The Riemann Hypothesis is one of the most important mathematical conjectures in mathematics, ranking even higher than the Goldbach Conjecture in terms of importance, but it is not as famous as the Goldbach Conjecture.

Because the latter is easy to understand; anyone with a certain mathematical foundation can engage in so level of thought about it.

The Riemann Hypothesis is different.

It’s difficult for ordinary people to comprehend the Riemann Hypothesis, because it requires knowledge of complex functions, which are obviously too specialized and complex for anyone not pursuing a degree in mathematics or deeply imrsed in mathematical studies to co across.

However, the Riemann Hypothesis does have a certain degree of renown, largely due to its promotion at the turn of two centuries.

The first instance was in 1900 when German mathematician Hilbert, at the International Congress of Mathematicians, presented twenty-three classic mathematical problems that had a profound impact on subsequent generations.

Among them, the eighth problem pertained to "the Riemann Hypothesis and other pri number problems, including the Goldbach Conjecture and the twin pri conjecture."

All three conjectures were very difficult, and none were proven in the following hundred years.

The second ti was in 2000 when the Clay Mathematics Institute proposed seven "Millennium Prize Problems," known as "the seven great mathematical challenges of the millennium," offering a reward of one million dollars for solving each problem.

Among them, the fourth was the Riemann Hypothesis.

Over a decade passed, and the Clay Mathematics Institute felt very embarrassed: they hadn’t handed out any prize money, but not because no problems had been proven; rather, the solvers of two problems both refused their rewards.

One was Russian mathematician Perelman, the prover of the Poincaré Conjecture, considered a madman who disdained collecting the prize.

The other was Zhao Yi.

Zhao Yi solved the NP problem but also turned down the prize money from the Clay Research Institute, initially thinking the award ceremony too troubleso, but later pondering, "Perelman didn’t accept it, why should I?"

Of course, he couldn’t accept it.

The fact that the Clay Mathematics Institute hadn’t issued any prize money, to so extent, also proved the difficulty of the seven great mathematical Millenium problems.

The Riemann Hypothesis was regarded as the most difficult and the most important conjecture.

Many famous conjectures are mainly important as they inspire new ideas, their actual utility being rather limited, such as with the Goldbach Conjecture. However, the Riemann Hypothesis not only inspires new ideas, its own utility is also very significant.

Therefore, although the Riemann Hypothesis, the Goldbach Conjecture, and the twin pri conjecture are all listed in Hilbert’s eighth problem, its importance is still a level above the other two conjectures.

Professional mathematicians are all very clear about the importance of the Riemann Hypothesis.

For example, soone once asked Hilbert what question he would most like to ask if he could return to this world five hundred years later.

Hilbert answered, "I would like to ask if anyone has solved the Riemann Hypothesis?"

Now, the Riemann Hypothesis had been proven.

Zhao Yi and Edward Witten moodily exclaid, "Why is there still the Riemann Hypothesis!"

"It was inadvertently cracked!"

"The Riemann Hypothesis is really unlovable, trying to steal the lilight..."

"Sigh!"

The two of them sighed together.

Standing by the door, Ruan Wenye had been listening for quite a while and felt like he was going to vomit; it was his first ti encountering such people, and to see two at once.

In fact, Zhao Yi and Edward Witten were truly disheartened.

It was because of string theory for Edward Witten; he didn’t consider himself a mathematician, but a pure theoretical physicist focused on string theory research, indifferent to mathematical achievents.

The Riemann Hypothesis?

Could it earn him another Fields dal or make him the ’greatest mathematician in history’?

Clearly not.

Edward Witten was already one of the most famous scholars in the world; his fa couldn’t be any higher, even being considered one of ’M Country’s top ten most influential scholars in history’ due to his work in string theory, which led a great number of brilliant minds to continue studying string theory, effectively guiding the direction of research for future elite mathematicians.

So, he didn’t care much.

Zhao Yi found it botherso; his mathematical achievents were too nurous, the Goldbach Conjecture, Fermat’s Last Theorem, three-dinsional seismic waveforms, among others, had long made him the ’world’s number one mathematician.’ Adding another, the Riemann Hypothesis, seed inconsequential; just icing on the cake.

Ruan Wenye couldn’t empathize with their feelings, deeming it frustrating to even listen; he knocked on the door forcefully and, taking a deep breath, asked, "Really? Did you complete the Riemann Hypothesis?"

"Yes."

"It should be."

"Phew..."

Ruan Wenye seed more excited than Zhao Yi or Edward Witten, rushing over to embrace Zhao Yi and shouting, "Congratulations!"

He then hugged Edward Witten, "Congratulations to you both!"

"Thank you!"

A smile returned to Edward Witten’s face.

Although his focus was more on string theory work, the Riemann Hypothesis was still one of the seven great challenges of the millennium, and being very important in mathematics, its proof was definitely a positive outco.

Zhao Yi sighed and smiled, "It’s unexpected; we were actually working on quality point research, but ended up solving the Riemann Hypothesis."

"Indeed!"

It was only later that Edward Witten realized they had indeed solved the Riemann Hypothesis, the thought of which was utterly unbelievable.
