Shuimu University, Mathematics Science Center.

Qiu Chengwen walked into the office, his briefcase slung over his shoulder. He appeared sowhat tired. He had recently returned from a trip to Los Angeles where he participated in a seminar at the University of California, Los Angeles.

The Mathematics Science Center was still in its early stages of establishnt. To promote good discoveries, Qiu Chengwen had returned keen to catch up on accumulated work soon after his return to the capital.

He needed to review several job applications, reply to so ssages he had received, and handle so other miscellaneous tasks, such as invitations to academic conferences and lectures. Personal review and decision were necessary before proceeding to these tasks.

Upon opening his personal email, Qiu Chengwen found a peculiar email from the "Mathematical Physics Journal" with two marked files attached, inviting him to participate in the peer review process.

"Inviting to review? Did a teacher or student from Shuimu University submit a manuscript?" Qiu Chengwen clicked to check the email and imdiately noticed that the article was signed by Zhao Yi.

"Zhao Yi’s paper? On Supersymtry research?"

"Interesting..."

Qiu Chengwen imdiately downloaded the file and started scanning the docunt. The introduction was about using the mathematical frawork of particle boundary theory to analyze Supersymtry. The further he read, the more intense his spirit beca.

The approach of the study was quite unique; probably only Zhao Yi would do it, as the particle boundary theory was his brainchild.

Qiu Chengwen had previously studied particle boundary theory, deeply understanding its mathematical frawork. His academic level was extrely high.

He was a recognized top mathematician, whose excellence in mathematics was well known to most people. However, he also had deep research in physics with substantial achievents.

Thirty years ago, Qiu Chengwen conducted research on the Calabi Conjecture, proving that most of the ten-dinsional spaceti required by the "Theory of Everything" is curled and disappeared beyond what is now called the "Calabi-Yau space".

Subsequently, Qiu Chengwen proved another important result of Einstein’s General Theory of Relativity: all solutions to the Einstein equations must have positive energy.

Qiu Chengwen also continued his research on Einstein’s "positive mass conjecture". He even discussed this matter with Stephen Hawking, winning Hawking’s high admiration. The "positive mass conjecture" is directly related to Hawking’s black hole research, a common topic for both in physics research.

Given Qiu Chengwen’s prowess in mathematics and physics, it was highly fitting for him to review a particle mathematics theoretical physics paper. But as he went deeper into the unfolding content of the paper, he suddenly encountered so difficulties. Many of the mathematical analyses inside, especially those about pri number energy, were sowhat difficult to comprehend.

While he was indeed an outstanding mathematician, he found the integration of analytical number theory, hyperbolic surface complex geotry, particle mathematics, and the foundation of particle boundary theory...

Too abstruse!

Qiu Chengwen gradually moved forward, taking comfort in the good news that as long as he thought carefully and analyzed diligently, there was nothing he completely couldn’t understand. But comprehending it all was extrely slow. For several lines discussing energy distribution, he spent over half an hour and even conducted so function calculations before he fully understood them.

"As expected of theoretical physics."

Qiu Chengwen spoke with a touch of irony before chuckling bitterly, "This is just too complex."

"I’ve grown old!"

...

Yang Zhenning was genuinely getting old.

Yang Zhenning received the sa email as Qiu Chengwen at nearly the sa ti. However, while Qiu Chengwen had discovered it himself, Yang’s wife, Weng Hong, had inford him.

Weng Hong was over fifty years younger than Yang Zhenning. After their marriage, her roles were not only his wife but also his personal and work-life assistant, including managing his email.

When she found an email from a magazine publisher attached with a paper, and saw that Zhao Yi signed it, she imdiately inford Yang Zhenning.

Yang Zhenning was reading the news. Hearing from Weng Hong about the email inviting him to review Zhao Yi’s paper, he imdiately took interest and walked over, "Zhao Yi’s theoretical physics paper?"

"The ’Mathematical Physics Journal’ sent it, inviting to review it? It must’ve been Zhao Yi who recomnded ."

He said, nostalgically recalling his past encounter with Zhao Yi at Jiangzhou University, "Oh, Zhao Yi is truly a genius. While his peers are still in college, he has already beco highly recognized. I rember last ti, in Jiangzhou, he said he was studying particle mathematics and seed interested in the parity violation problem. I gave him many lectures then. I didn’t expect he’d have results so soon."

Weng Hong listened, nodding in agreent. She had also visited Jiangzhou University last ti and t Zhao Yi. She smiled and said, "Then you have a look. I’ll go make so tea."

"Sure."

Yang Zhenning smiled tenderly at Weng Hong, then sat down at the table to start reading diligently. His reaction was very similar to Qiu Chengwen’s; both began their reading with interest, but later found themselves slightly frowning as they found the content inside rather abstruse and difficult to comprehend.

His advanced age really set him apart from Qiu Chengwen.

After reading about a page of content, Yang Zhenning, trembling, got up from his seat, walked to the balcony, looked outside the window then sat down on the rattan chair to rest.
