maiden didn’t mind being identified; instead, she proudly raised her spear toward Wu Liang, puffing her chest as she declared, "I hold dominion over wisdom, warfare, and the arts! Pallas Athena, daughter of Zeus among the Five Great Venerables! Why would I hide?"

Though Wu Liang had just exposed her stealth sche, she still wouldn’t acknowledge that deplorable behavior.

It seed Wu Liang figured out who was behind the threat to Dragon City.

Clearly, it was from this proud goddess’s father, the Venerable who governs the sky—Zeus!

"Well, well, well, I didn’t expect this world to have so many Pseudo-Gods. I feel both comforted and a bit familiar! I wonder if you know a guy nad Triton," Wu Liang mused.

He’s encountered many self-proclaid gods in the real world.

Athena before him was just another mber of the Pseudo-Gods.

Since there were no real gods in the reality he knew, there couldn’t be any in this world rampant with Fierce Ghosts either.

"If you have no ties to Dragon City, then leave now, and I’ll let bygones be bygones. But if you insist on interfering, don’t bla my spear for being rciless!" Athena said, swinging her spear and killing a Red-clothed Fierce Ghost trying to escape.

Her highhanded tone sowhat irked Wu Liang.

He couldn’t help but want to trample her, slicing her fair neck with a sharp blade to shatter the ultimate hypocrisy of divinity onto the ground, making her face reality.

He’s done such things many tis before.

This ti would be no exception.

"The War Goddess... but it seems like you’re not great at fighting?" Wu Liang teased.

The next second, before Athena could react, she suddenly felt her surroundings lting like a mirage, with the dark sun dissipating, revealing a brightness she’d never seen before.

An instant later, she found herself in an unfamiliar place filled with hidden dangers—the sun shone brightly overhead, and the bustling crowds around paid no heed to any Fierce Ghost’s aura. The city beneath the busy traffic was full of objects she’d never seen before, with roaring steel monsters traversing the streets, making her uneasy.

"Sister, would you like to buy a bouquet?"

Suddenly, a child’s innocent voice ca from behind.

Athena warily turned her head to find a small child holding flowers to sell to her, their pure, untainted eyes inducing strong unease.

Before she could refuse, the child forcibly handed the bouquet over.

In the instant she instinctively accepted it, a sharp pain radiated from her abdon.

In disbelief, Athena lowered her head to see that the once-beautiful bouquet had turned into a rusty kitchen knife, with a torrent of blood bursting from her abdon as if adorned with red roses.

Her previous act seed laughably like a deliberate ritualized suicide with a kitchen knife.

Wu Liang erged from the crowd of pedestrians, helplessly saying, "Is that all for the War Goddess? You didn’t even realize when you got pulled into a dream, yet you dream of doing sothing to Dragon City?"

When Wu Liang turned into mist and attached to her shoulder, the Power of Nightmare had already enwrapped her.

When Athena took out her shield and spear to battle the erratic close-combat strikes from Kitchen Knife Ghost, Nightmare seized the mont to influence her mind and spirit.

From the outside, it rely appeared that Athena was dazedly acting, and then Wu Liang casually walked over and stabbed the knife into her abdon.

"But one thing to comnd... you didn’t dare to co in your true form, huh." Wu Liang shrugged after withdrawing the knife.

The intruder seed to be rely a clone or the like.

Likely her goal was just to probe Magic Cube Dragon’s condition.

She didn’t expect to be intercepted by in advance.

Watching Athena’s body turn to dust and vanish, Wu Liang realized the War of Chaos wouldn’t be easy to defend against.

It’s only the first day, and who knows how many Pseudo-Gods will strike Dragon City in Zeus’s na afterward.

This is going to be a challenging long-term battle!
