Ganyu's expression flickered with a hint of confusion.
If it were truly urgent, shouldn't the nature of the issue and the identity of the visitor have been made clear first?
"Did they say what it was about?"
"Well..."
Huinan, the ssenger, hesitated, her face showing signs of embarrassnt.
"Ganyu, they only said it was extrely important—sothing about a life-or-death situation—and begged to inform you as quickly as possible.
"They seed so frantic that I didn't have ti to ask more."
"Life-or-death...?"
The words lingered in Ganyu's mind.
Why does this sound suspiciously like sothing a certain soone would say...
"Where are they now?"
"They're just outside Yujing Terrace. You'll see them as soon as you step out."
"Understood."
Nodding lightly, Ganyu tidied up the docunts on her desk.
"Huinan, these files are ready. Follow the instructions outlined and bring them to the appropriate departnts. If there's any issue, co find imdiately."
"Yes, Ganyu. Are you heading out to see this person?"
"Yes."
With that, Ganyu stood and made her way toward the door, an inexplicable sense of urgency bubbling inside her.
I need to see who this person is... now.
The mont she stepped outside, her eyes fell on a familiar figure standing at the edge of the terrace. The man had his back to her, gazing out at the harbor.
"Luo Qing..."
Even from the back, Ganyu recognized him instantly.
The man she had missed deeply since her return from Suru—it was really him!
Heart racing, Ganyu hurried toward Luo Qing, her urgency drawing curious glances from passing colleagues at the Ministry of Civil Affairs.
Did sothing major happen in Liyue? Why does Lady Ganyu look so flustered?
As she drew closer, Ganyu instinctively straightened her attire, smoothing out her creased skirt and brushing her hair into place.
She approached cautiously from behind.
"Luo—"
Just as she was about to call his na, an ill-tid voice interrupted her.
"Lady Ganyu, so here you are!"
Startled, Ganyu turned to see Baixiao—one of Ningguang's secretaries—dashing over, stepping directly between her and Luo Qing.
"Lady Ningguang has requested your presence at the Jade Chamber. She has urgent matters to discuss."
"Huh?"
Ganyu blinked, caught off guard.
Hearing Baixiao's voice, Luo Qing turned around, his gaze landing on the two won.
"Luo Qing..."
Ganyu's cheeks flushed pink as her voice softened.
"Long ti no see, Ganyu. Did you miss ?" Luo Qing smiled warmly, spreading his arms.
"You..."
Baixiao's eyes narrowed as she faced him. Though unfamiliar with the man's face, she imdiately grew wary.
"Lady Ganyu, be careful. This man is a Fatui Harbinger. If he's here to see you, it must be with ill intent. Don't trust anything he says!"
"Ah..."
Ganyu felt her cheeks burn hotter as a wave of awkwardness hit her.
How on earth am I supposed to explain that this so-called Fatui Harbinger is actually my... crush?
"Baixiao, calm down," Ganyu said softly, placing a reassuring hand on her colleague's shoulder.
She cast a quick glance at Luo Qing, trying to temper her emotions. Her usual composure returned as she addressed Baixiao.
"Did Lady Ningguang ntion what this matter entails?"
"Huh?" Baixiao blinked, montarily confused.
As one of Ningguang's closest aides, Baixiao was an expert at reading people's intentions. Ganyu's tone was clear:
If it's not urgent, don't interrupt my reunion with this Harbinger.
Wait, what? Lady Ganyu knows him?!
Baixiao's thoughts raced, but she quickly masked her shock. "It's a matter of utmost importance—critical to Liyue's survival!"
She feigned urgency, putting on her best act. Ningguang had ordered her to ensure Ganyu left with her. There was no room for failure.
Besides, the reasons could be sorted out later; Ningguang could handle any follow-up explanations.
"Critical to Liyue's survival?!"
Ganyu was thoroughly baffled.
Liyue had been thriving recently—what could possibly threaten its very existence?
"Lady Ningguang is extrely concerned and has been waiting for you. Please co to the Jade Chamber imdiately!" Baixiao insisted.
"Ah... I see..."
Ganyu hesitated, turning toward Luo Qing with an apologetic expression. Her eyes seed to seek his permission.
I just reunited with Luo Qing after so long. I'd been hoping to spend so quiet ti with him tonight... but now work calls again.
"It's alright."
Luo Qing's smile was warm and understanding as he spoke.
Walking past Baixiao, he gave her a knowing look that sent a chill down her spine.
This little secretary is lying.
Still, Luo Qing decided not to make things difficult for Ganyu. This was Liyue, after all.
"Work is important. We can et later, no rush."
As he spoke, he reached out to gently pat Ganyu's head. She didn't resist—in fact, her expression softened, and she even seed to enjoy the affectionate gesture.
Baixiao, anwhile, stood frozen in place, utterly stunned.
Am I seeing things? Ganyu actually let him pat her head?!
She's always been so reserved, avoiding physical contact with anyone, especially n. But now she looks like... like a ek little lamb!
"Mm..." Ganyu nodded obediently.
"In that case, Luo Qing, I'll co find you later."
With that, she rummaged through her belongings, eventually pulling out a small key. Handing it to Luo Qing, she added shyly, "This is the key to my house. If it gets too late... you can wait for there."
Her ho was simple and unadorned. With Yaoyao temporarily away, there was nothing in her house that she wouldn't want Luo Qing to see.
Not even herself.
"Got it." Luo Qing's smile was as indulgent as ever.
Taking the key, he glanced at Baixiao, whose face now resembled a carved wooden statue. Gently ruffling Ganyu's hair one last ti, he said, "Alright, go handle your work. If it's a matter of Liyue's survival, you can't waste ti."
"Mm..."
"Let's go, Baixiao," Ganyu said softly.
"Huh? Oh! Yes, of course, Lady Ganyu."
Still dazed, Baixiao led Ganyu toward the entrance to the Jade Chamber.
What was the point of Lady Ningguang's order?
Baixiao's thoughts swirled as she replayed the interaction.
If the goal was to stop Lady Ganyu from eting him, it's already too late. They're practically inseparable...
And now he has the key to her house?!
She shuddered as her imagination ran wild, envisioning what might happen later that night.
No, no. That's far too inappropriate to think about!
