"Impossible!"

The last sentence was said by Zhao Yi.

When others believed they had obtained the "perfect result" and were heatedly discussing it, Zhao Yi’s brow furrowed tightly. He believed that the effect of superconducting antigravity experints would diminish, but not to zero.

Several more experints followed, each ti with different compressed superconducting materials replacing the ones before. Whether it was increasing the power of the electrical current or switching out the detectors and adjusting the equipnt, they still could not detect the characteristics of antigravity.

The mood in the laboratory beca one of excited discussion, "We can now confirm that in our experints, the mass-energy equation is invalid."

"If the mass-energy equation is invalid, where did the energy that the particles absorbed go?"

"Maybe it’s stored inside the atom, perhaps used to bind electrons? Producing a force similar to that between quarks? Or transforming into a completely new type of force that doesn’t affect mass?"

"All of these are possibilities, but what does this change imply? What will happen?"

The last question was the key.

Now, what Zhao Yi was studying was the behavior particles would exhibit after absorbing energy at their core. He didn’t believe it was a re alteration of the physical properties of matter. The physical properties of matter couldn’t explain the changes at the core of the particles.

Zhao Yi suddenly found himself unable to make sense of it.

Even when he obtained "extraordinary" results, precisely because they were "extraordinary," they left the realm of existing knowledge. His mind felt sowhat scrambled, and for a mont, he didn’t know where to begin.

The research seed to have hit another bottleneck.

——

After the second experint concluded, Zhao Yi did so data analysis work, but his mind was still preoccupied with the problems of superconducting materials.

He found his own knowledge insufficient, utterly incapable of explaining the phenona he’d observed.

"Go study so more?"

"Return to university?"

"Or attend an academic conference? Maybe so research in microscopic physics could be helpful?"

Zhao Yi wasn’t sure what to do, so he asked others for advice. An elderly academician from the theory group recomnded he visit the High Energy Institute.

"The High Energy Institute has a lot of research materials; you could take a look. It might help."

Zhao Yi thought this was a good suggestion.

After finishing the work at hand, he simply returned directly to the capital. He visited Lin Xiaoqing at ho, had a couple of days of cozy life, and then went to the High Energy Institute, where he gathered a pile of materials.

Ti to read slowly!

Research must not be rushed!

In the most cutting-edge research, inspiration is thousands, tens of thousands of tis more important than effort. With inspiration, one can discover new things; without it, there’s nothing. re effort is pointless.

Taking advantage of the free ti, Zhao Yi decided to give himself a break. He went to Yanhua University and held a public lecture on particle physics.

This public lecture attracted a massive audience. Several of the country’s top physics professors rushed over upon hearing about it to listen to the lecture. Whether it was to really learn, or just to exchange scholarly ideas with Zhao Yi, was unclear.

On the day of the lecture, over a hundred professors, teachers, so administrative staff, and reporters packed the 400-seat lecture hall, leaving only half the space for actual students.

Walking into the classroom, Zhao Yi scanned the audience with a rueful smile, but still went through with the lecture. Intended for math and physics graduate students, the difficulty level was not particularly high. At least, it wasn’t at a level that would require physics professors to attend, and to put it frankly, he wasn’t very good at explaining content. He wasn’t an outstanding teacher, and the lesson turned out sowhat tedious and boring. Surprisingly though, the lecture received an overwhelming amount of positive feedback, and it was even uploaded online, garnering a lot of praise from netizens.

"God Zhao is just different!"

"Listening to what he says, I understand each word, but when put together..."

"No, wait, I don’t understand a lot of it!"

"So many professional terms! What to what! It truly is a top-tier course! God Zhao is just different..."

Anyway, positive feedback is always good.

After the lecture ended, Zhao Yi exchanged pleasantries with a wry smile with the scholars in attendance. When he got ho and saw the news, he couldn’t help but post a Weibo ssage—

"I am not skilled at teaching. I didn’t prepare for this lesson, didn’t do well, and the classroom response was poor.

Seeing so many people say the course was good, I feel undeserving."

The comnts section burst into admiration, "You’re modest, God Zhao is too humble!"

"This is what a top scientist is like, claiming a great lecture was poor!"

"Really too humble. Anyway, I didn’t see a single student sleeping in the video; everyone was listening attentively!"

"God Zhao is different from the rest, others would boast about themselves no matter what, none are willing to admit their flaws—God Zhao, on the other hand, is always acknowledging his own deficiencies—"

"That’s the difference!"

Reading through the admiring comnts, Zhao Yi felt quite helpless, but he found he quite enjoyed the sound of a bunch of praises. At the sa ti, he understood the feelings of the new generation of stars.

Even if they produced noise, perford crap, there would still be a crowd of fanatic fans turning it into a "classic of the century," effortlessly scoring awards like the Golden Horse Award, Golden Rooster Award, Golden Cow Award, Golden Pig Award—

Ahem!

Anyway, it felt good!
