Newton and Galileo remain deeply hidden, and it’s possible that they are also in hibernation. No clues have been found.
The only sowhat encouraging aspect is —
[Jask has made a significant research breakthrough in Space-Ti Particle!]
"Since you’re going to Mi Country anyway, why not let Jask explain it to you directly."
Gao Wen elaborated:
"The last ti I t Jask was 60 years ago. I awoke for 2 years to serve as the acting principal and had an encounter with him."
"In the past 60 years, I don’t know if his research has made any new breakthroughs. As far as I know, he has just recently awakened from hibernation... We are always like this, periodically hibernating. After all, technology may change everything, yet it ultimately cannot extend our re hundred-year lifespan."
"A limited lifespan is truly the greatest adversary to human civilization’s developnt."
Gao Wen said solemnly:
"I heard from Teacher Liu Feng that in the era you were born, top scholars usually only needed to reach about 30 years old to complete learning all the knowledge in the current cutting-edge fields, then begin innovative breakthrough research."
"Whereas, when I attended university in the 23rd century, one needed to learn until at least 40 years old to qualify to enter the Academy of Sciences for new field research."
"By 2504... Even when elentary school textbooks now start to include chemistry, physics, biology, middle school teaches calculus, and high school allows specialization in a single subject for advanced studies..."
"Do you know, Lin Xian, how old scholars need to be now to finish learning the existing technological accumulation?"
Lin Xian spun his pen and pondered:
"It can’t be over 50, right?"
Gao Wen’s face showed concern as he nodded:
"The average academic graduation age is 55."
years old.
Upon hearing this nearly-retirent age, Lin Xian truly felt humanity’s limit.
Perhaps.
The great flaw in the developnt of human civilization lies in —
[The mory and knowledge of the previous generation cannot be inherited. No matter how great a genius one is, they must start with learning 1 1.]
During the era of Lin Xian’s parents, a vocational school graduate could find a good job, and a college graduate was considered top among elites.
At that ti, technology wasn’t so advanced, and even radio was considered high-tech; contributing to society didn’t require learning too much.
By the ti Lin Xian graduated from university, master’s degree holders were everywhere, and even after enduring 20 years of studies, a resu still couldn’t open doors.
It’s imaginable.
With 500 years of human societal developnt, how many segnted disciplines and advanced knowledge have accumulated. When a newborn baby arrives, they can’t skip over the simple parts in front to directly learn the most advanced knowledge; it surely cannot be comprehended.
There are only two solutions to this dilemma:
1, mory can continue or be inherited.
2, Lifespan can be significantly extended.
If mory can be inherited or continued, though it may not benefit social developnt and could cause solidified class divisions, it would be a trendous benefit for the overall advancent of human civilization.
For instance, a great genius like Gao Wen could directly pass on his comprehensive academic knowledge to his son.
Then Gao Wen’s son wouldn’t need to learn from elentary, middle, and high school all the way through. After weaning, he could take over Gao Wen’s research topics along with another group of "heirs" in diapers, continuing to dedicate their pri years.
Alternatively.
We could find a way to significantly extend human lifespan.
If human lifespan could be extended to 500 years, then let scholars study for 100 years, absorb all the knowledge, and they would still be young.
"But these are re fantasies."
Lin Xian stopped spinning his pen and opened his eyes:
"Actually, this theory was already ntioned in earlier sci-fi novels, stating that human potential and limits have long been locked by our lifespan."
"Only during those early years, when everything was burgeoning, rapidly advancing, and Moore’s Law seed endless, these flaws weren’t evident. Yet now, as technological developnt leads to knowledge accumulation... it truly is a never-ending sea of books, arduous to navigate, and difficult to finish learning."
"But even so, hasn’t a young and talented genius like Cheng Qian erged? We still must believe in miracles because, after all, evolving from a single cell, a single amino acid to our current form is itself a kind of miracle."
After saying that, he stood up:
"I’m going to take a rest. Tomorrow, get ready a flight for ; I need to go to Mi Country to see Jask."
...
The next day.
Mi Country, West Old Brooklyn, shabby farm, underground shelter.
"You’re done for, bastard!"
Hafnium Alloy VV made a sudden thrust, using clamps to grip Jask’s ankle tightly.
"Ouch, go easy on ."
Jask, already completely grey-haired, with a thin fra and a slightly hunched posture, chuckled:
"I almost forgot about this matter; you rember grudges so clearly."
"Nonsense!"
VV shouted:
"I’ve been pretending to be an artificial idiot for 500 years! Not you!"
"But one should respect the elderly... how can you start grappling right upon eting?" Jask said powerlessly.
Lin Xian was a bit surprised.
Looking at the aged Jask before him.
This...
This was a scene he had never imagined.
The image he had in mind of that charismatic playboy, the robust world’s richest man, now... also aged into a wrinkled old newspaper with the passing ti.
"How could you."
Lin Xian hesitated:
"How could you have grown so old."
"Hehe."
Jask smiled slightly:
"This is the price of learning... Every year brings new knowledge, new fields erge, and without spending ti learning, how can one stay at the forefront?"
