"Looking for soone to run errands?"

"Who should I find?"

Zhao Yi thought for a while and still felt that sending an errand boy was the most practical option, getting soone to accept the award on his behalf was also what the International Maths Union would prefer. After all, it was better to have soone than to leave the Fields dal award ceremony empty-handed. If they only played the award video, the effect would be much worse.

He imdiately thought of his most idle roommate, Li Renzhe.

Li Renzhe had surprisingly made the cut for postgraduate entrance exams, and it was said that he had scored quite well. When he saw Zhao Yi, he even boasted a bit, saying that staying at the sa university shouldn’t be a problem and that he might even get a decent supervisor.

Basically, he went on and on, and it didn’t seem like a bad idea to give him sothing to do.

"No way!"

"Li Renzhe’s image is a big problem. If that guy gets on stage, wouldn’t he just stand there, clueless about where to put his hands?"

Zhao Yi quickly dismissed the idea, still thinking that Fan Lei was a more reliable choice.

Fan Lei had signed a work contract with the Biodical Research Institute and would beco an official employee upon graduation. Research institutions were not like governnt agencies but could be considered ’half a governnt job.’ The work was relatively stable, and the developnt prospects were pretty good. He had the title of a junior clerk and was temporarily responsible for procurent and follow-up work for the institute’s projects.

This was also why Fan Lei was so busy at work.

In the past, Biodical Research Institute’s projects communicated with cooperating hospitals, institutes, and enterprises, which were managed independently by each laboratory. Director Yan Xuelin intended to refine the rules and regulations to alleviate the researchers’ workload in the labs, allowing them to fully commit to research and developnt. Therefore, he decided to set up a logistics departnt, and Fan Lei beca the first official employee who wasn’t a researcher. Not yet part of the administrative system, he was like a one-man departnt, entailing a lot of work. He was involved in everything from equipnt procurent, communication with cooperating institutions, to even project follow-up tasks; it seed everything could be directly brought to him.

Additionally, there was the dical Science Center.

The construction of the dical Science Center had been ongoing for over a year and was nearly at scale. The major structure was completed, and they were about to start installing large equipnt embedded in the walls.

Director Yan had entrusted this troubleso task to Fan Lei; of course, he wasn’t responsible for the actual installation but for supervising, handing over, and other tasks, just like overseeing a house renovation. He needed to monitor the progress and convey the institute’s requirents.

Even before Fan Lei had officially graduated, he already had a lot on his plate. He always complained about "earning a salary of five thousand but doing the work of fifty thousand."

Zhao Yi sympathized with Fan Lei, but he had to admit Fan Lei’s job had great potential for developnt. Since one person couldn’t handle everything, once the institute decided to officially establish the logistics departnt, Fan Lei could at least land a decent position.

Of course.

Sympathy was one thing, but the errand running still needed to be done.

"Old Fan, I’ve co to see you!" Zhao Yi said with a friendly tone, patting the hardworking Fan Lei.

Fan Lei, who was moving equipnt, imdiately shouted, "Co help out!"

"Sure!"

Zhao Yi followed and lifted.

After they had transported the equipnt to the first-floor warehouse, the two of them finally had a chance to catch their breath.

"You’re here, what’s up?" Fan Lei asked directly.

"Can’t I co without a reason? My lab is just upstairs." Zhao Yi retorted with a quip.

Fan Lei rolled his eyes and said, "No one visits the temple without a cause. After all this ti, don’t I know you?"

With a smile, Zhao Yi said, "You’re right, I’ve co to lighten your load."

"Lighten my load?"

Fan Lei looked puzzled.

"Seeing how busy you are at work, I’ve decided to offer you a personal chance for a free trip abroad," Zhao Yi said earnestly. "It’s at the end of July, beginning of August, for a week. All expenses will be covered publicly, don’t worry, I’ll talk to Director Yan about giving you ti off."

"Really? That great?"

With eyes filled with surprise, Fan Lei said, "I’ve always wanted to go to Hawaii..."

"India!"

"Hawaii..."

"India! You’ve always wanted to go to India! Hyderabad, India!" Zhao Yi emphasized his point.

"..."

After being cut off twice, Fan Lei could no longer hold back and shouted forcefully, "Just tell what you want directly, don’t beat around the bush!"

"Haha."

Zhao Yi said, "I’ve won the Fields dal this year, but I really can’t make it, so you go to Hyderabad, India on my behalf to collect the award. Just go with Professor Zhou Li. All expenses will be publicly covered, stay in a five-star hotel, and I’ll personally give you five bucks for running this errand."

Fan Lei finally understood, quickly grasping the key point, "The Mathematicians Congress? I go collect the Fields dal for you? Will I be going on the stage to accept the award then?"

"Yeah."

"Will there be a live TV broadcast?"

"There should be, right?"

"Will I need to give a speech when collecting the award?"

"Maybe? Not sure, but if you have to give a speech, I’ll write you one in advance."

"What should I wear?"

"Whatever."

"OK!"

Fan Lei readily agreed, then imdiately started looking for the phone, as if there was an urgent matter.

Curious, Zhao Yi asked, "What are you searching for?"

Fan Lei said, "Looking for a phone! I know a manager in the advertising departnt of Hongxing Erke. I’ll say I’ll be wearing a whole set of Hongxing Erke clothes and shoes with a television broadcast at the world’s top math stage; there should be at least a few thousand in advertisent fees, right?"

"My K!"

Zhao Yi was stunned, giving a big thumbs up and emphatically saying, "You... you’re a damn genius!"
