Sylas took a breath and closed his eyes.

"Step behind me." He said coldly.

Cheri's pupils constricted, but she quickly listened.

Dominan thought he was crossing the distance between them with incredible pace, yet somehow a C-tier like Cheri had time to respond to Sylas' words and take a step behind the latter all before the patriarch of the Stormfall Covenant had even managed to reach the halfway point between them.

Space felt like it was extended to infinity, and time slowed to a crawl. It felt like his mind was being stretched to its limits. Though he was sure he was moving just as quickly as he always did, his perception of his movements were dilated to the point it felt like it took him decades just to take a single stride.

He was trapped within his own body.

But he was a Legend. His mind wouldn't collapse that easily.

And Sylas didn't need it to. He never expected to defeat an existence like Dominan so easily. He had managed to take out Ryn because she was caught off guard and the fact she was in close proximity.

In addition, because she was a woman, Sylas' Lust Seed was more than twice as effective against her as it was against Dominan.

Sylas' Lust Seed was a product of evolution, and it was constantly seeking such. He couldn't reproduce with another man. The Lust Seed, thus, simply wasn't as effective in limiting the man.

However…

Since he had chosen to take action, he had no intention of letting things go.

These two guilds had already crossed his bottom line by taking his parents. And now, instead of letting him leave with them, they wanted to block his path…?

In that case…

There was no need for them to continue existing in this world anymore.

Sylas slapped his palms together, his heart beating out of his chest. He pulled and stretched them apart, lightning dancing across his fingertips.

His skin danced with the bolts, his eyes flashing as though they had been pletely burned away and consumed by them.

He reached toward his back and pulled the calligraphy brush free, and then he took a step forward.

A curving s-line of black was pulled across the air, the fine hairs of the brush curling with a flicker of his wrist. Runes danced in its wake, a certain elegant beauty following the condensing of Will that formed from it.

Dominan slashed down with his sword, hiding much of his body behind a shield as though to block the effects of the brush.

But the brush seemed to ignore his defenses as though they weren't there at all.

A mark was drawn across his chest, his blade passing through Sylas' body as though the latter was not even there to begin with.

Pa.

Dominan felt as though some part of him had been stripped away, as though it was locked away and sealed deep within him.

His strength plummeted, and all of a sudden time sped up around him once more. Yet, instead of returning to normal, it shot right by it.

Suddenly, everything was happening so fast he was having a hard time keeping up, everything whipped by his perception with a heart shuddering swiftness, almost like he was watching the wheels of a vehicle speed by along the road while he tried to pick out the individual spindles.

A palm slammed against his chest and he coughed up a mouthful of blood that sent him flying into the distance.

Blood rained through the skies, but it wasn't Dominan's own. The elders of the two guilds were ruthlessly massacred as their Patriarch slammed into the stands, killing large swaths of disciples who couldn't even follow the battle happening in the skies.

Sylas spun the calligraphy brush in his hands.

'So that is your main ability…?'

To say that the calligraphy brush could rewrite reality didn't quite do it justice. Just now Sylas had used the Lust Seed as a bridge to help him understand the underlying Genes and Runes that made up Dominan's body.

Then he used the calligraphy brush to directly draw a seal onto them.

Anyone who understood how Sylas' abilities work, though, would find issue with this.

For one, the Life Seal was only D-tier right now, and even if Sylas had prehended the C-tier, that was still two whole tiers beneath what it would need to be in order to understand the Runes of Dominan's body.

Second, one's Will was the strongest within their bodies, on top of the fact that Dominan's Will itself wasn't bad already. He even had False Infinite Will, a step above Fragmented.

Sylas didn't have nearly enough of an advantage to do any of this.

And that was exactly what made the old man's weapon so fearsome.

Sylas wasn't using the Life Seal to prehend and seal away Dominan's A-tier Runes. He was using them to seal away his D-tier Runes, Runes that should have been so far buried in the layers of his body that they were pletely inaccessible.

This alone wouldn't have been possible without the calligraphy brush which was even further able to help him directly draw onto those hidden layers as well.

That was all to say…

That with this calligraphy brush in hand, there was no existence that Sylas' couldn't seal even with his current Life Seal level so long as he could breach their Wills.

That was something that hardly made any sense at all.

Suddenly, Sylas understood what it felt like to have a powerful weapon in hand. He was so used to relying on only what his body could do alone that he hadn't even properly calculated just what it meant to have this… This brush, even setting aside all the inheritances within it…

Just might be the most powerful benefit the old man had given him.

BANG.

The last head exploded and Sylas just stood in silence, the two guild heads pinned down below and a rain of blood falling from the skies.

However…

He looked off into the distance.

"Let's go." Sylas said.

Without hesitation, he took Cheri by the arm and took a strong step forward. In a flash they had appeared by the Hollow Ship.
